Elizabeth I have a project for you and it might make the science fair fun for you. By several forms of alcohol, maybe a bottle of wine, six pack of beer, shot of hard alcohol. You will also need a pocket breathalizer. Now each day between now and the end of the project you can drink until you blow a certain number on the breathalizer. Of course you'd need to make sure each portion was the same amount and drink one per 15 minutes or 1/2 hour. Mind you this is not really appropriate for a 7th grader, but I bet you'd forget about the science fair after enough drinks :thumbsup2

:rotfl:

I do not think I remembered to tell you about the excitement that happened here on Monday morning. Around 6 am, an SUV drove into the electric pole outside of where I live. The vehicle ended up being towed. Everyone was OK. They have temporarily moved the wires to the pole further back that everything is supposed to be on, but not everyone moved stuff as soon as the new pole went up. Now they had no choice. As the old pole was still upright but split and splintered above my head height. They have removed te damaged pole, but their is a hole in the ground.

Night all!

Work was moderately busy. The eve of NYE can go either way. Some people choose to go out tonight to avoid the chaos of tomorrow night while others are saving up for tomorrow night. Thanjully alot of people were travelling.

Becky, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Happy Birthdays to Sophie and Garrett

I spent the evening playing photographer for my dad, he is a member of a square dance club and they are having a two night dance, with an international caller. Square dancing is definitely not my thing but this guy was really pretty good, not to mention a major flirt. (I have to admit it felt pretty good to be hit on :rotfl: )

I think im headed to bed..im sure tomorrow is going to be a late night so i want to get some sleep while i can--goodnight!

Yeah, that was my thought as well. The winds are ROARING though, and I think I've slept about 7 minutes. :guilty: The girls aren't sleeping soundly, either, because of it! :sad2:

I got a wonderful package from Terry yesterday! :yay:

I took a picture, but have yet even get pictures off past Christmas Eve, and have my house practically in shambles because I tackled several large projects yesterday. I now have to finish them before everyone comes over for NYE tomorrow! :faint:

Thank you, though, Terry! They made my day! :goodvibes
...

Thanks again! :teeth:

The wind is bad here too! Hope you were able to get some sleep :wizard:

I think winter is back, brrrrrrrrr!

Good morning :goodvibes

Good Morning Friends,

Happy New Years Eve!

It's time for me to head back to work, then tonight it will be packing and some cleaning, no party here. Tomorrow I have to work in the morning before hitting the road. DH's back is on the mend but still not completely better, hopefully today we will see much more improvement.

Yes it is. The winds did die down a bit last night as we didn't hear much, and the snow started flying as John left for work.

I think winter is back, brrrrrrrrr!

Good morning :goodvibes

Eh.... I finally did get a couple of hours, from like 4-6:30 :confused3 Should be an interesting day  I still have so much to do before people get here this evening, so I'm not sure I'll get a nap! :faint:

Did you guys have any damage from the wind? I haven't been outside yet, but it says it's only 30, which is the high. I don't know about you, but I sort of had this sliver of hope that it would just stay mild through March or so, then turn into spring! :rolleyes1 :)

Debbie, :wizard: for DH's back.

More :wizard: for his back!!

Deb - I thought about doing something with how much alcohol (RUBBING alcohol ;) ) you would have to add to water before the water won't freeze, but there was less of a point to that than there is to dissolving sugar. :rotfl2: I don't recall seeing anything inthe rules about consuming alcohol. There is that rule about not experimenting on vertebrate animals. :rolleyes1

Becky - I was going to use all room temperature water. The problem with introducing heat is that we would then be working with multiple variables instead of just one. I did read that aspartame is unstable when you heat it which is why you can't bake with it. As far as sweetness, Splenda is 600 times sweeter than sugar, Equal is 180 times sweeter. So how sweet the liquid tastes would be skewed by how much sweetener we dumped in there. It is also somewhat subjective to individual taste. It turns out that most of a packet of Splenda isn't really sucralose (the sweetener) - it is maltodextran which bulks up the sucralose so there is actually something visible in the packet. I learned that last night. I told DS there is no way he will place this year - the name of the game at this point is "pass the class".

I have to work today, but I might get off at 5 PM. DH is at work now, and he has to go in tomorrow morning at 1:30 AM. :scared: That should be dangerous. :sad2:

Good morning everyone--

It was so windy over night here as well...i kept waking up, but luckily fell back asleep every time

THANK YOU for all the birthday wishes for Sophie!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

We had a great time at Chuck E Cheese..We must have gotten their before everyone else decided to go because it was not crowded at all. We got our pizza, the kids played & then got their presents with their tickets at the end. Sophie was having a blast as she won more tickets than she ever has before. Just as we were leaving the place turned into a madhouse.

Just before we left for chuck's we discovered that somebody smashed in the back of my van pretty badly in front of my house. We found a large wrench not too far away. Who the heck would do such a thing & why?:confused3 The smash is at least 1 foot around. It has to be at least a grand to pay to fix. We do have alot of rich kids around here with nothing better to do unfortunately.:sad2:

Chanon,
So glad Bob got his ring back...& yes that is wierd the dude didn't tell him sooner. But at least you have it back.
Sounds like a great bday for Sophie. Sorry to hear about your van. Will you make an insurance claim?
