DDA Chapter 17

please do....I am sure the girl will appreciate it. Make sure that it has the pin and wrist option so that she can choose where to wear it.

When is the dance?

I think it is the 13th, but I could be wrong. Garrett is not sure of the date & it is not posted on the school website yet.

Jennifer - One of my ex-employers had a garden. He grew peppers, onions, garlic, and tomatoes. The squirrels took most of the tomatoes. I would go to a local nursery and ask them what will grow well in your soil/climate.

Well $185 later I have Blue back home. She was given a steroid shot & we need to give her antibiotics & pretizone(sp). When she has another bad attack we will have to take her back for another shot.

Other than this she is in perfect health :thumbsup2

that is sweet...a true Valentine's Day dance. That will give me time to put up the pictures from Cass's semi-formal next week. :goodvibes

Pearl seems to be better today...I will take her in on Monday unless she gets worse.

I forgot to say...YEAH!! for a fairly simple vet visit

I am glad she is doing better! :)

Theresa - I hope Pearl continues to improve!

Also, if this is your first time creating a garden, you might have to really work the soil, or add to it, to make it conducive to getting anything to grow well. Don't give up after your first year. The soil takes time to become fertile.

Ouch! :scared:

Hi, all!

It seems like lots of pixiedust: is needed around the DDA!

I'm a little nervous at the moment, because I know that IBM is announcing layoffs today and that our area is definitely impacted. I can't reach dh at the moment which is even worse.

I have read back a little, and I'm trying to remember exactly what I wanted to say...

Happy Belated Birthday to Glynis!

Janet, I hope that your cat doesn't need any more vet visits, and Theresa, I hope your kitty is doing better.

Elin, I'm so sorry about Bob's pay cut.

Tammi, GWL sounds like a fun trip, especially this time of year!

Deb, I hope you feel better soon and have a terrific time at Disney on Ice!

I know that there is more, but apparently my brain is somewhere else at the moment!

I found an article on the newspaper's website that 6 were affected by the IBM layoffs here. That is awful for those 6, but I think they may have known prior to today. I know that someone dh knows was told several days ago. I'll still be nervous until I can get in touch with him.

ETA: Oops, I was looking at an old article, so I don't really know anything...

Here's the fleece hoodie I made Lizzy. I found the Pooh fleece as a remnant on Black Friday. Now it can be nice and warm when we go to Disney. My countdown is wrong. I only have 5 days. I never fixed it after I added a night with the 7 for 4 deal. I'm a bit :scared1: and a lot :yay: I'm so excited to be returning to the Poly!!!

That is wonderful, Bernadette! I know Lizzy will love it.

In other news, I am the proud owner of round trip airfare to Florida for March 2-10. I figured you only live once. It was only a bit over $100. Had I convinced myself I did not need a checked bag, it would have been $30 less. Now to figure out other details. I also found out they have a kiosk at the mall I could have went to instead of dealing with going to the airport to avoid the online booking fee.

Congrats on the trip!!! What kind of plans are you making?

Well, that's the thing. The new semester started yesterday and they put the kids from PE into a computer applications class. I called his counselor because I would have SWORN PE was a year long elective. She said PE is a semester and computer is a semester. Computer is mandatory for all 7th graders. Huh. OK, whatever.
So he isn't in class with the coaches anymore. BUT the asst. principal had him submit a written statement about the betting, the fact that nobody was in the locker room supervising the boys the day DS was backed into a corner and threatened by a bully, the fact that the coach uses inappropriate language (never met a coach who didn't, but maybe that was more in high school). They are so building a case to terminate this guy.

I am tempted to keep DS home tomorrow. Just give him a freebie day and write a note saying he wasn't feeling well. Then I can talk to the principal or whoever and know that DS is safe with me. What do you guys think?

What a mess! I hope that DS had a good day at school. I don't blame you for being careful, though.

Hi all,

Thanks so much for virtually keeping me company tonight (although I'm fairly certain the majority of you are asleep at this hour)! I really needed to get my mind off of RL for a bit, and catching up on tens of pages of DDA chatter was refreshing. So, even though I didn't respond, thank you so much for being there, and a huge dose of :wizard: :grouphug: for all, particularly for all of those fighting sickness. And, a happy birthday to Glynis!

What a day for you. I'm so glad that Jonathan's job was spared. It must have been nervewracking for you all, though. Enjoy your trip!!

Lots of sickies still running around. Elin, Stephanie, Janet, Gary, Deb and everyone else still under the weather...

FEEL BETTER SOON!!!!

It looks like I've missed a few things...

Becky, :cheer2: for Florida airfare!

Elizabeth, I hope that everything is ok with your ds. That sounds scary!

Lindsey, I'm so sorry to read about your layoff and Jonathon's ordeal.

Dh finally checked in. He said nothing new. He thinks that no layoffs are ever going to actually be announced here. They are just quietly cutting people. He hasn't heard anything more about anyone that he knows (or himself).
