DDA Chapter 18

Thanks for all the Yays and WTGs for Alyssa. I'm quite proud of her. It seems though, that her honesty is a bit self-serving. When I was at her parent-teacher conference her teacher told me that if she hears chattering and such when her back is to the class, she will turn around and ask who was doing the talking. If it was Alyssa, she will raise her hand and admit to it. Her teacher then gives rewards for honesty, and various other things. A ticket. Once students have collected enough tickets they get a trip to the treasure box. Alyssa has learned how to play the system. This morning, after our 'issue', I asked Alyssa how come she's honest in school and not with me. Her reply.......because I want to go to the treasure box. So if I catch her lying to me again we have an agreement that she will turn her award over to me and I will keep it until I feel she is deserving of it again.

My Mom threw a little party for my Dad's birthday. I think he enjoyed it.

I'm feeling better tonight. Hopefully it will continue this way as I've been asked to sub full day tomorrow. I'm also working at the restaurant tomorrow night.

Good evening DDA! It is COLD here! But not as cold as Ohio!:)

Had a wonderful day and a nice evening.

We had dinner at Tony's and ended up with a magical moment.

The staff and management at Tony's loved our outfits. They just all had to come over to our table to see Leighanna. They asked us if we collected Lady and the Tramp stuff, and we said that Leighanna has one stuffed Lady, but no Tramp yet.
As we were finishing up, our server told us to wait a second, and that they wanted to do something for Leighanna. A little later a server came over and gave us a whole stack of Lady and the Tramp stickers, and told us to be quiet about it or the other kids there would want that many too.
We thought that was our something special, and got up. Our server ran over and told us to wait in the lobby. We told her that we already got our stickers, and thanked her! She said NO! We have something else planned.

A little later a CM came over and handed Leighanna a bag. Inside the bag was a stuffed Tramp, and a whole set of Lady and the Tramp pins! What a great surprise!

Although our meal was just O.K., the wait staff were tremendous.

Time to hit the hay! We are all exhausted, and everyone else is asleep. We have a breakfast planned in the morning, so I best rest!
Oh, Anne Marie! Even though it was freezing we couldn't resist!

How cool!!! Sounds like you're having a great time! Stay warm!

I am fighting a massive migraine. I haven't had one that has affected me this way in a very long time. So I will bid you all good night!
pixiedust: Hope you find relief quickly!!!!

I uploaded a bunch more photos but really have to go to bed!

Oh Tammi, what a smart cookie Miss Alyssa is! Good luck ;) :goodvibes:

Please send a little prayer up for my girls, especially Avery. This is just getting ridiculous. She just thrashes and cries and writhes in her sleep, even right out of my arms if I try to rock her, with what appears to be belly pain, but who really knows? I hate that I can't do anything for her! And I hate that none of us have slept in 3 days (including naps)! :guilty: If she's in the pain that I've been in (and others I know), I just can't imagine ... :sad2:

Meanwhile, Kyle is just snoring away next to me. Oh my gosh, how do people deal with snoring?! He doesn't usually unless he's sick but I want to throw him out the window. For real.

I'm not at all upset that he's sleeping, considering he's been working 20 hours at a time, on all sorts of shifts, etc for our family... but it sure doesn't make it an easier to get even a few minutes of sleep between baby fits!

I hope the little ones are feeling better, DH has a history of snoring, if he was really tired you could hear him in another room even. :grouphug:

Last night for Scouts we took the girls to this local ice cream shop where the owner gave them a tour and showed them how to make ice cream. Yum!! We made rocky road. And then everyone got a scoop or 2 of ice cream. I broke down and bought a single scoop of chocolate peanut butter swirl, it was delicious. But I could literally eat only 3-4 spoonfuls, it was just too rich.

Tonight Emma and Eric and have a Father/Daughter dance. The theme is Country Western, why can't they just make it simple and theme-less.

How wonderful, congratulations to Alyssa :cheer2:

Yay for Alyssa! :goodvibes
