Good morning, DDA!!! I only have a few minutes, because the birthday sticky buns are on their last rise. The cheesecake is just about cool enough to go in the fridge. And I need to start the bacon. (I haven't cooked bacon in years...hope I don't mess it up.)

I hope to catch up later, but I still have gifts to wrap and a treasure hunt to plan, so it may be tomorrow.

Enjoy your day, DDA!

Tammi, those are great pictures! Alyssa's dress is beautiful, and Nicholas looks so grown up. The corsages bring back good memories for me. I don't think anyone has had an Easter corsage since my grandmother died, but we bought her one every year.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Matthew! He enjoyed his special breakfast and is glad that his birthday fell in the middle of break week this year.

Can I just say how much I love Hal????

This afternoon at work, I was starting to smell a weird odor and could not figure what it was. Stephanie remembered they were starting to redo the floor in the gym. She was leaving to go home and was coughing up a storm and I had about 45 minutes to go. So far she is okay.
My co-worker told me to leave and she would close up at about 15 minutes to close. By then the migraine was starting and I was sick to my stomach. I managed to get home and immediately changed into my pjs and went to sleep on the recliner. The next thing I heard was Hal getting supper ready, emptying the dishwasher and just generally cleaning up. He brought me supper and I was able to eat a little. I am feeling better now but am apprehensive about going in tomorrow. The workers will be here all week and apparently the smell gets worse when they paint the floor.

I really hate that I get migraines from smells. It is very frustrating that I can be sick so fast and cannot control any of it. But at least Hal is understanding about it all. :goodvibes:love:

I'm glad that Hal took care of you last night, but I'm sorry that he had to. I also get migraines from smells that come on too quickly. I hope that you can find a way around the smell today.

Good morning! i NEVER sleep in past 8 and this morning i woke up after 10--of course i have plans at 1130, but im still happy i slept! It looks like another rainy day in Jersey!

Tammi-great pictures! Alyssa nd Nicholas look so grown up! you look great!

Ds's grades tanked when the semester changed. Last report card his only A was in Band, but he did manage to pass all 7 classes for that marking period. Friday ends the second marking period of the semester and yes, he could fail as many as 4 classes. If that happens, and he doesn't pull out of it the final marking period then he is on a very slippery slope. If he fails the semester exams (which is likely if he nearly fails all 3 marking periods) I don't think he will pass for the year. Then there are the state tests, which he has always ACED. He may fail those. Because I have NO CLUE what's wrong with him. He has only taken one state test so far. I have been HOUNDING him to see if the teachers have said anything about those test results, but he claims not.

 Elizabeth, I'm sorry that you have this added stress!

So my day went like this...

At Lu's pre-op...
Lu had a hearing test, she could not hear any of the softest sounds they played. She still has fluid in both her ears. Her throat is redder than red. She is on yet another antibiotic. She was beyond tired and threw a lovely tantrum!

Came home, fed Lu and put her down for a nap. I scarfed down a sandwich before I picked up Mo at her friend's house.

At Mo's well visit-
She has grown 4 inches this past year. And she has asthma! What?!?!? She started coughing on Saturday. Her doctor listened to her and heard the wheeze. Gave her a breathing treatment and then listened to her again. Yep, asthma. Ok, fine. She is on Singulair and an inhaler. Need to go back in 3 weeks to have her listened to again. Forgot to get her shot record which I need for Kindergarten registration:headache: And Mo had to have a shot which freaked her out! Took 2 of us to hold her while she got the shot.

And our dr wants Em to see a GI dr. She gave me some probiotics in the meantime.

I see lots more doctor visits in our future. Which make Eric very grumpy as he gets the job of staying home with the daycare kids, which then in turn, makes me very grumpy!!

We are so busy with everything that I get on here and read but my mind is always thinking about 30 or 40 things that I can't focus. I am stressed about our camping trip in May, it is fast approaching and I feel woefully unprepared. Lots of other GS activities too that are creeping up on me. I have Mo's party next weekend which means a cake. And then the very next day I have another cake request for Em's best friend. Eek!! We have every weekend booked from now til the end of June!

You are so busy, Robyn! Take care of yourself, too. And thanks for the reminder that I need to schedule dr. appointments for my boys.

No matter what we do we always owe state taxes. It is not usually very much but I can't figure out why they can't get the right amount of taxes out of our salaries?!?!? :confused3

This year we owed federal but actually had a small refund from the state.

Good morning, DDA.

Happy Birthday to Matthew!

I am relatively certain that at some point to day my head will pop off due to the stress of dealing with my child. I talked to the computer teacher this morning. She sent home a progress report and a failure notice, but DS made them evaporate. He is good at that. He had 2 missing assignments, he gave her one today and he will complete the other and give it to her tomorrow. He also can re-take 2 tests and if he aces them he can have a max score of 80 as opposed to a 70 and a 57. :sad2: WHY can he not seem to think to do these things on his own? This is crunch time - anything not done by Friday won't count. He MIGHT, just MIGHT be able to squeak by with a barely passing grade IF he really gives 110% over the next 2 days.

The band director has NO ESTIMATE of when they will be back from the competition. I can send DH down there to try to get DS, BUT I have no clue how DH would FIND DS once he got there. I also have no clue what we would do if the bus left when DH was on his way down there. :confused3 DS would be ON the bus. The other issue is that DS's backpack is locked in the band room, and he HAS to have it because he has stuff in there that HAS to be done tonight. I am SICK about him missing his theater performance. I called the theater and told them I just don't know what to expect.

The neuropsychologist from the children's hospital e-mailed me back - he is going to try to call me today or tomorrow. He said if I don't hear from him that I am welcome to call and see if I can catch him between appointments. So that's a good thing.

Here is some exciting news.....

My son-in-law just posted on Facebook....received a call from the White House communications staff last night. Myself, Guenna, and Nicholas were invited to have a 30-minute chit-chat with President Obama Wednesday around 11AM at the White House. We're going, of course, along with only about 8 other people who were invited and who helped him in the early days of the campaign. At around 11:30 we'll "meet the press" to talk about the meeting.

Then Guenna posted.....OK, everyone. We may or may not be standing behind President Obama when he gives his televised speech (check CNN, CNBC) between 11-12:30 midday. And Nick has a big letter to give to the President from his school. Loving it!

Guenna told me will be wearing a t-shirt that says "One day I will be able to vote" he remembered he had the shirt and when he realized what was going to happen, he asked to wear it. Of course, it will be under a button up!!!!

That is very exciting!

That is so cool Terry!!! I will have to see if I can see them.:goodvibes

Bernadette-Cassidy would be so jealous...she wants a laptop...I am not sure why....but what do I know??

Congrats on the new laptop, Bernadette.

My kids want laptops, too. Matthew will most likely be getting one as his graduation gift from us (in lieu of a party and everything else). Laura will need to wait two years until she graduates. Who knows what they will be by the time Miles graduates!
