THank you all for all your prayers and concerns!
Leighanna is home!

After getting lots of liquids into her with some antibiotics and some pain meds, she seems to be doing lots better.

The doctors finally ruled out her appendix. Her CT scan at our local hospital showed that it was slightly enlarged, and she was having some severe pain on her right side.
Poor Leighanna has been through quite alot in the last 24 hours.
She was pricked several times. Both arms, both hands, and both feet. Finally the nurse was able to get an IV started in her foot. Their next location to go to was her head. Thankfully that didn't have to happen.
Leighanna was very dehydrated. She hadn't been able to keep anything in or down since Thursday night.
We finally got her to take some chicken broth this afternoon which she kept down, and then she was able to eat a little turkey before she was released.

She will stay out of school Monday and Tuesday, and have two weeks to recuperate from this.
I really appreciate all of your prayers. We didn't want to have her go into surgery.

:woohoo: :woohoo: That is great news. Hopefully she will rebound quickly and completely enjoy Christmas.

Man I need to find a good Jewelry repair store. My engagement ring decided to break on the bottom side.
.

My engagement ring has a thin band and my weding ring has a thick one, the engagement ring wore thin and had to be repaired twice, I finally had them saudered together and haven't had the problem since.

DH wants your opinions.

When he and DS were out yesterday they found a brand new package of men's socks in the mall parking lot. Nobody else was around, so whoever dropped them was gone.

What do you guys think he should have done with the socks?

If he had taken them into the store then they would have been available should the person that dropped them returned to inquire about them.

THank you all for all your prayers and concerns!

Glad to hear she didn't need surgery, hopefully she will mend quickly.

I'm glad she is feeling better and that she is now home. What was the final diagnosis? Virus?

Deb, :scared1: That's a lot of snow, it's really pretty but I don't think I would want to deal with it.

If you can't find one I would suggest that you make one. If you only need one from the waist down it would be a simple skirt with an elastic waist. Materials would cost next to nothing and you could make it whatever length you want. It would probably take less time than hunting one down.
I was thinking about that.

Bernadette - you have been busy! Great new creations. Elin would like the music themed one. :thumbsup2
Thanks! I actually bought that instrument fabric to make a bag for Joe to hold his books for piano lessons but then ended up using the tote as gift wrap for my niece. I have to buy some more of that fabric now!

Thanks! I might have to go check that out but I could make a cotton one.

 Poor Leighanna and Mom & Dad! Hope she continues to improve quickly!:wizard:

Bernadette - you certainly have been the busy seamstress, I Love the bags.

Jen - Love the tree, your packages are piled up like mine, I seem to get a little carried away.

Robyn - Glad breakfast went well.

Here's a question for the Mom's with infants,

what bottle do you recommend and why. I was looking at them tonight and things have changed quite a bit since my girls were little, there was even one by a doctor that is supposed to reduce colic. :confused3

My DD didn't keep anything from when Brandon was a baby so she will be starting all over again.

Tammi, they finally diagnosed it as a virus.
I was trying to go back and read about Alyssa too. I am glad that she is doing better. Her hair looks really cute too!

That is what I had originally thought, but some of the tests that were done in the ER had everyone second guessing this!

It is freezing cold here, I am exhausted, We haven't slept in over 36 hours or so. We are all going to bed, and try to get back to normal!

Talk to you all later!

Well I have lots of bottles that I would be glad to send you. I don't think I'll be using them again. They are the ones that have the 45 degree angle 1/3 of the way up from the nipple.

I would have returned them to the mall office in case someone returned looking for them.

That would have been the most honest thing to do.

What SHOULD have been done, or what WOULD have been done?

Yes. ;)

I am glad she was able to avoid surgery! I hope she feels better soon! :wizard:

Well, I found the Hanna one and it is a size XS-20-33 pounds. It actually looks like it might fit her and come to about 1" above the bottom edge of the Scottie dogs. There is a Strasburg outlet about 1/2 hour from my office. The dress would probably be OK without a slip but I may brave the mall (about 1/2 from my office) tomorrow. The dresses I made the girls for CP were lined. This one only the bodice is lined and the Scottie fabric is a bit thin. I just think it will hang better with a slip. I did a search online & came up with mostly slip on shoes but Strasburg did show up. Maybe I should call them. The kicker is I don't even know if I can get her to wear it. I don't think I can get her to wear tights. I was going to have her wear bike shorts and knee highs. I thought the bike shorts might give her a little bit of warmth.

Well....it is just a package of socks. I don't think I would have bothered to take them into the store (if known) or mall.

If she might not weasr it then it is a good thing your Strasburg is an outlet! :rotfl2:
He wasn't sure what store they came from.

.

My engagement ring has a thin band and my weding ring has a thick one, the engagement ring wore thin and had to be repaired twice, I finally had them saudered together and haven't had the problem since.

If he had taken them into the store then they would have been available should the person that dropped them returned to inquire about them.

My rings were separate pieces that we actually bought at different jewelry stores. I had the bands welded together, but they have since come apart. Of course my fingers are fatter now and I can't get the rings off, so if I wanted to have them welded again I would be in for quite an adventure.

DH didn't know what store the socks were from. He picked them up and brought them home. DS was all in a twist because I have said in the past that something you find in a cart in the parking lot is NOT yours to take home. Pez dispenser, bottle of wine, other items I can't recall, NOT yours! I told DH I don't approve of his free socks, even though they were on the ground and not in a shopping cart.

I use the Avent bottles as the nipples are supposed to be more like moms nipples.

I was quite concerned last night. She was really in pain and I was very close to taking her to the ER as well.

Get some rest, Tom.

I would suggest buying one or two of several styles and see which one the baby likes.

When I was pregnant with DS my charge used those Playtex bottles. I bought a bunch of those. Well, DS wanted NO part of those! He wanted the Gerber Nuk orthodontic nipples that wouldn't fit on the Platex bottles! :headache: My other charges have used Avent bottles. I know a bunch of bottles were recalled because of that chemical in the plastic, so I would guess the new ones don't have that chemical in them.
The Dr. Brown's bottles look like they would be really hard to clean because they have that tube piece like a straw in them. I don't know anyone who has used those.

Is that ticker new? Last I read you were thinking of canceling Mexico. I didn't know you had booked a cruise.

yes it is! Its not 100% definite, but i have decided mexico is definitely cancelled. Its just too expensive and I can do more with the money. So at some point this summer, I will be headed on an Alaskan cruise! It will either be June 26 or July 3 the way it is looking now

Hi everyone,

I have been sick since I got off the plane so I have not felt like posting. Also I thought my puter had been hit by the virus and was not able to get on until last night. :badpc: It just needed to do a restore.

One thing is that we should have not brought our computers on the ship. Poor Stephanie was going thru no ipod withdrawl. :lmao:

It seems that a lot has gone on and I insisted in reading every page.

Mac---hooray for the trach being taken out.

Tom --- Leighanna===she just gets cuter every day. Glad to hear she is home from the hospital.

All of the other pics of the DDA kids and grandkids. We really do have the best and cutest kids :goodvibes

Tammi---I really hope the creepy crawlers have left.

Our cruise was the best. I really wish we could get a bunch of us to do one together. At first our mantra was "deck chair, cabana boy, fru fru drink" that quickly changed to "SPA and where can I get the drink of the day?" :drinking1

That sounds like fun!
Those all inclusive resorts sound like so much fun, but I think you end up paying for things you don't use. Kind of like those mega packages at WDW with unlimited recreation and so forth.
