I'm glad that you have it figured out and are reassured that it isn't serious! It sounds like you have a good plan in place, too.

I think Laura was having a little trouble with low blood sugar yesterday. She went straight from school to synchro practice. She came home crying hysterically about never going to practice again and how she was going to fail every single one of her finals. She couldn't pull herself together and was just sobbing. I got her to eat a little fruit and then dinner, and she was completely changed. Still stressed about practice and finals, but reasonable and calmer again. The team mother asked us all for money and brings snack for everyone. Yesterday she brought pudding, and Laura doesn't like pudding. I'll make sure she has her own snack now, too.

I am not a huge fan of pudding, either. I hope she feels better today!! :wizard:

Although I had 2 recitals two weeks ago, the majority of them start tonight. Between now and June 7, I will do 20 recitals. The most fun for me will be the three we have this weekend. We are featuring 9 graduating seniors! That is the most we have ever had in one year. Four of my "stable of boys," as one Mom calls them (including Patrick :(), will perform this weekend. I got them what I think is a really nice gift and when I have the time I will take pictures to show you all. :teeth:

What an exciting time! :) Can't wait to see the gifts!

I thought my two cats were the only ones to steal bread and buns. They will pull the bags off the counter and rip everything apart. I don't know how much they actually eat. So, now we have to make sure that all bread/buns are secure in a cupboard.

I am not sure if she is after the contents or the bag. :confused3 No telling with her.

Good luck! It sounds like Disney could be a winner!

I think WDW sounds like the clear choice. AKL is very quiet, and very relaxing. Lots of little nooks and crannies to sit with a book or a drink. It feels like Disney to me because it is our favorite resort, but it isn't over-the-top Disney. The Kidani splash area does look like fun. We toured the 1 bedroom Kidani model, and it was NICE. The ones in Kidani actually have 2 bathrooms - the ones in Jambo just have one bathroom but they are still very nice. You should book it, Bernadette.

DH and I are going to get DS's neuropsych results today. I am eager to hear what he has to say. I am also excited to have DH hear what the Dr. has to say, because he can't seem to wrap his head around the fact that DS's little brain is different from the rest of us. Hopefully the Dr. can explain it to him so he will understand.

DS has "game day" at school, and he doesn't have to wear his uniform. He is quite pleased with that arrangement. Tomorrow is "awards" day, but he said he isn't getting any awards. Not sure what he is supposed to do when other people are getting their awards. Friday they start finals.

Good morning!

Good morning :)

I am running late, will catch up later!

That time again already, huh. Enjoy your senior recitals! I'll bet the gift you found will be perfect. Can't wait to see it.

Isn't it always?!?!?! :confused3 ;) Bernadette, hope you can get DH on board with the idea.

Deb - Good luck making it through your long day!

Debbie - Hope you have a nice day today with minimal rain. Sounds like the VIP tour was nice.

Thanks! She hasn't been feeling great for a while now. She, dh, and Matthew all have colds that are lingering forever. They are not so bad as to stop them from work/school, but I think it's exhausting her. Especially since she's had ear pain a couple of nights and thus not had great sleep. She has Regents exams/finals coming up and a lot of review studying. Plus synchro is getting crazy. It's all adding up to a lot of pressure. Then to go from lunch until 5:30 without eating anything and lots of exercise wasn't good. She was tired this morning, and I agreed that she could miss synchro practice tonight in order to go to a chemistry review class and still get her other homework done.

My kids were in more talkative moods than normal yesterday, so I think I actually have some semblance of a schedule for our trip. Assuming Laura doesn't go hysterical at a practice and tell her coach that she isn't swimming Nationals.

After Nationals, we are going to Jacksonville Beach, Fl for two nights. One of those nights is 4th of July, and the fireworks are from the fishing pier. We'll be at an ocean front hotel, so we should be in a good place to see those.

From there we'll head to Williamsburg with a one-night stopover in NC so that we don't have to have a super long day of driving. We'll spend two nights in Williamsburg. No one is interested in going to Busch Gardens, so we'll focus on the historic sights.

Next is one night in Gettysburg, and then we'll head home.

Now I just have to get all the hotels lined up. :)

Sounds like a pretty good plan! I'd love to be along for all of those stops.

I definitely agree!
Thanks! I tend to only take a lot of photos on vacation. I should practice more at home. I could also really do some tutorials on post processing too.

:wizard:Sounds like a busy week!

Yes but.....I promised myself I wouldn't go again with someone who doesn't want to be there and he won't stay at home. I would like to think that he would really enjoy AKL but not if he goes into it thinking he just doesn't want to be there. I checked availability for Kidani and they do have a 1 BR savannah view for about $100 more than Jambo. I wonder if being close to the pool there and being first on/off the bus would outweigh being close to Myra???

DH and I are going to get DS's neuropsych results today. I am eager to hear what he has to say. I think I could get him to say yes but I want him to want to say yes and go into it thinking it sounds like fun!

Sounds like a good plan! Williamsburg is on our list of places to go someday.

That I totally understand! I go through that exact same thing on a somewhat regular basis.

Only your will stay home. DH will let me take one child but he doesn't think I can handle all 3.:headache: It would be a LOT cheaper if I could get a room for the 4 of us who really want to go. My first choice would be for DH to go with us AND have a good time and enjoy seeing the kids have a good time. If he won't can't do that then I wish he would stay home.

I am trying to think of things we could do that would be new/interesting for him.

He's never stayed at AKL and I think he would enjoy that.

He did like the layout of the family suite so I would think he'd have to LOVE a 1BR villa-my worry is I won't get him out of it.

We've never been to Cirque du Soleil and I think everyone would enjoy that (except maybe Joe). Is is loud? Joe LOVED the Nemo show at AK but he HATES the Lion King show there.

We could try a few new (to DH) dining things-that is probably the best way to make sure he has a good time-feed him well.

The ironic thing is he doesn't really "participate" when he's there so even though he's been 7 times he still doesn't know where anything is-like what park Spaceship Earth isn in.....SO...it should ALL be new to him.

I need advice again, and you are always so good with these things.

The hotel that the team has picked to stay in at Nationals in Gainesville, FL is a Quality Inn that used to be a Rodeway Inn. Apparently it was a Quality Inn before it was the Rodeway. It is a two star hotel. I can't find any recent reviews, but the older reviews were mostly bad. The Travelodge next door doesn't get great reviews either. So, I booked my family at a different hotel. I told the team that we were staying elsewhere, because the Quality Inn does not allow 5 to a room. Maybe I should have come right out and mentioned the bad reviews, but I was trying not to hurt the team mom's feelings, since she made all the travel arrangements. Also, I don't want them to think that I am a snob. The coach wrote back (copying everyone) that she wants all the girls in the same hotel and that Laura could easily room with other team members so that we won't have five in the room. Laura likes her privacy as much as I do and won't be comfortable staying with the others, and none of us want to chance this hotel (which could be lovely, but...)

The coach's reasons for keeping the team all in one place do make sense and are reasonable. Normally I wouldn't care, but I can't sleep in a yucky room for two nights. I don't think it's my place to tell the rest of the team that we need to switch hotels.

So, where do I go next with this?

It does sound very similar to Hunter. I hope that you can get her to eat more often too.

I'm glad you made progress on your planning. I'm sure everything will come together.

I'm not sure what I'd do. I suppose that if I were just going to be in the room to sleep I could stay at a 2 star, but if I were going to spend any time at the hotel, I'd want a nicer hotel. The problem is that there are no recent reviews so who knows how it really fairs? If you do tell them about the poor reviews, but then it winds up being nice :confused3 On the other hand if it is really as bad as the reviews then I imagine most people wouldn't want to stay there.
