DDA Chapter 17

Another great instalment, Marci. You sure got some fun pictures.

Definitely ditto!

Morning, DDA! :wave2:

Well, it seems that Craig has come around to my way of thinking ::yes:: We're now looking at May. Of course, it all had to do with the price of airfare is outrageous for March. LOL

May is my favorite time of year to be there. I know that you will have a magical time!

Good Morning, DDA!!

Today is our hockey game in a suite day....so I am getting excited for that.
Hopefully the icky storm is done for everybody and the weather will be nice for the weekend.

Sounds like fun, Theresa!

what? You have never heard of "BEWARE OF THE POGONIP"

I have heard of freezing fog but never experienced it. I think that the humidity is too low in the winter for us to have freezing fog. We have plenty of spring, summer, and fall fog. I have never heard of the pogonip, though. :rotfl:

Just wanted to let you know that the surgery yesterday went well for my cousin and she was home that same day. The doctor did say however that had they waited just one more day to do the surgery that her one eardrum would have burst. Thanks for all the pixiedust you all sent. :)

I hope that her recovery is quick and easy, too!

did you hear the woman how gave birth to 8...has 6 kids already?! :faint:

:faint: is right!

Well, Erin showed up over here today for a little while. All I have to say is that I will not feel guilty. It didn't go terribly bad, but her response was a very exasperated, fed up (but not just with me, I know) "I guess I'll just tell them that I can't work Saturdays anymore." She did go on to say that it wasn't just me, she's tired of the way her work Saturdays have been going. But she also threw in a few "because I don't have anyone else" and "I don't have another options." I figure I've got to take it all with a grain of salt and let it slide off my back. Not always easy because, as I'm sure she knows, I feel guilty pretty easily. It was almost a little tempting to give in a little, but I knew that I just couldn't. Not for me sanity and not for the sake of my family. Instead, I just reiterrated my willingness to help on a certain Saturday of the month. Offered to do so on the 1st Saturday and still help this Saturday since it's short notice. That would give her a little over a week to make other arrangements. Now to just remind myself, I should not feel guilty and make plans with Terra for the first Saturday after that. :)

Please don't feel guilty, and have lots of fun with Terra.

I totally agree with Glynis.

Well, I just checked my emails....it didn't take long to get the thanks but no thanks email from yesterday. BLECH!!:crazy2:
 Oh, Theresa, I'm so sorry. My prayers will be with you.

So we got an offer on the house. A very low offer.:p Dana's company will not accept it nor will we. Open house Saturday & 3 showings before that so there is lots of activity (we had lowered the price a few weeks ago).

Whatever happens I want to stay til the end of June so the kids can finish the school year.

Work was actually busy today. It has been like a ghost town in our mall lately. Our McDonalds closed & the Gap left too. The mall now has lots of tween tee shirt places & junk shops.:crazy2:

I'm sorry that the offer was so low. :wizard: that you get the perfect offer and the perfect time!

Yesterday was NOT a good day. After the dental appointment, which was no fun. The tooth broke as she was pulling it, she had to drill into the roots and screw something into it to pull it out. No wonder I am petrified of the dentist, I stopped and got my pain meds on the way home so that I could start them before the numbness wore off, the meds made me ill so I spent the evening throwing up and hurting.

Thankfully today was much better, I went to work and took OTC meds and they worked well enough for me to stay all day. Now I have to force myself to make another appointment to get the other tooth fixed that I have also lost a filling from before it gets to the root canal or extraction phase.

That sounds horrible! I am glad that you were better yesterday, and I hope that today is even better.

Isn't she pretty?

I'll be sporting this around my neck in a little over 5 weeks time.

:cheer2: What a terrific accomplishment that will be.

Prayers needed: Chuck's mom is in the hospital again. She had another reaction to her pain meds. They just can't get them right. They keep zonking her out where she has trouble waking up.

Prayers and pixiedust: for her.

Tammi, I hope you have a good time this June at the shore. I am getting so excited for our trip, since all my kids will be there. We got the same place we had last year!!! Steve and his girlfriend are driving up from Fla. We have already started planning our menus for the week. Plus we want to do a family portrait again this year. That means planning what we all are going to wear. Must be matching!!!

I think I have everyone thinking about going Parasailing. Hal and the guys want to take the little boys out again on a boat and go crabbing. They really had fun last year.

That sounds like a wonderful time!

Has anyone heard of or taken their kids to a class at Young Chefs Academy? They are all over the country. We have one here in town, owned by a coworker and his wife. In case you are interested, here is info on what it is.

I made ressies for my kids for this. Bethany will be with her mom, so it's a perfect Valentine's present for both my kids and Bob.

They are so excited about it. I'm not supposed to tell Bob about it. They prepare the food, set the table, serve the parents, and then sit down to eat with us. Alyssa wants to have her birthday party there. They have a cheese and chocolate fondue party that she wants to have.

That sounds terrific, Tammi! I wish that we had something like that around here.

I need prayers for Becky. She is not making good decisions in her life. She is engaged and plans to get married on December 5. This is to a guy who doesn't seem to know how to tell the truth. I don't want to go into details but just pray that she comes to her senses and sees him for what he is.

 I am so sorry. I will keep her (and you) in my prayers.

Did I mention that my boss called tonight to see if I was okay? Apparently I was supposed to work tonight. Of course when I called to check my schedule they told me Tues, Thursday and Friday and I wrote it down while I was still on the phone. I had also checked the "schedule in progress" while I was still at work on Sunday night. Boss admitted that he originally had me scheduled for Friday, but then switched me to Thursday. I'm guessing he made the change after I called. In any event I didn't work tonight and I am not scheduled for Tomorrow  Apparently it was not busy tonight and they were fine without me anyway. Why he called at 8:30 PM instead of 4:30 PM is beyond me. So I don't work again until Sunday. I guess I wouldn't have made much anyway...right?

He probably realized that it was going to be slow and didn't want to have to pay you. I'm sorry that you don't have tonight.

Ear infection. My kids would scream if we put them in the swing when they had ear aches :grouphug: Maybe just a growth spurt. Does tylenol help?

Laura had ear infections all winter long when she was little, and they always started at night. The only things that seemed to help her were nursing and sleeping upright on me. I spent many a long night in the recliner (though not really reclined).

Good morning, DDA!

Got to hit the ground running this morning! This birthday deal is morphing into quite the monster. I had one mom call last night, 2 others e-mailed. One wants to drop off her son's overnight bag here at our house this morning. I hope she times that carefully or there won't be anybody home! I replied that we should just meet her at school to get the bag. Ugh!

I need to print off driving directions. We know kind of where Great Wolf is (across from Bass Pro) but I have never driven TO Great Wolf.

I'll pop in later!

Have a fun birthday party!!!

Theresa good luck with the test today!

Glynis hope Timothy is better!

Chanon I hope you & Bob made it home safely!

Elizabeth I hope everyone has a wonderful time tonight!

Vicki- pixiedust: for Chuck's mom and :grouphug:'s for you and Chuck. pixiedust: that Becky makes the right decision.

Theresa- I am so sorry, but the right job is out there for you.pixiedust: Glad you all fun at the game.

Debbie- So sorry about all the dental woes.

Glynis- I hope Timothy had a good night last night. pixiedust:

Elizabeth- Hope DS's party is a smashing success tonight!!!!

Tia- Hmm, maybe a trip to Target is in store for me this weekend, all by myself.

Tammi- That cooking academy looks like a fabulous thing. I wish we had one closer.

Deb- Yay for your aquatics center membership.

For anyone I may have missed. pixiedust: and :grouphug:'s

Brownies last night was just a tad overwhelming. I don't know if it was the fact the kids had been out of school for 3 days or that I just was not up to controlling them last night or that my helper was not there to reign in the girls. What ever it was, I got home at 9pm and was in bed by 9:30.

Today is another day that is off our routine. Eric is home and getting ready to leave this afternoon. Once all my daycare kiddos arrive I am packing them up and headed over to my sisters. She has an appointment so I will watch the 4 I have and the 2 she watches. Eric will take Mo to school and then I'll get her and also Emma and Allyson when then get out. I am pretty sure that with all the commotion there will be no naps and a general craziness to the day. Thank goodness I will be ALONE tonight!!

I am off to shower and get ready for the day. Make it a great one!!

Good luck with all the kids today!

Glynis -- I hope Timothy is better today and you enjoyed your rest. Good for Alan!

To Elizabeth's DS for his birthday and GWL:

party: party: Happy 13th Birthday! party:

Elin, did you know this? Maybe it has something to do with the less the exemplar service on Christmas Day.

As a Chef de Cuisine, Brian lead the culinary teams at Epcot’s Le Cellier and Rose and Crown complex. Most recently, as Chef de Cuisine at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Brian has worked extensively on the opening operational aspects for the upcoming Kidani Village project.

Morning DDA!

Our drive was quite fun. :faint: We had no time to do our driveway - which had gotten 8 inches in 12 hours. We made a path wide enough to get my car up the driveway and in the garage and left. The turnpike was clear so our travel time didn't get extended at all. Despite the reason for traveling to Detroit, it was a good visit.

Looks like I'm sending a blanket of pixiedust: to everyone!
