We did have a really good time, despite my bird encounter and the buses. I did notice the next time at MK the workers were keeping the food cleaned up, so there were less birds about.
I have really noticed the bird population increase in Frontierland over the last couple of trips - I had some hanging around my feet when I got some popcorn there in January. The only other spot that they've always been bad has been near the entrance to World Showcase from FW. I think the problem is people feeding them too much.
Oh goodness -- I hope today is better for both of you.Are the meds helping the nausea?
Yes, some. I'm trying to only take it once a day. Now, I feel worse at night than I do in the early mornings, so I try to take it at night and make it through the day without it. Some days are still better than others. I just want my appetite back!
I'm sneaking in some extra DIS time today. We get fairly frequent, but short breaks throughout the day so maybe I can keep up 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there. I probably shouldn't put the cart before the horse, but the aquatics director told me yesterday that I will be getting a promotion already. She needs to get final approval from the facility director, but it "should" happen very soon, maybe even today. That means a raiseI will also get a raise once I start teaching swimming lessons. If this all works out I will not feel so bad about taking a low paying job. It still won't be what I was making 10 years ago at Dartmouth, but there is far less stress with this job.
I'm heading back out to guard. That 10 minutes was quick.
What great news!!!!
Thanks, ladies! I am feeling somewhat better today (can you hear me knocking on wood???). I am on a mission for Robyn to find her some different wines for her new wine rack, so it is almost a given that I will be in Richmond tomorrow.![]()
Hey, Tammi... what are your plans for tomorrow??
Glad you're feeling better! I hope you and Tammi enjoy yourselves tomorrow.
Good Morning DDA!
Sorry if I have been MIA!
I had been busy with getting Leighanna's Birthday party ready, work, sickies, new kitty, and all the general RL stuff!
Hopefully things now will calm down a bit!
Welcome back Heidi! Frontierland is NOT the place to get food! I don't know how many hot dogs and french fries I saw getting swooped on and taken right from the hands of people. (I think there is a reason they have signs there that warn of not feeding the birds.) And of course, what goes in, must come out at some time!Sorry it had to come out on you, Heidi.
Most CM's, I noticed, would replace what was snatched up though.
I need to plan another trip to get out of this PDD. Unfortunately, August is already taken at work.![]()
Hi, Tom! Sorry to hear things have been crazy - perhaps someone will clear a spot in the schedule for August.

I don't know how my realtor (sale of my house) sleeps at night!!!!!!!!

. Much of the day today we only had 3 guards so we had one guarding the lap pool, and two on the leisure side, but we couldn't open the slide as it was too busy watching those areas. We also had no breaks during that time. We need a minimum of 4 guards to guard effectively and have breaks and 5 if they want the slide open. At busier times we need at least 7 guards. How he came up with 1.5 is a complete mystery and would lead to certain law suits as it just wouldn't be safe. So for now there is no promotion, just more responsibility. I hope to see a payoff somewhere up the road.
But I also got supper in the crockpot and the dishwasher run.
(I will love it anyway as I know quite a few of the man male leads and all of the pit

The room was very clean and stayed that way the entire time.
