DDA Chapter 17

I made Hunter an appointment for Tomorrow at 11:40 AM. He told me yesterday that he wanted to go to the doctors, even if it meant having to have blood drawn:sad2: That is when I knew it was time to call. It has really been just the last couple of weeks. My mother said this morning that she has been having a lot of dizziness the last couple of weeks too. Now I'm praying that it is just viral and that it will disappear really soon. We will get things checked out just to be safe.

Deb, :wizard: :wizard: for Hunter's appt. tomorrow. I hope the problem is easily diagnosed and treated. for you both.

My mother is coming over this afternoon. They signed up for the comcast Triple play last December. There was a special rate for the first year of $99. They just got their first bill at the "regular" rates and it went up to over $200 per month. She thinks that she has charges for items that they don't even have. To make things worse the service wasn't great last year as they had to have the technician come out at least 5 times and they went through 11 cable boxes :confused3 We'll see what we can do on that one.

Does that include other services (internet, phone), or just cable TV?

We had to have Comcast in one of our apts. years back, and it was the worst experience - they were awful. We've always been DirecTV fans, and when we moved into our house, it made the decision easy between cable and satellite when we heard Comcast would be our only cable choice. They are ridiculously high. I hope you guys can get her bill sorted out, and lowered!

Thanks! :)

So I was reading some reviews of Great Wolf last night and a couple of people mentioned getting a AAA discount. Hmmm. I just called them and I got $44 back! That will come in handy if I have to pay the $60 upcharge for having 8 people in the room! :thumbsup2 I didn't even think to ask about a AAA rate when I booked the room. The guy said there are no "local resident" rates, he didn't tell me there was a AAA rate. He also didn't offer to send me a confirmation e-mail, which the girl today did offer. Very cool!

Got to love found money! :yay:

It is so cold outside. I think the high today is 28 degrees, but we are at 7 now and the cold front hasn't moved through yet:confused3 . There are also snow storms that should be pushing through before the cold front. Snowboarding tomorrow is going to be so cold. It is supposed to be sunny, with a high of 4 degrees. I need to pull everything out and get it into piles by kid, that will end up saving me a bunch of time tomorrow.

Yikes - that is cold!!!!! Stay warm!

okay for the amount of sleep I haven't gotten in the last 3 nights. No big headache but I have an ear that seems to be perpetually clogged with wax. There are no jobs to apply for today and I am ticked at my family. Okay....just got some of my grumpiness out. ;)

Hmm.

I just got an e-mail from a family we know from DS's school. They bought a house to use as a rental, and they are asking if we are interested in looking at it. The house would be the same price as what we pay in rent + storage unit. We would need to buy a dryer, but the other appliances are included. It sounds really nice.

If we were closer to the end of our lease I would JUMP at this. I am worried about what kind of penalty we will owe if we break our lease. :scared: We still have 5 months left, so we really are nowhere near the end. I called DH and he thinks we should definitely go take a look at the house and go from there.

That could be exciting! :)

Are you still having issues with noise from your neighbors? We had terrible issues with upstairs neighbors at our final apt., and the leasing company gave us paperwork that we could break our lease at any time, which made finding/timing a move to a house that much easier. Granted, our issues were excessive, but perhaps if you're having issues, they might be willing to work with you.

I tried one of the Hostess 100 calorie strawberry cakes last night & it was so good! It is a good thing they are small, because I could have eaten a lot more lol

Oh, goody - I'm glad to hear an endorsement of these! I have a coupon for them and was looking at the strawberry ones at the store today, but didn't want to be disappointed. Now, I'll try them for myself. :thumbsup2

Well, I am The Worst Mom Ever.
I COMPLETELY forgot to go get DS. They have early release every day this week because of exams. I knew that, but I got all wrapped up in the house thing. I asked Princess if she was getting hungry. She said "Hungry for what?" I said, "Lunch." She said "I thought we were going to go get DS!" :scared1: YIKES! It was 12:26 and DS got out at 12:20. As I was pulling up at the school my phone was ringing - DS was calling me from the office because he didn't have his phone. :sad2: There were still a ton of kids outside and the carpool circle was a madhouse. I am so glad Princess said something or we would have been even later!

I think we can manage the house if we like it. It would be expensive to get out of our lease, but not prohibitively expensive. It would just mean NOT paying off my Chase card right now and using our tax money for expenses related to moving - lease penalty, security deposit on the new place, buying a dryer, paying for movers and whatever other expenses we incur transferring our utilities and that sort of thing.

The house is in a different school district. I was looking at the website for the high school and it is incredible. It looks like a much better school than the one he would go to if we don't move. They have a MUCH stronger band program, a visual arts/technology program, all sorts of things that I think DS would really enjoy. I think he wants to go to 8th grade at his current school, then switch for high school. Of course all of this is cart before the horse (or school before the house) because we might not like the house and/or the neighborhood. :confused3

Wow - glad Princess was there to keep you straight. ;)

Good luck with the house details! If you like it, you'll have to send me the address so I can look it up. :thumbsup2

I took a very needed nap...and missed an employment call...just called back, left a message. He just called back...I am going to look at the operation tomorrow afternoon. See if it's a fit for us both.

It is just part time right now but a fairly decent wage and I would be the first one in the position, which means it' would be mine to screw up;)

Well, that's very exciting and promising! Lots of :wizard: :wizard: for your meeting with him tomorrow.

Hey! I wonder if I could blame the Knocker for us wanting to move out? Maybe they would waive the fee!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Theresa - :wizard: on the job aspect!

I could use some ear candling. Mine are always plugges up and I hate drs. so no wax removal in my future.

Thanks for keeping it down today. I'm coming down with a head cold. It's just one thing after another this winter. We've tuned into American Idol tonight. The auditions have started.

Ugh - lots of :wizard: that it goes away quickly.

Im with you on this. I have had a really rough couple of days between feeling sick, some family stuff, work stuff, and waiting on my friend from iraq and im just going nuts..which is part of the reason i havent been posting too much lately......is it spring yet?

I hope things begin looking up soon!

Thank goodness you all kept the posting down today. I am absolutely swamped with Festival paperwork and compositions and have almst no time to keep up. Lots of luck and PD to all of you! Good night!

  for you, too, Elin.

Another slow night down in the books. Of course all this free time has one of the owners determined to "fix" all of the problems. There are so many things that we used to do that no one has done in years. Suddenly he is wanting all of these things done. It isn't that big of a deal, but he really needs to make a list of responsibilities so that everyone is on the same page. It isn't fair that a couple of people hear from him do this or do that, but others don't get told anything. I'll do my part, but I won't do everyones.

Hunter was still awake when I got home (though he should have been sleeping). Apparently he had a case of the runs tonight. I am praying that the dizziness is related and that he just has a virus. I actually had a bit of dizziness while sitting on the couch when I got home :confused3 Hopefully we will know more tomorrow.

I'm sorry to hear it was another slow night at work. It sounds like you know how to speak your mind (and be heard) there, so hopefully the owners will take your suggestionns and things will begin improving.

More :wizard: :wizard: for Hunter. I'm sorry to hear the snow has started.

We were able to cut my parent's Comcast bill just about in half. They have phone/internet/tv all wrapped into one. They were able to choose less expensive plans in all 3 categories which brought the overall cost down significantly. My Dad is not pleased that we cancelled HBO on him, but for $20/mth for one channel it seems like a no brainer.

Well, it wasn't the day I was hoping it would be - I have a lot of housework to get done, but the days seem to just fly by right now.

When I turned on my desktop this morning, I thought it was either going to explode, or take-off. I was really afraid it was a hard drive issue, as I couldn't get anything to come up on the screen - not even a DOS prompt. After a trip to the Geek Squad, it appears to be the power source - they're installing it for me and running diagnostics, so hopefully I'll have it back tomorrow and it won't be any worse for the wear. Thank goodness we have a laptop, too - I think I might have broken out in hives if I couldn't get to the computer all day.

Afterwards, I went next door to Target for a few things, and just wandered around in there for a while - it's been a long time since I did that - used to just dashing in and out. It was nice to do that for a change.

Tia - our Target did have some giraffe-print things in a special "home improvements" section that was separate from the normal housewares. They had some wall pieces, a duvet/sham set, some cups and dishes, etc. It might be a bit mature (and/or pricey) for Terra's age, but just wanted to mention it in the event you wanted to check it out. Everything was 30% off.

Well, I'm going to sign off for the night. Catch you guys tomorrow!

Tammi, great pictures!

Theresa, hope you enjoy the job!

Debbie, I think a lot of employers are tightening their belts. It is getting scary out there.

Lindsay, so good to see you. Was just looking at our picture the other day.

Hugs and pixie dust to all.

My male BFF is out in California watching his aunt die. There is NO circumstance that I would want a feeding tube. None. Say it with me. None. No vent. Under NO circumstances. Say it with me. NONE!!!!

Okay, I'm off to bed now.

Wasn't it just going to be a nice drive to the country?????

Love you-----same here,,,no heroics

Lindsay - The house is directly north of Royal Oaks Country Club off of Greenville. We know people who live on the east side of Greenville, but the house is on the west side. We are going to go see it on Saturday, but we might have to drive by and scope out the neighborhood tomorrow.
I haven't complained about The Knocker in months, so I doubt they will accept that as a reason for us to move out. :rotfl2: The Knocker might be willing to pay the fee for us if it means DS and his drum will go away, though! :lmao:

I spoke to my mom this evening and everything went OK with her first radiation treatment. :thumbsup2 Hopefully the cumulative effects won't be too horrible.

Stephanie - Good thoughts to your friend. What a sad thing to go through.

Stephanie - I'm with you, too. No feeding tube. That would just become a long, slow death.

Elizabeth - glad to hear your mom is doing well today.

Deb - good luck at the appt. today.

Yes, I didn't see much mention of our little run-in again last week. ;) It was another close one, that was for sure!

But, my season was certainly made complete with another Sooner defeat last Thursday - and from Florida, our 2nd team, no less. :woohoo:

Florida, really?! I'm beginning to question this friendship............. :sad2:

:teeth:

Plenty of  for your friend.

I totally agree, and have told my family that I would come back and make their lives miserable if they even think about it.

I appreciate you all keeping the posting down.

Deb, I'm glad everything got resolved with Comcast. :wizard: for poor Hunter!

I think Avery and I were up about every 15 minutes last night, so it could be a long day. :guilty: Elise, on the other hand, had a normal night... and was raring to get up and play at 7:00 on the dot.

Have a great day, DDA!:goodvibes

Glad to hear the first treatment went well, continued good thoughts for her. :wizard: :wizard:

Deb :wizard: for the doctors appointment, hope they have an answer for you. Poor Hunter.

So has anyone done the Backstage Safari Tour? tell me all about it please.

Jennifer sorry that Avery had some issues last night  is there any chance for a nap today?
