DDA Chapter 16

I'm home. Roads were great most of the way. There was maybe 30-40 miles total in different places where it was a little slick. It is nice being home with Chuck and the girls.

Kirsten and I were shopping at Target tonight....there was a fairly young man (I'd say 25) holding his 2 year old kid....the kid was screaming bloody murder and was actually hitting his father in the face......Kirsten and I just looked at each other and went on our merry way.

As were were leaving the store...I saw something out of the corner of my eye....a young child running into the street....an older lady started screaming as a car headed for this kid. If I wouldn't of ran into the street and grabbed this kid by the coat and yanked him back..... I have no doubt this kid would be dead!

After I delivered him back into the store, I realized it was the same screaming kid....the father seemed totally unfazed. Me on the other hand was in a cold sweat!

Thank God you were there, and what was the child doing running outside when the father was in the store?

Elizabeth, that is too sweet! :cloud9:

It is very sweet. Princess is really excited about Christmas. She is excited about DS being out of school on Monday. She is excited about her grandparents coming. She is excited about presents. She is excited about going to Chuck E. Cheese the week after Christmas. It must be good to be Princess! :rotfl2:

How many children have you saved in the past few days by yanking them back? It seems to be happening rather frequently! :scared: I am glad you were able to grab the child in time!

Glad you made it home safely!! :goodvibes

the father had no handle on this child whatsoever

Wanna bet he isn't the biological father? On the other hand, I bet my BIL can't handle his kids so maybe the guy was the bio father. :confused3

I had quite an easy night! My bosses were going to a movie, so Princess and I met DS & DH for dinner. I took Princess home, we played for a bit, I got her into her pajamas, and my bosses came back! They decided to blow off the movie and go to dinner instead so they got back early.

Deb- Your PM box is full. The city you had listed is also correct for my address, but I live in PA and not Ohio. I get mail there or with Reading, PA as the city for mail.

Thanks in advance for the card.

Does Toy Story Mania at WDW have fast pass? I think I remeber reading that here but could be imagining things. I know they do not at DCA. Not like I have any WDW trips planned for it to matter.

The Boston Children's Museum has $1 admission on Fridays after 5 PM. That sounds perfect. We can go to the 1 PM Disney on Ice Show, find something to eat then go to the museum. I need to decide weather to ride the T or drive into Boston. I think the T may be easier as it has a stop at both locations. Tia...Help. Of course you've probably already headed to California.

Nope, I'm here. Which station do you catch the T coming into town? Would you take I-89 to I-93? If what google mapped me to drive fron your town to Boston, I'd get on the Haverhill line of the commuter rail. I'm not sure what stop is best, but just see how the map looks to you on that. I'm thinking maybe Ballardvale or North Wilmington.

There's a train that gets into North Station at 11:07 on weekdays. You'd board at the above stations around 10:25. That arrival would work really well for the 1:00 show. Give you time to cover delays, but not there too early either.

After the show, you can just get on the orange line from North Station and go to Downtown Crossing. Switch to the Red Line there and go to South Station. From there, it's just a few blocks walk to the museum. We used to love going to the Friday night things!

For food, you could walk or ride (weather depending) from North Station/arena to Quincy Market and find all kinds of choices. Or, when you get off of the Red Line at South Station, there are a lot of options inside the train station, along with lots of seating.

There are trains back out of the city that leave at 8:30, 10:25, 12:10. Getting you back to the car around 9:15, 11:15, 12:45 respectively.

Hope those help!! If you have any questions, email me or post and I'll try to answer them.

Hello all!!! I just wanted to post quickly before we leave in the morning.

As of this evening, I am the proud holder of 2 park hoppers for DL/DCA!! We do get to see the parade after all!! This is all totally good as Phil accidentally told me something that would otherwise pretty much ruin my trip. Instead, I am going to focus on the DL and the wonderful friends we get to spend time with once again. I'll deal with the rest as best I can and not let it ruin my Christmas.

I am so glad that Elin and Alyssa both got their packages today!!! We had a lot of time picking them out. I'm just sorry that I have a post office issue.

Tammi - I love Alyssa's hair!! It is adorable!

Well, I just took the banana bread out of the oven and want to put some pumpkin in. After that, I've got to go get the suitcases packed. Almost everything is together, I just haven't actually loaded it in as I needed the presents all wrapped and together. (Yes, I'm taking the chance that TSA won't need to open our stuff to inspect.) After that, I'm going to try to get some of my oreo balls and peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate. The family will have to do the rest if they want some themselves. I just want to make sure I have some to take and share with Michelle and our playgroup friends.

The family I sat for last night had all the kids' little Hanukkah art projects from school. So cute! I like Hanukkah. :)

Princess gave me an ornament tonight that she chose all by herself. It is a Lenox Mickey & Minnie. It says "Our First Christmas", but Momboss said Princess INSISTED on THAT ornament. So I will display it proudly (away from Arabella) and know that it was chosen with much love. I don't have my other Lenox ones on the tree since we weren't sure about the cats. We never did find that loop of fishing line. :confused3 Luckily the tree is still standing!

ahhhh....how sweet:love:

holy cow!!  I am so, so glad you were there

And with that...I want to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHIRSTMAS!!!

I'll probably be able to get online some from our friend's, but just in case. Have a great week everyone!! We'll catch up with you on Friday at the latest.

Oh yeah, and I gave Terra her camera tonight. We went out to dinner, just the 3 of us, and she opened it there. She's thrilled and really excited to take it with her to DL. :goodvibes:

Alyssa has been crying on and off for the past hour and a half about lower abdominal pain, from her belly button down. She'll run to the bathroom and nothing. It comes and goes. I've felt her tummy but don't feel anything hard. She's dozing now but keeps squirming everyone once in awhile. She's really in a lot of pain and I don't know what to do. The pain comes and goes.

:( I hope she is feeling better soon... that's always so hard to watch!

Thanks. I've been reading the web trying to determine if I should be concerned about appendicitis. I'm leaning toward gas.

So I am waiting for the next round of winter weather. I am sick of this ice crap, if it is gonna be cold, I want a good snow storm. I am soo ready to move back to Florida, or somewhere warmer then here.;) Although it is supposed to be in the 50s by the end of next weekend.

I just saw some pictures today from when I was in college that reminded me I never want to get that heavy again.:scared1: I really need to get back to the healthy habits I had. I can not keep gaining weight. I am starting January 1st.

Guys, I know it is late, but we could sure use some prayers right now.

Leighanna hasn't been feeling well, and we thought that maybe she had a stomach virus. Well, tonight she still hasn't been able to keep anything down or had no desire to eat.

We took her to the ER and they ran some tests, and feel that she is having an appendicitis. They are transferring her to Dayton Children's hospital tonight and are going to either operate or check further.

I just came home real quick to grab a couple of things, and ask for your prayers.

I will let you know how all goes.

Thanks!

Tammi, how weird, I just read a couple of post ahead of this!

I wonder if Alyssa and Leighanna are living parallel lives?

Hope all is better with her!

Wow Tom. This is bizarre. My prayers are with you all. I hope they can control it without surgery. Give her a hug for me.

I just got finished cleaning up my bed and showering Alyssa. She vomited in my bed while she was sleeping. Then she was okay for awhile, then complaining about the pain again. Now she's back asleep in her bed.
