DDA Chapter 23

Our trip is December 26th thru January 2nd. Although I know there will be Christmas crowds but I will take that time of year over any given week during the summer. I did 4 days one time during the month of July and was miserable. Going in December allows us to use the Disney tickets as part of Christmas presents. Plus....although my two young kids are 12 and 15 they still love getting Disney dollars in their stockings when they know we are going after Christmas. This will be our 3rd family trip after Christmas.

Fun! I think for the fun of post-Christmas, etc I could deal with a little crowds, especially with some experience with it under your belt. That's one of the nice things about homeschooling Terra - we can go whenever!

One addition to my decision making is that we will get a Disneyland fix between now and either trip. I'm thinking that it will be the first of January, but it could possibly be early November. Phil needs to get talking to his parents so that we can make the plans, but when we're out there we'll spend at least one full day at DL. That makes May a little more tolerable too.

I think I need to give up on Disney Dining for a little bit and get me to the shower as we've got to take Chase to dance in less than an hour. It's observation day, which should be really cute. Chase will be 3 next month and the rest of the class is all 3yos too. Terra's been asking for several weeks when we can watch Chase dance so she's excited too.

Hi Lynn! Good to see you. Haven't seen that bright star in the east, so I don't think I'm the one prego. Terry, is it you??:lmao::lmao::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Deb, I hope you get the hospital job.:thumbsup2

Elin, love your dream. :rotfl::rotfl:

Theresa. :grouphug:

Jennifer I hope you get the girls to Disney soon.:dance3:

Tia, hope your friend gets the job so you can have a momboss again.:cool1:

Hi Janet and Debbie and Amy and Jen and Heidi and now I'm sleepy and can't think. Hugs to all. And go Eagles!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

It has been 22 years since all of the plumbing has been taken out. There would have to be a lot of "splaining" to do!!!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I will ditto the rest of this!!

Hi Glynis....I have missed everyone. Thanks for allowing me to pop-in and catch up. Wow!!....I'm impressed with the classes you are taking. There is no way I could go back to school and maintain my sanity.

Good Luck with the classes.

Thanks. Luckily, I can take the classes here at home, while the baby is napping. It makes it easier. I've been feeling so guilty about Alan working so hard while I hang out here. Hopefully, the money I can bring in will help out!

Tia and Glynis - TT's Wife is Kristin's second most favorite book of all time, just behind Ulysses... I can't figure that girl out!

Glynis - PLEASE keep the winter over on your side of the country.

Chanon - that Friday comment was just. not. nice. :rotfl:

I know you will all find this to be a huge surprise, but... Our Christmas plans have mutated! Bob really is not interested in being in WDW for a long time again so close to our October trip. So... I put on my thinking cap and came up with the perfect solution!

I bought him a one-way plane ticket to fly with Kristin on Christmas Eve morning. They will take the towncar to the Richmond airport together so he doesn't have to drive and ME is set up to pick them both up.

Meanwhile, I am leaving here the morning of the 18th and driving myself to WDW! I will drive about halfway on Friday and finish up the drive on Saturday, arriving about lunchtime. Then, depending on when Kathrin decides to arrive, I ought to have 3-5 days all to myself! I am beside myself with glee! :teeth:

This also allowed me to cancel the first 5 nights on our second room, saving over $700. Whenever Kathrin arrives she will just stay with me and when Bob and Kristin arrive he will check into the second room and Kathrin will make the switch to that room with Kristin for the rest of her vacation.

I can hardly wait now! :yay:

Southwest is having an awesome sale right now based on how far from your destination you are. Fares start at $25.

Great Plans!! I live about 30 miles outside of Atlanta.....if halfway is anywhere close to there your welcomed to our guestroom. We leave on Dec 26th for 7 days.....our first day in the park will be the day you are leaving. I LOVE Disney at Christmas time.

Lynn

I took my final in medical terminology last night, and passed with 96 percent! I'm pretty proud of myself, as it was HARD!!! Now, I've got to finish the anatomy classes and take that final, and then it will be on to the coding and billing classes. Hopefully, I'll be done with all of it by New Year's and can start working in January!!! Cross your fingers!

As I'm sitting here, I'm listening to the wind pick up outside. We are under a severe winter storm warning, here. It should start to snow any time now, and they are saying it will last all day and into tomorrow. I hope they're wrong, but I don't think they are. Oh well, Fall was nice while it lasted!
:woohoo:Congrats on the terminology exam!!!

Hope you don't get too much snow.

Good morning, DDA!
Tia-have you checked out the flip video cameras on amazon? The "old" ones (from last year)-the kind Joe has that is not HD are under $100.

Christmas is such a great time to go. I'm going with just my oldest the first week of December. I can't wait to see all the Christmassy stuff-its been a few years since I've been that time of year.

That sounds wonderful!!! I would love some alone time at my Happy Place!!! I'm quite a bit jealous, but know that you'll enjoy it enough for both of us!

Well things went from bad to worse at work. So bad that I called the former Director of our division that got a promotion into another division to ask him to help me prepare to start interviewing in other divisions. I'm very unhappy with things right now. This is the guy that got the promotion into the Director job a couple of years ago and I was so upset when it happened. Only to find out he was the best thing that happened to us. He is happy to help me.

:hug:I hope you can find something that is a better fit for you. I know you've been struggling for awhile now.

That sounds like a wonderful plan :cool1::cool1:

I'm home. This interview was with Human Resources. Now she types up my responses and then I wait. She did say that there are not many people looking for part time employment which ups my chances. Hopefully I will get a second interview, if not at least I survived my first interview in a decade. I will say that the benefit package is fabulous. Of course I haven't had benefits in years, but the insurance is much much better than what we have now and the cost is much less than what Chris is paying now. Most of my paycheck would go toward insurance, but Chris would have more money in his.

Hi, hope you are all doing well.

Please skip this if you don't want to listen to my whining and complaining. :-/

I stayed home today as I had a headache, stomach ache and am just exhausted. So I spent today being a bum. There was lots of I should have done but I did not do. I still feel exhausted and I spent most of the day in bed.

I am now trying to clean up my laptop hard drive. I have less then 3gb of space left on my hard drive.:scared1::eek: I am purchasing a TB hard drive or two of them to move stuff to, to free up space. But am going through stuff that is on it to get rid of stuff I know I will never need.

I also need to reupdate my resume again. I just changed it but need to revise it again. I need to start doing blasts of it because I need out. I have no desire to go to work tomorrow. We are so messed up. It is gonna be a long haul before things improve and I can not be in it for the long haul. My heart is not in it.

I really would like to go to FL for homecoming but airfare is over $250, which is a bit crazy given I could travel other times for half that price.

Tia- The ADR system is still down. Who knows when it will be back up again.

Lynn- Good to see you.

Elin- Glad you go trip stuff scheduled and figured out.

:hug:Becky I'm sorry that you are ill. Hopefully it will be shortlived. It seems that many of us are going through issues at work and we are turning to finding something new. Hopefully we can all find work soon (Theresa) and hopefully it will be fulfilling and something that we look forward to going to each day

Great job! My fingers are crossed.

I can't imagine having snow this early in the season. Brrr.
