Elizabeth - I'm sorry to hear about the Knocker. Let's hope someone worse doesn't move in.

Robyn - I don't know what all is going on at your house, but it sure sounds like you've got a lot on your plate, right now. Keep your chin up!

Anne Marie - I'm glad that your kids are looking forward to school starting. I hope that they continue to like it!

Last night's date night was fabulous! Alan and I really enjoyed the movie, and then we went for a burger afterwards. Nothing fantastic, just a Carl's Jr. teriyaki burger, but it hit the spot! We haven't been on a date for about 5 weeks, so this was very needed!

Today we are taking the kids to the Kennecott Copper Mine. It's the largest open pit mine in the world. So large you can see it from space! They are excited to see it. After that, we'll probably grab an ice cream cone or something.

We all feel odd about the poor Knocker. I guess when the new people move in we should pop down and introduce ourselves.

DS got his card with his homeroom assignment on it, so at least he knows where he is supposed to go Monday morning. All we know about the teacher is that she was the yearbook advisor 2 years ago. I don't know what subject she teaches.

Trip Report, Day 3 MGM

For whatever reason, we missed rope drop by about 15 minutes so by the time we got to TSMM, the queue for FPs was a 15 min wait. We grabbed our FPs then watched Little Mermaid. From there we went to the first showing of the new AI attraction. The CM who opened up the show was great. I remember him from last year when he was the Jedi Master at the Jedi Training thing. He was really good there too. Anyway, AI is a lot of fun, but the judges need some work. The girl that Alyssa voted for won.

We grabbed some lunch at the Commissary and then rode the Movie Ride, getting the cowboy scene. Usually it's the gangster. We went to the Animation place where the kids 'colored' a bit before it was time for our drawing lesson.

Alyssa gave up about halfway through and just ended up drawing a landscape with a house, flowers and trees.

Sometime during the day we grabbed FPs for TT and rode TSMM. By the time we were able to get FPs for RNRC, they were gone.

We went back to the room for a quick swim then got cleaned up for dinner at FF. I originally had ADRs but after reading/seeing Elizabeth's review of FF, I switched, and am glad that I did. Our server, Bob, was wonderful. He was great with the kids - kept teasing and joking around with them. Alyssa asked him something about the menu and he replied, loudly, "No, I can't get you a beer!" She repeated her question, getting this answer "I'm married! I can't go out with you!" Everyone around us was laughing.

Like Elizabeth, I had the scallops

Bob had the potato wrapped red snapper

Nicholas had the fish skewer of the day

Alyssa had Mickey pasta

Kids desserts

I don't remember what this was

After dinner we waited for the boat to take us back to MGM. The street performer was starting and had Nicholas and Alyssa assist him with some tricks.

The boat arrived and we got to MGM around 8:30. We headed to ToT to use our FPs and there was still a line waiting to get into the 9PM showing of Fantasmic. As we walked by we heard CMs announcing that the theater was at capacity and this line could now wait for the 10:30PM show. We rode ToT and then Nicholas and Bob rode Star Tours. For whatever reason, I don't care for that. Alyssa and I wandered around nearly empty Streets of America while we waited for them.

After they got out it was a little after 10 and we headed back up to Hollywood Blvd. The line for the 10:30 Fantasmic was now up Sunset Blvd. and halfway down Hollywood Blvd toward the entrance to the park. Nope, we didn't see Fantasmic this trip. We caught the boat launch and headed back to BCV.

Tammi - I am glad you guys liked FF! Maybe I should scrap my plan for Coral Reef in December and just go there instead. Probably easier, since we don't want to go to the CP. I don't ride Star Tours anymore. It makes me just a little more motion sick every time I ride it, so I think after this year I am officially finished with it.
We never did see Fantasmic this trip.

I have managed to burn all of our trip pics to DVD and load them into the desktop, I have emptied one more suitcase, we have put 4 suitcases away, I have done 3-ish loads of laundry, and we have gone grocery shopping. I have sort of surveyed the uniform situation, and DS has put some supplies in his backpack.

I will go out and buy 5 reams of paper and a case of paper towels and Kleenex and hand sanitizer eventually. Not now. In 6th grade we bought the ream of paper the math teacher asked for and DS took it to school, then they switched him to another class! Now they want a ream of paper for EVERY class. Definitely NOT something I will be sending in until after the dust settles.

Elizabeth, you sound like me. I've been busy uploading pictures, unpacking, laundry, grocery shopping, and putting pins in our book. It seems I need a bigger book. I got a few fakes, but other than that they look good. I have the beginning and end of the alphabet pins, but hardly any middles.

Now I'm going to watch the Steelers beat the Redskins and watch a movie. I picked up Doubt today.

Tammi,,,,,I really want to go on the Magic Meet cruise. I am trying to talk Elin into going. She is trying to talk herBob or at least he seems interested. Stephanie has a family trip plus we have the 14 day Transatlantic trip or she would do it in a heartbeat.

I would love to see Key West again. Cozumel has some excursions that look like fun. I know Fred Block will have some fun things planned.

I want to go on the Magic Meets cruise. I already have the Transatlantic planned though. So am not sure how it will work for vacation time. If I am still where I am now I should have enough time to do both.

But I hope to be living in Florida by then, so who knows with a new job.

Nope, so far they have never sailed out of Baltimore and I have not heard anything about them sailing from Baltimore in the future, except for random rumors. Once the 2 new ships are built they may sail from anywhere though.

I haven't touched the pins yet. DS and DH had them dumped out on the floor Thursday when I got home from work, but they didn't DO anything with them. DS's pin bag/folio thing is full, but he didn't want to buy another one. The big ones are expensive! I will have to sort through ours and put them away. I don't know if I have any alphabet duplicates - if I do you can tell me if you need any of them.

My counterfeits are : R, I, S, T, L, D, C, W, U, and F.

now to get a good rate on a rental car for the two days before the cruise so we can just drive ourselves to the ship,,,,,,,,,plus get one for after the cruise for two days.

Then when I have the two days with my sister, that will be a piece of cake.

We know there will be some things planned by mouse fan travel sorta like a mouse fest and we cannot wait to see what will be planned.

I went to visit the younger grandkids and didn't get any shopping done at all. No groceries. No clothes. Nada. Nor did I go through my closet.
