DDA chapter 21

To answer your question: YES!!! There are times when I just can't stand it!!! At those times, I first put the question to my kids, what do you want me to make for dinner? Then I pull out cookbooks that I rarely use and choose 1 or 2 recipes that I've never tried before. If all else fails, I run to the convenience store for a large jolt of diet Coke, and then wander the grocery store aisles to see if something looks good to me. If none of that works, the kids get eggs for dinner until someone comes up with a good plan!

Yup, eggs or pancakes. Good fall backs for me too! We've also done a chicken from the grocery store this week, pasta from pizza hut (for 7 of us so not bad price per person) and leftovers. I'm running out of those now and need to kick this funk. It would also help if I'd had time to really go to the grocery store since we got back into town. Mom got her half of that done yesterday and I'll go today. Food in the fridge should help too. :rolleyes1

I was a huge MJ fan back in day, I was very surprised to hear of his death yesterday & saddened. I knew Farrah was ill, but it was still sad to hear of her passing as well. Her poster was the 1st that hung on my brothers wall as I am sure it was for so many other million boys at that time.

Or in my parents' bedroom as the case may be. ;) Seriously, I'm not joking. My mom was a generous soul. :rotfl:

I just try my best to trudge through it and factor in the money I save by cooking at home. I also try to remind myself that we all eat much healthier at home. Hang in there!

Tia-I am with Amy....though it used to happen a lot during the holiday season when I was working and I would give in to the blahs and hurriedness and get fast food. We did splurge yesterday because I got an e-mail for BOGO at Qdoba so for $7 (Abi paid) we got two steak nachos and everybody ate. :goodvibes

Yeah, that's my eating out process too.... Coupons, BOGOs, Kids eat free - all requirements for eating out.

ETA: It also helps that there's usually only the 2 of us involved as well and we share a lot of stuff so that keeps costs down. Now healthy? That's a whole other story. (Though we do try to make better choices.)

I was never a huge Michael Jackson fan, but I do recognize that he was extremely talented! I also think that he was used up by the industry, and as he aged, the need for the spotlight was what instigated his many different looks and how he came about them. I don't even want to comment on the allegations! I just don't know enough about the whole situation. I do feel sad for his family, but I kind of resent the attention that his death is getting.

I feel badly for all the other people who died yesterday. Not just Farrah Fawcett, but all the "nobodies" who died. Their lives were just as important to their families as Michael Jackson's but now and forever he will overshadow anything else that happens on June 25.

I hope he's at peace. That's about all I have to say!

Amy - Wow, is all I can say!!! I look back on my career as a teacher and am amazed that I came through it unscathed! I'm a very "hands on" person, and can't count the number of times I hugged students, or put a hand on a shoulder, etc. I was also the teacher the kids would come to for a Tylenol. That could have gotten me fired for dispensing drugs to kids. Yikes!

I will agree with you on all counts and add that there seems to be a mitigating factor that stunted Michael's emotional growth at a young age. He never made it into his teens mentally (IMO).

Good Morning. We have more sunshine today :cool1: We took kayaks out this morning, but they limit how far you can go out so that got boring real fast. We were all we too as they were open kayaks. Hunter won a scavenger hunt and won a free ice cream for that. Today is a slower day for us, kind of a nice way to wind down the vacation. Tomorrow we head back to reality. At least I'm not working again until Monday.

Bernadette we are looking at coming back here in the summer of 2011. Your family should take a look at this, there is so much to do for all ages or you can do absolutely nothing.

Chris and I share in the cooking responsibilities so if one doesn't want to do it the other steps up. Occasionally we have fend for yourself night, but there are always canned soups or frozen things that can easily be made. We very rarely eat out unless we are on vacation and even then we do not eat out every day. Not eating out helps us stick to our budget and thus afford more or better vacations. We have determined that vacations are important to us so they are now part of our yearly budget.

I was a fan of Michael Jackson in the 80's, but his freakish lifestyle turned me off long ago. He was just another messed up man in my eyes. I have never gotten past the having children sleep in his bed obsession. Even if he wasn't a child molestor he certainly had issues.

I would think you could. We used warm and it was pretty warm. The sheet looked white coming out of the washer, but I noticed a difference in feel when we took them out of the dryer. Then again, we don't typically use dryer sheets so that was a bonus for us.

I might try them. I don't use dryer sheets either (or fabric softener at all) but they convenience factor has me seriously considering them! Thanks, Tia.

Tammi - What was the name of the Disney book you mentioned a couple of weeks ago? You said you were reading it with the kids. Thanks!!
The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World

If I had kept reading I would have seen that you answered the book question, Elin. Yes, today the waters are rough, very breezy today. Rough but fun!!! The weather has been incredible. Warm, but with nice ocean breezes. We had a few drops of rain one night when we were sleeping. The humidity hasn't been bad. The crowds are very light. Yesterday we rented jet skis and went on a banana boat ride. The kids has a blast getting thrown off that thing! I took the kids out last night and did my own photo shoot on the beach. If you would like to see them, here they are:

After reading the reviews, I booked the Dessert Party too, for the 12th. We will see Spectro and Wishes from the terrace.

Chanon - Very nice furniture.

Anne Marie - I hope your move is going smoothly. Enjoy your time at Williamsburg.

Theresa -

And a big :grouphug: to everyone else.

We will be home Sunday evening. :(

We just finished lunch and are heading back out!

Your photos are WONDERFUL! Some real keepers there to make into gifts, for certain. I am curious... when I click on your link it takes me to a photobucket slideshow that is just pictures on a black background. Is that what you all get when I post a link to a slideshow too? When I click on my own links I get my normal photobucket page. Just curious...

I am hoping they extend the Dessert Party. I think I could get Bob into the MK for Spectro and Wishes if we had a "place" we were going.

Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

I get the black background and agree that the pics are lovely!!

So much for the 2 days of no rain, woke up to rain this morning and a storm just rolled through (pretty good thunder/lighting) with a worse storm on the way (with hail). Anyone else getting nasty weather?
