Well this was a fun morning. Katie & i got into it again about wearing her coat to school. She was so defiant. She said that she was old enough to make her own decisions.:rotfl2: Yeah when you pay your own health insurance you are!!!! Well it all ended in both of us in tears & lots of screaming...fun fun... I just give up...I grounded her & she could care less. :headache: I said no more texting for fun on her phone too (just use for calling me as it was intended in the first place) she said fine.....I am going to loose it...at least I get to runaway for a few days next week.

I am so sorry Anne Marie. She is very angry, isn't she?  for both of you.

 I have no advice, but as a former rotten teenage girl, I CAN tell you that you do get through it, most of the time with a completely unscathed relationship!.

Oh yeah. I could go on & on about the exchange we had but I am just exhausted by it all. I can't imagine what I am going to when a boy is involved or things like getting into other peoples cars..all this "good" stuff is ahead of us....:sad2:

I'm sorry! DS has the whole week off so we won't be having that particular fight today.

I am completely bummed that the housekeeper is coming today. I was going to take the kids out to do something but nothing opens until 10 AM. We have to be back by noon since we never know what time she will show up. I need to talk with Dadboss about giving her a key.

Anne Marie, please make sure that Dana is onboard with all the grounding and other rules before you leave. The worst thing that could possible happen would be for Dana to go easy on her while you are gone. That would just give her more power (in her minds eye).

I clicked on the Wii games & it says it under the name of the game. Also on the DS games..it is available on line too.
See like this one...

Thank you. I'm going to go and click around as I have a list for each of the boys.

Tammi and Jen I can tell that you are both super excited about your upcoming trip. It sounds like your more excited than usual. I hope you both have extrodinary trips :wizard:

So the kids and I were watching the American Music Awards. I think we have a 2nd generation NKOTB fan. Although Alyssa did state "they aren't kids!" :rotfl:

I knew I liked her for a reason!! ;)

Anne Marie-'s

Tammi- :woohoo: :woohoo:

Bernadette- Love the things you've made!!

Jen- You sound so excited!! Have a blast!!

Vicki- Glad you are getting organized for work.

Really I know I read much much more but it's not coming back to me. Sorry.

's & :wizard: all around

I am seriously contemplating not going to Michigan. I still feel pretty horrible, it hurts to swallow and I can barely breathe I am so congested. And this is 2 days on cold meds. Lucy is coughing and Mo is fighting the same crap I am. I am so afraid of being run ragged when we are up there that when we got back we'd be a thousand times worse off.

I so don't want to disappoint everyone but know that they'd understand. I was looking so forward to getting to spend the time with everyone up there. :sad1:

What to do, what to do? :confused3

Yes, we were brought up pretty much the same way..If anything Dana is more strict than I am. Thanks Deb.

Sounds like you need to stay home & rest.

That may be the best "advice" anyone has given, Jennifer!

That is a difficult decision, Robyn. I totally understand what you mean, though. Hopefully the right answer will smack you between the eyes in the next day or so.

Another busy day! I went shopping with my brother's girlfriend to get my brother a present (camera). Then i wnet out for the dallas game and then out to dinner..im home and baking for work and i am exhausted! I cant believe that i leave wednesday!

Tomorrow is one yaer since grandpa passeda way so we will be trying to keep grandma busy

Hugs to you and your family.

Marci - Is it for Wii? I am not sure what we want. I know DS wants Wii Fit, he decided not to get Wii Music, not sure where we stand on anything else. I suspect DS will want Rock Band so he can do drums instead of Guitar Hero, but I will ask him.
DH took him to Guitar Center today so he could play with the floor model drum sets. :headache: We are NOT buying a drum set. We are also not buying a big set of electronic drum pads.

Bernadette - Cute jacket! :thumbsup2 The pillowcases are great! The girls will love them!

Yes -- it is for Wii. And as Tammy said, it's the new version that is like Rock Band. Randy read on consumer reports that it's rated higher than Rock Band 2, and it does have better songs. Don't feel obligated. We can easily take it back to the store. I just didn't know how hard they are to find and for some reason (faulty memory, I'm sure!) I thought you had mentioned wanting it.

After many, many hours of sorting through emails, I have 0 entries in my inbox and my sent items. Woohoo! More importantly, I have a good system setup that should help keep me organized to find what I need when I need it. Tomorrow night, I'll sort through my stack of paperwork. Then I'll be done with the organization that is needed for work. I love the book "Getting Things Done". I also downloaded the info on how to implement the philosophy in Microsoft Outlook (which we just converted to at work). They were a big help.

I'm off to bed now. I need to get some sleep.

Yeah for organization!

I'm so sorry. Since she's old enough to make her own decisions, can you give her crappy adult chores for her to do that might show her she doesn't really want to go there? I'm not sure if that would make it worse, though. I'm really not looking forward to the teen years. I take Andrew's phone away completely (more of a hardship on us, since sometimes we need to reach him), and that's enough to get rid of his attitude, at least for a while, but I'm sure it will stop working at some point.

When were you supposed to leave? I think you should stay home and try to get better. I would think Michigan is even colder and more windy then where you are now, and that won't help any, going in and out while visiting.

How's your thumb? I still get squeamish just thinking about it...

Lots to do at work, so I better get going. Have a great day everyone! :)

I know that everyone has gone through great trouble to prepare for our arrival. And I don't want them to think that we're ungrateful or anything like that.

We are to leave Wednesday. It is supposed to be snowy and cold while we're up there. UGH!!

My thumb is surprisingly well. It hasn't hurt since I got the shot of lidocaine at the hospital to numb it. Molly saw the stitches and screamed that I had spiders all over my thumb! It was quite comical!!

Thanks Marci,

I would take her phone away but she does need it to reach me after school. Sophie came up to me before & hugged me. She said "I promise I will be good when I am 12"...  Oh I hope so cause I can't do this 3 times. :rotfl:

OK, another take on this trip... If you were coming to visit me and you were sick and your kids were sick I really would rather that you stayed home!

(How is that for a good reason to stay home??)

Well then there is some hope for us, I guess....

Another open house yesterday & so far no offers...sheesh! Not a great time sell thats for sure. We found a few homes we liked in Chapel Hill so as soon as we get an offer (or the buyout offer is up) we can move on it. At least now we know what neighborhood & schools we want.

Have a beautiful day everyone..I am off to do errands.

I hope this happens quickly for you, Anne Marie. I think it would help all of you to get the move behind you. :grouphug:

It sounds like Avery is fighting the same thing :( I hope you all feel better quickly! Good luck on your decision, I know those are always hard for me.
