DDA Chapter 16

It seems that we all survived the first day back at school and the homework is done. Chris is now playing video games with them. I even made it home before tuck ins. I need to give Colby a good dose of meds before he goes to sleep. Hopefully he will have a restful sleep and us too.
:wizard: for everyone!

I'm in Lansing. Got down here about 11:30 last night. Yesterday was a rest day so no exercise. I did take my meds & vitamins, had breakfast (though it was late because I slept in), drank all my water, and had only 1 pepsi.

Today was a good day. I got a lot done at work. I took my meds & vitamins, had breakfast, got most of my water (I forgot my water bottle when I went to a meeting), did my exercise for the day (5 minute warmup, 40 minutes walk/run on the treadmill, and 5 minute cool down), and had only 1 pepsi.

That's 5 days so far! I'm fighting a chocolate craving right now. I've made it without any. I'm off to bed now!

Hopefully by the time our groundbreaking research in hickey elimination is finished, Noah won't suck on your arm anymore. :rotfl2:

We are up to 71 teaspoons of powdered sugar in 12 oz. of water. I am the only one still awake.

That's a lot of teaspoons! I know I use very little water when I make frosting and glaze. Good luck!

And, Noah is retired from the arm-sucking. He sucks his poor fingers raw now, but at least he can soothe himself, for the most part. :upsidedow

We also survived Back to Reality Day. We even had Ballet and Religion tonight, on top of homework. I saw my friend, Kristy. Her family (5 total) and some extended family went to WDW for the first time over Christmas break, staying at SOG. I think it was 12/29-1/2 or something like that. Anyway, I had armed her with a truckload of information. Websites, links, etc. I even put together a packet of info for her. She prepared well, knew that it was going to be crowded, and went anyway, with a great attitude about it. They had a WONDERFUL time. She was over-the-top excited when she was telling me about their trip. She was getting teary talking about it, and now she can't wait to go back. She FINALLY gets why we go so much. There was A LOT they didn't do/see, but that's okay with her. More for next time! You can't imagine how happy I was to hear that they loved it. I was so worried that going this time of year, with the crowds, was going to turn her off.

I can't access my information anymore...only the AKV points...the 600 other points have magically disappeared.....and not one single person apparently is willing to fix it, or acknowledge the problem.

That is horrible! So, since you can't access them you can't use them?!?

That is great news! Congrats to Kathrin, though I'm sorry to hear about her former co-workers.

Thanks, Tia. I guess it was not pretty in the offices this morning. The head of HR came through there at 9:30 and called everyone into the kitchen. They told them that there would be massive layoffs, pay cuts and that the remaining staff would have to begin paying for their own insurance as if January 1. Then they sent them back to their desks with no music or computers and proceeded to call them in one at a time to let them go. They laid off 1/3 of the work force this morning. It is so sad.

Oh my goodness, that's terrible! :( I am thrilled, though, to hear about Kathrin's offer!

It is horrible. And we all know it is happening all over the country. :sad2:

Kathrin says "Thank you!" for all your good wishes, everyone!

so you all may remember when I resigned less than 24 hours later tattle tale's assistant had a "proposal" to take over my position (for more pay). Seems they may have hired her. She was answering the phones (badly, I might add:rotfl: ) when I needed to call the girls' piano teacher.

Oh well, if they hired her they deserve her. It also would explain why they haven't called me to come in and show a new person the ropes....why would I need to show the ropes to somebody who, if given the chance, would have strangled me with it. Now if I could just find that perfect position to go back to them to go "nahnah nahnah!", I would be a happy camper.

We will be at your back with our thumbs to our noses right along with you!

I love it when someone else "gets" it and gets all teary when they or you talk about it. :goodvibes
