DDA Chapter 15

Well, we spent another couple of hours at the hospital last night. I had contractions that wouldn't go away, so when they were 6 minutes apart, we headed for the hospital. They got me all hooked up and watched me for an hour. After an hour, there was no change in my cervix, so they called the doctor on call, and he sent me home. Talk about frustration! I guess Peanut wants to come, but doesn't quite know how to make it happen.

We got to bed last night, and the contractions kept right on coming! I didn't get much sleep until about 5:00. After that, they stopped for a while, and I slept until 8:30. Went to my doctor's appointment, and she was as frustrated as I was! The doctor on call last night is her partner, and she was a bit upset that he hadn't called her and asked her opinion. She said that she would have told him to just go ahead and do the c-section. She did tell me that she is on call Thursday and Friday, and if this happens on one of those days, to come on in, and she'll pull the plug on the pregnancy. So, we may be having a Thanksgiving baby after all. We'll see. I haven't been contracting for a while, so I'm hopeful that I'll get to make it to Friday.

Other than that, I'm just taking things easy! I've made the pecan pie for pie night tomorrow, and tomorrow I'll make a Derby pie, and the dressing for Thanksgiving. That's really all that I HAVE to get done tomorrow. My kids have cleaned this house until it sparkles, and they are letting me get some rest!

My brother and his family are arriving tomorrow to stay with us, so I'll have someone to stay with the kids if Peanut does decide to make his debut! I promise that I'll update everyone as soon as anything happens. I'm taking phone numbers, and Alan will have his laptop at the hospital, so keep your fingers crossed that I make it to Friday (I really don't want hospital Thanksgiving dinner!)

Glynis sounds like peanut will be here soon! :wizard: that he waits till Friday for you.

Glynis, good to see that you are still hanging in there!
I hope Peanut waits until Friday for ya!
Blech, hospital food is the pits anyway, not to mention on Thanksgiving!

Leighanna got her ornament yesterday from Peanut. I am uploading the pictures now.
Leighanna had just got home from school and drank a glass of milk. I didn't realize that she had a milk moustache until I looked at the photos on my computer! Sheesh! I need to pay better attention. Although it was getting dark outside, so I will use that as my excuse for not seeing it.

I have to leave in a half an hour as I have a meeting this morning, but could not sleep anymore so I got up and started getting ready to go. I also did not fall asleep till around 2am. By the time today is over my butt will be dragging.

I hope you all have a great day.
Thanks Becky!!!!:goodvibes

Well, i just got back from the doctors..i have fluid behind my ears, congestion and more..i juts took my meds and im going to go lay down..i REFUSE to be sick!

Feel better soon!

I AM OFFICIALLY ON VACATION!!!!

until December 8!!! The kids are in the shower, then we will sit down and play some games until Charlie Brown comes on at 8.

How fun! I'm not jealous at all...

Good evening, all. Sounds like lots of last minute travel prep, soon to be trip prep and some yummy baking going on. The official verdict from the doctor is sinisitus that is mostly viral, but turning into an infection in some areas. Major antibiotics, continued Sudafed, 3 days of nasal spray and ibuprofen as needed. With any luck the major pain in my throat and up the sides of my neck will subside soon. It would also be nice to be able to swallow something more than a milkshake or soup. I did manage a soft pretzel at the mall, but it wasn't a lot of fun. I've got to run Rachel to dance pretty soon, then I'm going to pick up one of Terra's Christmas presents before it goes off sale. After that, hopefully I'll have enough energy to start making a dent in the list of things to be done by bedtime tomorrow. Luckily, Rachel has been put at my disposal for help tomorrow and there are plenty of shorter jobs for her to help with. Have a good night everyone.

I hope you feel better soon! Try to get some rest.

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: To all the sickies!!!! So many of us! I feel a cold coming on and I don't want to be sick for Thanksgiving since I cooking a turkey for only the 2nd time in my life. And I can't be sick for Black Friday!

I am more excited than normal..i mean, i love all trips, but this is somethign that i have wanted to do since i was a littel girl ,and its my dad and i ,so its extra-special to me :goodvibes:
Have a wonderful time! Hope you don't get sick!

Things are much better this afternoon. I gave her a big hug when she came in from school & we both said "I'm sorry".

I got an exchange package from her today. I am not sure when it was mailed. Thanks for the ornaments and goodies Glynis.

I love your Tick Tock ornament!

Hi, everyone! Long time, no communicate!

I'm still here, still pregnant, and doing just fine! We've just been without internet for the last 3 weeks! It's been horrible. We were with one provider, and I would have internet for about 2 hours a day, so we started searching for a new provider. Because of where we live, it's not an easy thing! We found one company, they came out last Wednesday, and discovered that because of all our trees, (and a neighbor's house) they couldn't get a signal. Alan found another company, and they came out today, found a good signal, and hooked us up! So, I'm back!!!!!!!

Things here are really good. Mary had strep throat, but we caught it early, and she's healthy once again. Actually, we all are (with the exception of Alan who has some cracked ribs from helping his sister move and having a couch dropped on his chest). We are ready for the baby to come (any day now, the doctor says, but I'm hoping to wait until after Thanksgiving.), and thought he was going to come last Monday. However, after about 5 hours in the hospital and a shot of Terbutalene, the contractions stopped, and they sent us home.

My neighbors threw me a baby shower, and collected almost 300 dollars on a Target gift card for us to use for things we need. We were so touched!

Becky - I'm so glad that the package made it to you! I wanted to make sure I got them in the mail before the baby came.

I know I'll never get caught up, but maybe some kind soul will give me a condensed version???? I promise that I'll better (at least until the baby comes).

It's nice to be back!
Hi there! Poor Alan!

I'm definitely going out, but not sure exactly where yet. I will not be in the Best Buy line though. Last year they started lining up at Noon on Thanksgiving. I've actually found better deals online then what I've seen in the Black Friday ads. I do want a PS3 controller at Radio Shack, an external or portable hard drive (Staples looks the best pricing so far), and several items at Kohl's. I will know more once I have more hard copy ads to look through. Looking at ads online doesn't sink in for me. I'm interested to see what the last minute secret sales will be.
I've done well at Kohl's the last 2 years. This year I'm going to JoAnn's. I did see that Kohl's is having an early bird special on the Leap Frog Explorer Globe for $59.99. It is usually $99.99. We've had one for years and my kids love it.

Thanksgiving can be whatever day we make it, right? Just because the rest of the world will be having family time on Thursday doesn't mean we need to.
:thumbsup2

Bernadette the jacket is great!:thumbsup2
Thanks!

Thanks everyone for letting me whine yesterday. After spending the day doing the bare minimum I am feeling much better, physically and mentally! Our plan is to go and just take it easy. We called up there and my cousin could hear the cold in my voice (or lack thereof) and said that we can do as little as we want or as much as we want. She said that if we felt we couldn't make it, it was ok too. She told me that if they ended up with our colds it was a small price to pay for the time we'd get to spend together!! Mo and Lu both sound a lot better this morning too. I am hoping that I can get what I need to get done today, which since I did very little yesterday is a lot, and still feel as good as I do now. I told Emma that she must help out without whining or she stays home!!!

So we hit the road tomorrow and will just take our time. No rush to get there.

I need to get the girls fed. I'll try to be back to catch up a bit.
:wizard: Safe travels!!!!

Can someone who has gotten autographs on pillow cases tell me if I should be concerned about the thread count?

Thanks
I did one for Joe. I had a really hard time finding a plain white pillowcase-I didn't want to pay too much for it at a department store. I just have it leaning against Joe's headboard-he doesn't put his head on it so we don't wash it too much. I'm pretty sure it is 100% cotton but I don't what the thread count is?

Elin, I was determined to get these posted before we left for Thanksgiving. I'm sorry I'm such a slacker! Thank you again for the wonderful surprise package!

SO cute!

Hunter is still getting headaches pretty much daily, even with the new glasses. I just made an appointment at his doctor's for Monday. I can't imagine why a healthy 11 year old would have daily headaches
:wizard: Hope you can find some relief for him soon! It takes me weeks to get used to new glasses.

I AM OFFICIALLY ON VACATION!!!!

:woohoo: That is wonderful!

I had a horrible day at work, to start off one of our new cashier's till came up
$980 short, needless to say if she shows back up she will be terminated or arrested or both.
:scared1: YIKES! Not a fun day at all.

:wizard: Hope Peanut will hold off til Friday!

I went down to my aunts today to bake chocolate chip cookies for her. I did three batches, 4 dozen per batch. Friday I will make peanut butter cookies for her, probably the same amount.

Do you think I should rent my self out to other people? :teeth: Would people be willing to pay someone to make homemade cookies for them? :confused3 :rotfl:

Heck, yeah!

They went around the tables and each one was asked for one thing they were thankful for. Many were thankful for their Mom's and Dad's, my son...he was happy for water :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Mind you he doesn't drink water. Apparently he just learned that water is the main component in everything :thumbsup2 I'll try to post a picture or two when I get home tonight.

That is just adorable!

My goodness, I certainly hope everyone is feeling better soon.

I had a horrible day at work, to start off one of our new cashier's till came up $980 short, needless to say if she shows back up she will be terminated or arrested or both.

 yikes! Is it possible it is somehow a $20 mistake, and not $980?

I got a sinus headache at work tonight. That is when it dawned on me that maybe Hunter has sinus issues. He has a very high tolerance for pain so perhaps he has had something going on for months without me understanding? I asked him where he gets the pain when he gets a head ache. He described it as right across his brow line which is exactly where Chris and I get sinus headaches. I wonder if allergies could or do cause sinus headaches :confused3 Maybe I'm just grasping at straws, but I pray that it is nothing serious.

Becky has decided to come home with me to spend Thanksgiving. I'm excited about that. I was going to get up and leave immediately in the morning. However, something unexpected came up tonight so I have to be in the office for an hour or two before heading out. I'll still be home by 6 or 7 pm. The main thing is that I'll be through the Lower Peninsula before the massive surge to the North starts! :lmao:
