DDA Chapter 20

 I'm sorry Deb. I do know how rough it is. I don't work 2 jobs, but I'm gone from 7AM until after 5 everyday. Plus activities, homework, housework. It's hard. If I didn't run a tight ship around here, my life and house would be in disarray. Sometime I sound like a drill sergeant, making the kids help out and/or straighten things up, but I can't do it by myself. I can't count how many times they've heard me say that I'm not their maid or I'm not a waitress. I hope you all can work to a resolution that alleviates some of the stress and tension that you are feeling. Also, I think it's your maternal nature to be concerned about Colby than the guys in your family. But since it is the end of the school year, just keep tabs on his progression throughout the summer and see if you notice a change. Hopefully you will. I tend to think a lot of his issues have to do with being the baby.

Boy does this sound familiar! If only mine would listen :sad2: They are slowly getting a little better.

Bernadette,
Joes poem made me giggle, how cute!!!!

Deb,
Sending you good thoughts. Sounds like you have so much going on at once. I agree with Tammi, its the natural maternal feeling that the other men in your life do not understand. Do what you feel is right for Colby & you & he will be ok.

Elin,
Looks like such a cute place for dinner.

Bob is away on business so Kristin and I decided to burn a gift certificate we had to a local Bistro tonight. Unfortunately I left my phone in the car and it was raining so I have no food porn to share. I will let you know what we ate, however!

Sounds like you both had a wonderful evening!

Gary had his appointment with the urologist yesterday. He brought home a container to collect his urine in for 24 hours, he has to take it to the hospital lab today. He has another appointment Monday where the Dr. will use the scope(thankfully he will get numbed!)to look at his bladder. The Dr. is concerned about the amount of blood in his urine, he said the cysts on his kidneys should not be causing that. He thinks it might be the walls of his bladder are deteriorating. But his is not positive on that, so hopefully Monday we will have a better idea of what is going on.

It is very gloomy & raining out today. Does not help with the mood much. I feel like I still have the winter blahs, so it needs to start acting like Spring soon!

:rotfl::rotfl:That's one of those things that you should save forever. How sweet!

Bernadette, Joe is so sweet! You are going to have a fabulous trip! :goodvibes

Great pictures, love the sunglasses :rotfl:

Anne Marie, love the pics of Sophie's party!

Thunderstorms for us today. Blah.

The swine flu has shut down the Ft. Worth ISD through AT LEAST the end of next week. 7 school days that the kids WILL NOT have to make up. They have ONE case in their district. ONE kid out of 80,000 has it and they have completely shut down. The kicker is those kids are being told not to go to daycare or anywhere else in public. They are to stay home and not congregate. Yeah, like THAT will happen! They blindsided the parents and now they expect the parents to sequester the kids for the next 9 days?

All high school sports (across the entire STATE) have been cancelled. I have a feeling there will be no music festival at Six Flags for DS next Friday. The suspension on activities is set to run through May 11 at the earliest.

We have 16 cases confirmed in the entire state, yet the governor declared a disaster or an emergency or some such thing.

If the powers that be are that concerned about a pandemic, they need to shut down all international travel. Not simply these kneejerk reactions.

ALYSSA!

love this!!! scraplifting

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALYSSA

Alyssa!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALYSSA!!! :)

I am pretty sure it is too late to shut the borders. I promise you everybody in Mexico who has so much as sniffled or sneezed in the past week is in TX now. :sad2:

Dadboss said they are thinking I may not be allowed to take Princess out anymore. He did say we can go out today, and they will just monitor the news and see how things are progressing. What a nightmare THAT will be! We are going to go to the aquarium today. I will keep Princess in her stroller so she can't touch anything. Our aquarium is not designed as a "touch" experience anyway, so it should be fine.

The Six Flags home page has NOTHING about swine flu or closures or anything else. :confused3 There is a charity even there today, so I guess it is going on as planned.
