So I just went thru some things for Santa..so far I have spent alot but theres not much there!:rolleyes1  :rotfl:

Tammi - the cake sounds perfect!

Anne Marie - as I said in my PM, let her go without and remember, you could always offer to give the coat to a charity needing one.... ;)

I called the cake lady again from the Grand Floridian and changed my order. I'm probably making her crazy. I've finally settled on a vanilla cake with passion fruit mousse and whipped cream frosting. I'm also have a Mickey screen print with Mickey confetti. I hope it's yummy!

That sounds so delicious. Now I want cake. Weight Watchers say no cake for me :sad2:

I feel your pain. Every item is so expensive. We agreed that we weren't doing much for the kids this year, but not much sure adds up fast. Between new boots and snowboard gloves as well as the few other items they asked for our budget is spent. I haven't even though about Santa for Nick or Colby :sad2:

I did managed to order 4 games and 2 guides from TRU. Of course a couple of the ones they wanted were out of stock. My Mom is buying one of the games for Chris and one for Nick so really I only bought 2 games. One game and guide is for Hunter from Santa so he's all set :thumbsup2

Got a question about AVAST the security/virus protection that someof you use. Is it safe? My Norton expired. Just curious..thanks!

I find it very safe. We've had no problems. It self updates daily and scans for viruses as you go along. I run a full system check every couple of weeks to make sure that it has caught everything. I also use AVG anti spyware to check for all those cookies that are put on my computers. AVAST catches the viruses though. It has caught several Trojan viruses before they had been installed on my hard drives :thumbsup2

I have a $27 credit at Staples..I might just got get an antivirus thingy over there. Thanks!

I am seriously contemplating not going to Michigan. I still feel pretty horrible, it hurts to swallow and I can barely breathe I am so congested. And this is 2 days on cold meds. Lucy is coughing and Mo is fighting the same crap I am. I am so afraid of being run ragged when we are up there that when we got back we'd be a thousand times worse off.

I so don't want to disappoint everyone but know that they'd understand. I was looking so forward to getting to spend the time with everyone up there. :sad1:

What to do, what to do? :confused3

If you are feeling miserable, the last thing you want is a long drive. Also, you really don't want the chance of getting others sick. I would stay home and get better. :goodvibes

Can someone point me to the website where I can preorder my photopass CD? For some reason I can't find it.

ETA: Nevermind. I found it.

After all the :headache: with McAfee. John installed Avast and I have had no problems. We have a local computer tv show that always recommends Avast.

So.

The housekeeper isn't coming today. We could have gone out and done something! But I didn't find out she wasn't coming until 11:45 AM anyway. I did ask Dadboss if she can have a key and he agreed, so we will do that going forward.

I bought a Wii Fit. Game Stop had them. We went to the mall to get the Hallmark "Grandma" ornament for DS to give my mom, and Game Stop is next to Hallmark. I was shocked that they had them in stock!

Marci, DS said he really wanted Wii Fit more than any of the "music" type things, so we will pass on Guitar Hero. Thanks for offering!!! :)

Princess is napping. She threw her cup at me at lunch. She took maybe 2 bites of her hamburger and said she was finished. OK, fine. I told her if she didn't eat 3 more bites of her burger she wasn't going to have dessert. So she smacked the cup across the counter at me. She isn't using a sippy at meals (only in the playroom) so of course water went everywhere. Naughty, naughty. :sad2:

DH picked DS up and took him home, so for now all is quiet.

Well this was a fun morning. Katie & i got into it again about wearing her coat to school. She was so defiant. She said that she was old enough to make her own decisions.:rotfl2: Yeah when you pay your own health insurance you are!!!! Well it all ended in both of us in tears & lots of screaming...fun fun... I just give up...I grounded her & she could care less. :headache: I said no more texting for fun on her phone too (just use for calling me as it was intended in the first place) she said fine.....I am going to loose it...at least I get to runaway for a few days next week.

 I do understand what you are going through, I deal with the same with the boys. I have cried many a times wondering where I have gone.

I know this is a tough decision, but it really sounds like you all need to stay home & take care of yourselves

Hope you are feeling better soon :wizard:

Hi everyone! :wave2:

Anne-Marie, I'm sorry your morning started off with a fight. I also gave my mom lots of grief, but not nearly as much as my younger brother and sister, so now I'm the "good daughter." :teeth:

Robyn, I'm sorry you're sick for the holiday. Take care of yourself these next couple days, and maybe you'll be on the upswing by Wednesday.

Sorry to cut this short...Noah just can't seem to even nap today. :(

I would wait as long as you can to make the final decision, however I would fill everyone in on how horrible your family is feeling. They may actually suggest that you stay home.

Anne Marie. I see both sides of the coat issue. The fact of the matter is that she could do what most kids do, put the coat on to appease you then stash it somewhere and not wear it once you're out of sight. I've seen kids completely change outfits just to keep peace with the parents. Does she not like her coat? Could you compromise on more layers? There are days when the boys just wear a fleece or hoodies as they don't want there heavy coats. I figure that it isn't me that will be cold and eventually they will learn there lesson. Our school does require coats (not necessarily winter), snowpants and boots for the K - 5 kids, but no requirement for the older kids. It's a tough line to walk. Thankfully she won't need a coat as often or probably as heavy once you move south

By the way I remember going skiing in the middle of winter in jeans and a sweatshirt because that was the cool thing to do. We even did a couple of days in shorts (it seems stupid now, but it was cool then). If I wore a sweatshirt I can guarantee that I had many layers below it.

Another thing that came to my mind was if it is hard to get to her locker and she doesn't want to lug the coat around?

ugh. My tummy is all wonky. My niece and brother were sick over the weekend and I'm really hoping that I didn't catch it. I gave her a ride to school on the day that she should have stayed home and ended up going home early  I tried to take a nap, but had horrible dreams and I was freezing. Then the oil man came, then one of the other parent's called to see what she could bring to the party TOMORROW  The note went home a week and a half ago. Still no call from the Post Office.

Tammi and Jen I can tell that you are both super excited about your upcoming trip. It sounds like your more excited than usual. I hope you both have extrodinary trips :wizard:

I am more excited than normal..i mean, i love all trips, but this is somethign that i have wanted to do since i was a littel girl ,and its my dad and i ,so its extra-special to me :goodvibes:

yes I am sure that is one of the reasons.

Things are much better this afternoon. I gave her a big hug when she came in from school & we both said "I'm sorry". They are eating now & quite peacefully.
