DDA Chapter 17

Terry how are you feeling today & how is Stephanie?

I am going to ask for some spare pixie dust for a close family friend, our Godson's father. Terry was diagnosed a few months back with increased intercranial fluid. Basically he has an excess of spinal fluid and it has led to severe headaches that he has found very little relief from the medicine used to treat it. He has had 3 spinal taps to determine how much fluid he has, his last one was registered at 46. A normal reading is no more than 12. Ironically, I had the same diagnosis just about 3 1/2 years ago but mine was controlled with medicine and my only side effect was in regards to my vision.

He was supposed to have surgery this coming Friday where they will put a shunt into his head that will continously drain the fluid. He called me yesterday saying that the pain/pressure had become unbearable and was going up to the hospital. His dr. is now deciding if they are going to do the surgery today. So I'm hoping that I can count on all of you to keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers today. If they do surgery I will be headed up to there to be with my girlfriend.

At some point today, I also need to decorate 2 cakes for Dana's DD, Syd. Her birthday party is tomorrow and since there will be close to 70 people there I took the easy way out and ordered 2 cakes from Costco that I will just decorate with Tinkerbell.

You've got it, Robyn. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: I hope they can do the surgery today so that he can finally have some relief!

Good Morning DDA

I am feeling a bit better today. Lots of sleep helped.

When it comes to putting together my potato salad for the party, I will have Hal actually mix the ingredients.

Our cats have their back claws and I have a few good scars from them!!! Just on the legs and arms tho'

Hey Amy, can you give us some info on the new AI Eperience? Like how it's set up, how you get chosen, etc. etc. TIA!

Elizabeth I hope your eye heals quickly!

Robyn you are doing great on your weight loss :thumbsup2

I really do feel much better today, I should have went to work. Gary finally ate last night & he looks much better this morning as well. Garrett is the only one who has not been hit by this, hopefully he will be spared!

Thanks Janet.

I think that another day at home though will be good for you.

Glad to hear you are feeling better! Yes sleep does help, I think that was all I did yesterday.

Our youngest cat Mia uses her back claws a lot, they are deadly lol

Mmmm, potato salad, I love potato salad :goodvibes

Can you tell I am hungry today :rotfl:

Good morning DDA!

Hope everyone that has had the sickies are feeling better today!

I refuse to get sick anymore, especially this close to our trip!

Our cats still have their claws. I am looking at some scratches on my hands now as I type!

Patches is the worst one! She likes to pounce on us while we are in bed. I had a lovely scratch on my face for awhile!

I'm not Amy, I haven't caught up, and I can't right now. Still, I noticed this when the page opened and wanted to direct you to an AWESOME mouseplanet article about all the details -- including a song list, what each round of auditions is like, and what the earlier shows (with 3 contestants) is like, how your day is structured if you go to the final show, etc. It's a great resource if you're interested!

I really should go and be productive in case I need to head out. I can at least make up my icing for tonight and do some laundry.

Many good thoughts for all of you!! pixiedust:

Aurora has back claws, but she has never stepped in my eye with them so it's not a problem! :rotfl2:

OK, I have sorted out one prong of my photo issue. The photos are in 2 places - Windows Gallery and another thing called Elizabeth - Pictures. When I try to move images to PhotoBucket the only place to choose them from is Elizabeth - Pictures. I can not for the life of me figure out how to move images FROM Gallery into Pictures. There has to be a way to do it. I am also not sure why all of our new pics go in both places automatically? :confused3

I'll be back to catch up later, I hope. For now I have to get off and work around the house. When I'm on the computer, I just reread and email from my MIL (and my snarky response ) and get irritated. I'm going to channel Amy (whose facebook status yesterday was something about taking out her frustration on the Dyson) and work elsewhere.

:offtopic:
Long story short, she emailed last night and said they wanted to come visit this weekend. I kid you not, included in the email was "any time is fine, although we can't really do Sunday and we can't stay later than 2 on Saturday". Um... so you meant Saturday morning is fine. Sorry, Kyle's on call. I told her just that, very nicely, and that - unfortunately for her - we just need more notice. This is not a new thing, we've had this conversation since we got married. We've had the conversation a hundred times since the girls were born, but then again she doesn't ever listen to anything she doesn't want to hear.

The reply? A GIANT serving of guilt (in which I did not partake :snooty: ) and a plea to "squeeze us in if we ever find the time" .

I know it's not a big deal, but she just got under my skin. (What's new, really?) In my original reply I had made it clear that the reason she couldn't come down is because of lack of notice. We have plans, we aren't changing them. Kyle thought I needed to be more clear, but I thought the declination of her request was clear enough. Apparently not, considering she whined about how we can't make time for her, she never gets to see her grandchildren (I'm sorry, some people have to go more than 3 weeks even, when they don't live in town. Heck, my parents go that long and they live 10 minutes away!)

This time, however, I was PERFECTLY clear in my reply. :rolleyes1

Ugh!

I'm off to listen to live365 and be happy. I have hooked my computer to our Bose System and I can blare it in beautiful sound throughout the house! :yay: Why didn't I think of that before?! Disney Park Music sounds infinitely better when not coming through our crappy computer speakers! :thumbsup2
