Ouch! I remember after my hysterectomy the Dr. came in to take out my drain tube. He told me to take a deep breath & then he pulled. I thought I would faint :faint:

I told Garrett not to stay out to long, I don't want him freezing!

When they pulled Mom's drain out after her cancer surgery I was ASTOUNDED at how much tubing had been in her chest! :scared1: It was like 6-8 inches long. And the insertion site was kind of red and inflamed so I know it was sore. :scared:

DS's tube was a teeny silicone thing they put in to stretch his tear duct - more like thread than tubing. One end was anchored in his eye, the other end was anchored in his nose. It stayed in for several months, but when they went to take it out the end in his nose had come untied and they couldn't find it. They had to grab the end in his eye and pull it out that way. He was only 4, but he put up quite a valiant fight against that whole medical team.

Deb,
:wizard: for Hunter. It's good that you were "insistant" at the appt. Hope it turns out to be nothing.

If anybody is on this morning...what should I wear to this interview/meeting? The company is an electrical company that is situated on 2 acres of big rig equipment and the office is a trailer. I am thinking I don't want to be overdressed in a dress/suit.

I'm sure you've already gone to the interview by now, but I can tell you that having been the interviewer many times your appearance makes a big difference, you want to look like the job is important enough to you to dress for it. Also make sure that you look the interviewer in the eye when you answer questions. One of my pet peeves before we went to online applications would be someone who came to fill out an application and had to borrow a pen!

I need to make this a quick post as I need to get Colby out the door to pick up brothers for snowboarding.

Hunter's appointment did not go as well as I had hoped. He has a definite heart murmer which they have never heard before. They did an EKG and it looked okay from the peds prespective, but a cardiologist will look at it. They also ran the various blood pressure tests at my insistance ;) They had him lay down for 10 minutes, took a pressure, had him sit for 2, took a pressure, had him stand for 2, took another pressure. The blood pressures weren't alarming, on the low side, but he always has been. What was remarkable was his pulse. His pulse laying down was 81, sitting up was 102 and standing was 117. There should not be a difference like that as he wasn't moving and did nothing to elevate his pulse. Now they need to figure out why it is doing that. That resulted in a trip to blood draw. Hunter freaked out. He screamed and cried. It was horrible. Heck he cried most of the way back to school and says that he will run away before he lets them do that again. colby was with us and said that he has never heard Hunter scream like that :scared1: The doctor is supposed to call me this afternoon with the results of the blood work. They are doing a CBC, checking for iron levels, sugar levels and other things. He has a follow up appointment with his actual ped next Wednesday. He was told he could do snowboarding tonight, but if he feels at all lightheaded he needs to sit immediately. Either Chris or I need to shadow him to be on the safe side.

So in short I am much more worried now than I was before his appointment.

Deb  hopefully you will get answers soon, and it will be something that can be taken care of easily.

Marci - Happy Birthday to Randy

Steffy - Lot's of PD :wizard: for your friend.

I haven't left yet...thanks for the reminders. :thumbsup2 I decided to put my hair up and I will put the makeup on shortly. I even shaved my legs. I really would like this job. I decided to put an app. in at Kmart for overnight staffing. We'll see if I get called back on that. Kmart is just 6 blocks away from my house and is hiring for that position (supposedly) so between those two part time jobs I would be okay.

Well, chop chop! We are all waiting for you to get back so you can tell us how it went! :rotfl:

My mom went to fill out an application at WalMart or somewhere and she didn't bring her reading glasses. She was trying to fill out the application by holding a magnifying glass in one hand and her pen in the other. I am sure she looked like a complete buffoon. She never got called back for an interview. I think she sabotages herself. Maybe not consciously, but she definitely does not put her best foot forward when it comes to employment.

Howdy....

Deb....hang in there! I know how stressful these things can be

Good luck on your interview Theresa!

AFM....I have a sore/lump that has been bothering me ...I finally went to the doctor. I knew it wasn't good when the doctor lets out a yell "Oh my God, that's huge" :sad2: Apparently it's a cyst with a major infection....I have to take meds for 10 days. That was the good news. She then informed me that these things don't typically go away, but have to be surgically removed....are you freaking kidding me!! But....after last nights SEVERE pain, I decided that surgery couldn't possibly be worse.

Dare I ask where this cyst is located? I hope the meds help ease the pain quickly! :wizard:

Kristine, hope the infection goes away quickly. :wizard:

DS has handed out all 5 of his written invitations. One boy is definitely coming, 2 think they are coming, 1 just got his invite today, and 1 isn't sure if he is coming or not because his mom's birthday is the same day as DS's. If DS got invited somewhere on my birthday I would not give it a second thought - of course he could go with his friend! But whatever.

DS's best friend told him his mom was really excited. I said, "His MOM was excited, but your friend wasn't?" DS said he doesn't know. OK, then. His friend can stay home and I will bring the mom to Great Wolf with us! I like her, and it would be good to have another girl around for the party. :rotfl:

last night I came close to performing surgery on myself with an exacto knife...and I am not kidding

I don't recommend that.
If you rupture the cyst and the goo from inside gets into the surrounding tissue it can form an abscess.
I had a cyst removed from my face when I was in 8th grade. It was gross. I had to go to a plastic surgeon to have it done, but I was awake the whole time. :scared:

Kristine I am glad you got this checked out. :wizard: for an uneventful surgery! Do you have a date set & is this outpatient?

I'm sitting here being really pitiful, I have to go to the store and I really don't want to go. . . . . .

August is getting more and more iffy, I found out today that they have decided to move our inventory dates from January to August, so we inventory tomorrow and then again on August 25th.

The best thing about inventory was that we only went through it once a year :scared:

Well, that sucks!
I think doing it twice a year will give you much more accurate shrink results, but inventory is yucky.
But if you go home on Aug. 15th you will have 9 days for inventory prep. PLENTY of time! ;)
