DDA Chapter 18

Well, I tried calling this morning, first try my phone dropped the call, the second call the CM couldn't get anything to come up so he transferred me, I didn't have time to keep waiting.

Third call, I got through to the correct system, this one asks you if you are making ADR's for 5-26 through 6-6, I'm sure that will change daily, if so you have to press 1. The good news is I got the ADR's I wanted, with the exception of LeCellier. During the transition they are using two different systems, the new one starts with ADR's beginning on 5-26, anything before that and they have to switch back to the old system.

We have,

Dinner at Chef Mickey's

Lunch with Shamu

Lunch at Whispering Canyon

Lunch at Sci Fi

Breakfast at Ohana

We will have the kitchenette in the suite and I plan on having some of our meals there, with the TIW card we may even take a bus to a value food court once or twice.

Yay, for finally getting through!! Your plans sound wonderful.

Good luck with the race, Vicki! I'm sure you'll do great! Have a wonderful time!

Ditto!

Thanks for the reassurance :rotfl:

Anytime!!:thumbsup2

So in the last couple of days I have received more calls asking me to interview with other divisions of the City and County of Denver...

One of the jobs will come through....but by the end of next week I will have beat the lady I met at the test who had interviewed/tested 4 times in 9 months....I will have done 5 by the end of the next week. :rotfl:

:wizard: :wizard:

Abi had callbacks today for her school's musical....we are just waiting to hear what part she is playing (and what musical it will be as the teacher changed it today because there weren't enough kids who could sing).

Congrats Abi!!!

We had boneless pork chops with mac & cheese.

Yum!!

:wizard: Hope everyone is feeling better real soon!!!!:wizard:

I've been adding borders to my photopass pictures and I think this time may have actually pushed me over the edge to insanity. It is the only way to explain yesterday's events.

Yikes, :faint:

With that, I am going to get off.....I haven't been sleeping well and I am just tuckered.

Tomorrow I am going to take myself to the movies....it's cheapest on Friday and Saturday mornings and I have a gift card that will cover the ticket. :goodvibes I am going to watch "He's Just Not That Into You" as "Bride Wars" is already out of the theater.

I hope you sleep well. Enjoy your movie tomorrow!!

Have fun Vicki!

I am leaving Monday night.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I am beyond ready. I could care less that I am not packed. I would be perfectly happy to just hop on the plane.

Today I thought I locked my keys in my trunk. Luckily I had not locked my car.

I got a ticket, for quote off the ticket "did left turn where signs prohibit left turn." I needed a restroom ASAP, I saw the sign for no U turn but missed the no left hand turn sign. The officer stopped me took my info to go process. Left me use a restroom and then after I was back in my car gave me a ticket.

My dinner was from Wendy's. I have had something out at least one meal everyday for like the last week.

My goal starting the day I get back is to eat healthy and exercise. I hope to lose 15-20 pounds by my Birthday in June. I need to cut out most of the eating out. I think menu planning is in order, so I have things I can pack for both lunch and dinner on days I need 2-3 meals on the go. But that will be later. I have a trip to get ready for.

Sorry about the ticket. :sad2:

Yay, for leaving Monday!!!!

Hi everyone, I'm home. :wave2: DAMN IT!!!
Had a great time, didn't want to come home. I don't do trip reports, but will give ya some highlights.

We decided to get up at 2:00 am the 19th cause we had gotten 2" of snow and sleet the night before and we didn't know how the roads would be. No trouble at Allentown, but had a delay at Philly. They were checking the plane and there was a problem with the one engine, so we had to take a different plane to Orlando.

ME fine, got luggage in about 2 hrs. Got to resort to check in, John asked how much to upgrade to a king room. She checked to see if there was a king available, and they upgraded us for free! (building 1 room 1332 corner room, lake view.)

Got to room and there was a large towel Mickey Head on the bed. ºOº For an 8 day stay we got 7 towel animals. 2 swans, 2 chicks, a puppy, a lobster and a baby bunny. :yay: The room was very clean and stayed that way the entire time.

For the 1st time ever, I can say the buses for POFQ stunk (big time). :(

Weather was cool most days, but nice. Parks were crowded but manageable (we won't do peak season ever again)
John did Soarin (60 minute wait), we rode everything we wanted and did the parks several times.

Dole whip - good but a little to rich. (after my Dole whip a bird pooped on me :headache:) CP lunch 4 thumbs up.
Called for an ADR for Boatwrights for one night, couldn't get in until 8:30 so we walked over got got seated immediately. I decided not to do the carriage ride.

Sounds like you and John had a wonderful trip!!

Ok I have shorts & pants picked out to take, tomorrow I will deal with the tops. I have way to much clothing that I want to take & with doing carry on only, I have to give somewhere lol Besides the jeans I will be wearing down there I think I will still pack one more pair. So I guess I need to cut back on the shorts :confused3 It will be worse when I try to decide which tops to take!

Gary is already rolling his eyes at me :rotfl: Remember he always fits everything into a backpack :rolleyes1

Just a backpack, I hate men!

We had mac and cheese too, but with shake and bake chicken.

Yum, you all are killing me!

I was originally going to just do carry ons. But then decided I better pay the $30 roundtrip fee to take 1 bag. So I broke down and paid it just to be safe. I am still taking laundry soap and dryer sheets just in case I need them.

I need to actually start putting stuff in my duffle. It is mostly in another bag, just need to move things around and get it properly packed. I also need to print out all my docs and things.

When I leave for work on Monday, I am not coming back home until after my trip.

I am being a cheapie & not wanting to pay the luggage fees. Now when I travel with the boys, that will be a different story!

Katie's still a fired up.:rolleyes1

Deb,
Have a great day.

Theresa,
Super good luck for the interview!

Debbie,
Good luck on ADRs.

Tammi,
I almost gave Katie sausages for breakfast yesterday because I forgot what day it was. She politely reminded me.:upsidedow

I wonder if Katie is beginning to feel the pressure of the move? Between the contract on the new house and offers on yours, I'm sure she is beginning to get stressed

We are packing up and getting ready to hit the road in the next hour. Just stopped to say hi. We'll have our laptops so I'll be checking in every once in a while. I'm quite excited. I didn't get anywhere near the work done that I was supposed to so I'll have to do some while I'm down there. Take care.

Have a wonderful trip and try NOT to work :goodvibes

Welcome home. I can't wait to hear more trip details.

I actually enjoyed Girl Scouts tonight, why, because I didn't have to lead!! I got to sit and do paperwork and go over our calendar with the parents. I have lead the last 5 meetings and while I don't mind, I was burnt out. It was actually fun.

I'm exhausted and as soon as I get the laundry into the dryer I will be hitting the sheets.

Get well all of you that are feeling under the weather. That being said please do not send it my way as I simply don't have time to deal with it.

Glad you were able to enjoy tonight!

Heidi - welcome home! I am glad you had a good time and liked POFQ! :goodvibes

Bernadette - that was quest for a camera!

Becky - sorry about the ticket... I think it is time for a vacation. You are due! ::yes::

Vicky - I know I missed you and Chuck, but I hope you have a great time and GOOD LUCK with the Princess run! :thumbsup2

Debbie - glad you got most of your ADRs taken care of! :)

I hear you, Deb. I refuse to let this get me down again. I simply do not have time (or patience) for it this time! :sad2:

With that in mind I think I will take good drugs and go to bed early. Good night, friends!

I am being a cheapie & not wanting to pay the luggage fees. Now when I travel with the boys, that will be a different story!

The $30 for the bag was 1/3 of the cost of my airfare. I decided to spend the extra. It is pretty pathetic that the fee for bags is the same as one way of my ticket.

I finally booked a hotel for my last night. I decided I did not want to extend my stay on property as it would have been almost $200 for one night. When all I would be doing is crash there, as I need to get up and be at the airport by like 6am. I am staying about 12 miles away from the Sanford airport. So it will be a much shorter trip to the airport as well.:thumbsup2 Which is definitely a positive for this non-morning person.

Are you flying into Sanford?

Are you flying into Sanford?

Yep! I have not flown into MCO for several years. I can get a direct flight to Sanford. If I fly out of Philly I have to get a connecting flight to MCO.

I flew into Sanford once, I really like the airport. Nice & small, easy in & easy out!

I know the feeling. In my pictures it looks like I'm always wearing the same clothes.

I feel the same way. Perhaps we should learn to PhotoShop new clothes on ourselves. ;)

Well, the parents are thinking, "I paid for that lesson, and by gum I am going to get that lesson!" The thing is, we offer makeup times for both classes as well as private lessons but it is not always as convenient for the parent. These are also the first parents who would be asking when I was going to make up a class if (God forbid) I should get sick and have to cancel!!

Unfortunately I didn't get the extra sleep. My phone kept ringing! Some calls were actually parents letting me know that Junior or Missy wouldn't be in class tonight because they have 1) the flu, 2) strep, 3) a fever! Hallelujah! for some bright parents. :goodvibes

Of course, if they were being really nice parents they would have emailed me instead so I could have slept...

I am glad you got a nap in, though!! :thumbsup2

Ick - sorry to hear that. Well, at least you won't have as many sick kids to deal with. :wizard: :wizard: that you can kick whatever is ailing you!

Hi, all. Things here are going about as I expected. I got worse yesterday afternoon, chills and fever, etc., and by the time the kids got home from school, I was down for the count. Katie took care of the baby and all the other kids until Alan got home. He took over then, and kept Timothy with him in the guest room so I could sleep. I felt a bit better this morning, but not 100%. However, mom's can't be sick, I guess. Mary decided it was her turn. She's running a fever and throwing up, so she's home with me. I've got her in one room, Timothy in another, and myself running in between the two. I would have liked another day to rest and recuperate, but it's not to be.

However, Alan doesn't work tomorrow, so I'm planning on resting tomorrow and letting him deal with any sick kids that crop up between now and then. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that this is going to hit us all. I'm pretty sure that Timothy already had his share on Sunday, as he threw up everything 5 minutes after eating. I'm hoping that he's done. He has been sleeping a lot more lately, so I know he's still feeling the after effects. So, that leaves Katie, Jacob and Leslie. Keep your fingers crossed for us. My dad is coming up for a visit on Saturday, and we need to be healthy for that.

Glynis - I'm so sorry to read this. Lots of :wizard: :wizard: for your household.

I was a little early....it but I was done a couple hours ago. It was interview by committee and I have given up trying to figure out if the interviews went well or not!:sad2:

I hope you hear great news soon! :wizard: :wizard:

Thanks for all the well wishes...Em's ear infection isn't gone :( So it's another round of antibiotics for her. By the time we got to the doctor's Lu's eyes were draining thick yellow gunk. :scared: Her ears were clear, for now. Usually though, the day after her nose starts running she ends up with an ear infection. So our ped gave me a prescription to fill if I feel she has one. I love that she trusts me enough to know my daughter! No necessary trip to the clinic this weekend.

I sure hope that the sickies leave the DDA soon!!! :wizard:

Poor things. :wizard: :wizard: for you guys, too!

We are packing up and getting ready to hit the road in the next hour. Just stopped to say hi. We'll have our laptops so I'll be checking in every once in a while. I'm quite excited. I didn't get anywhere near the work done that I was supposed to so I'll have to do some while I'm down there. Take care.

Wow - I didn't know you were leaving so soon! Have a fabulous trip, and good luck in the race!

Umm, I'm 34 and my parents are still not comfortable in the car with me. 's

My mother feels the same way. I drive just like my dad, though, so he has no complaints.

Well, I tried calling this morning, first try my phone dropped the call, the second call the CM couldn't get anything to come up so he transferred me, I didn't have time to keep waiting.

Lunch at Whispering Canyon

Lunch at Sci Fi

Breakfast at Ohana

We will have the kitchenette in the suite and I plan on having some of our meals there, with the TIW card we may even take a bus to a value food court once or twice.

Debbie - I'm glad you were finally able to get through! I didn't even pay much attention to the system this morning - I always press the button that I'm already in Orlando to bypass most of the system. I guess I should consider myself lucky that we're leaving on 5/25!

Just wanted to mention - don't forget that (last I checked) the TIW card is accepted at Artist's Palette, the CS at Saratoga Springs - I'm pretty sure there's a boat launch between OKW and SSR. We like the food there, so you might want to check out the menu. :thumbsup2

Hey - maybe they'll get in a bidding war over you! :thumbsup2

Abi had callbacks today for her school's musical....we are just waiting to hear what part she is playing (and what musical it will be as the teacher changed it today because there weren't enough kids who could sing).

Oh my...:scared:

I hope it all works out!! :wizard:

Hope everyone is feeling better real soon!!!!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I've been adding borders to my photopass pictures and I think this time may have actually pushed me over the edge to insanity. It is the only way to explain yesterday's events.

When I was in WDW in Jan my friend Terry had a new small pocket size Sony camera that she bought at Target for $129. I looked it up at Target and BJ's online when I got home and both were $129. I finally uploaded the pictures Lizzy took at WDW on my old little Sony camera and the spot that has been on the sensor since at least May 2006 is now much worse. The Sony Terry bought would take memory I already have, is 8mp, 5x zoom, has image stabilizer and optical view finder. So I decide I should get that.

I look on Target.com and they don't have it. BJ's and Staples both want $229 for it, Amazon $179. I call the Sony outlet and they have a model up for $162. This model has been discontinued but the replacements aren't available yet. I decide to go look at a Target store. I go to one at lunch yesterday and they only have one a model down for $99 in pink.:sad2: So I ask them to see if they can find the one I want at another Target. They find one and have it put aside for me.

After work yesterday I drive to that Target (someplace I've never been) about 10 miles from my office. I get there and the price is $229.:scared1: I wasn't paying that. So I stop at BJ's on my way home and they have it for $117.90. I pay for it and they can't find it. So they call and find it in the BJ's near the Target I went to at lunch. I drive the 14 miles there and you would have thought I would have known to asked the price this time. It was $159.90 and even though I had the receipt showing the purchase & refund at the other store they wouldn't match.:headache:

I just wasn't in the mood to go home empty handed so I drive to the Sony outlet to pay $2 more for a better camera. I get there and the outlets are on winter hours and closed at 6:00pm. When I got home I discover that last night was the last night of winter hours.

BUT....I did call my sister when I was at the 2nd BJ's. She lives near the outlets so she met me there and we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast for dinner. We had a really nice time!!!!!!

I get in my car and drive 40 miles home.

I couldn't sleep when I got home so I looked up all the specs on the model I wanted and the one a step down. They really weren't all that different-the model down was 7.2 mp, 4x zoom. I went back to the first BJ's today and bought that model in SILVER for $95. I get a flyer from BJ's in the mail today and it is in it for $169.99.

I've got to admit it was all kind of funny.

OK....off to go work on more borders......

Bernadette - my head hurts now. It's like reading Elizabeth's resort switching from last summer. ;) Glad it all worked out for you, though!

I think menu planning is in order, so I have things I can pack for both lunch and dinner on days I need 2-3 meals on the go. But that will be later. I have a trip to get ready for.

I'm sorry to hear about the ticket, Becky. You so need this trip!!

Welcome home, Heidi! Congrats on the free upgrade at POFQ; sorry about the buses. You know, we had more towel animals at CBR in 2 days than I've ever had at any other resort. One day they left a little mama bear holding a baby bear on the bed I was sleeping in, and my mother deemed it a sign.

Sorry to hear about your bird encounter. :sad2: Yay for a mostly great trip, it sounds like! :yay:

We had mac and cheese too, but with shake and bake chicken.

This is the meal we ALMOST had at my house, but I got home from the grocery store later than anticipated, so it was salad and french bread pizzas.

I'm exhausted and as soon as I get the laundry into the dryer I will be hitting the sheets.

Get well all of you that are feeling under the weather. That being said please do not send it my way as I simply don't have time to deal with it.

:wizard: :wizard: for a good night's sleep for you, Deb. How did today go with doing both jobs?

Well, today was a blah day here. I was kind of feeling off most of the day (I should have just stayed up from my early ADR call), and then I got a call from J this afternoon that he had a flat tire, and his tools didn't match up to the lug nuts on the tire. Fortunately, he wasn't too far away, so I drove over there to see if the tools in my car would work. Well, they didn't fit, either, and he was in a very, very foul mood. I can see why he was frustrated (plus it was like 86 here today and he had on a brand new suit), but he was short with me, and I just wasn't in the mood today. I was more mad, but then I started crying (damn these pregnancy hormones). That made him feel bad and he did apologize, but it just kind of put a sour note on the rest of the day.

We called for the roadside assistance (which is paid for by his company since it's their car), and I stayed with the car while he went to an appt. around the corner. Then, I had to go run the errands I had been on my way to do, but was now 90 mins. behind. All in all, I'm glad to see the end of Thursday. Time for bed now.

Hope the DDA is all having sweet dreams! :cloud9:
