Tomorrow Nicholas has a birthday party to go to and then I think Bob is taking him to a model train display at the armory. I have no idea what Alyssa and I will do. Then tomorrow we are going to see The Nutcracker.

Are you going tonight or Sunday? I am going tonight!

Tammi - I am glad it was nothing serious this morning!

Deb, I hope the proposal works. My dad used to need steel tip shoes and also had an allowance, but it didn't matter where he got them.

 Try to take it easy

Tammi :scared1: That would certainly put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day. I hate scares like that. We had that happen in the middle of the night a few years back. Our kids didn't even wake up :sad2:

We went to bowling then off to shop for workboots for Chris. He has to buy them at a certain store to use his $100 credit from work. Of course the did not have a singe work boot that was wide enough for his foot. He must have tried on 50 pr. The kids were so bored. We finally found a pair of blue hiking boots that are steel toed and insulated and he took those even though they are ugly. I swear if we had found a pair of fuzzy bunny slipper with a steel toe he would have took those in the end :sad2: I intend to do some research and see what is out there that will fit his foot then write up a little proprosal to his employer. I can't see why they would really care where he gets them since it will cost them the same either way.

Check out Red Wing Shoes. They have from narrow to wide work boots. My Dad has bought shoes and boots from them for years. They are not cheap but last forever and can be resoled. He has some pair for 20 years or longer, that have been resoled a few times. He wears them day in and day out. He has dress and work shoes from this company as he has narrow feet.

I hope this helps and good luck with the proposal.

He specifically needs a 6E width. EW aren't wide enough. The store we were at had up to 3E and those weren't wide enough either. The man at the register asked him if he had somehow injured his feet to make them that wide :headache: I was not at all impressed with the store or service. We got through this every year and get the same lame excuses each year. :sad2: I did find some Dunham workboots online in a 6E as well as another brand. Now I'm armed for next year :rolleyes1

I don't want to go to work...I don't want to go to work...I don't want to go to work...but alas it's time :sad2: Talk to you all later.

FYI: I've done some quick searching and the Canon S5 seems to still be in the $400 range most places the $250 is the cheapest I've found doing a quick search.

Hmm... I don't recall seing it much OVER $300 anywhere when I bought mine. Maybe people are marking it up since supply is now low? :confused3

I hope your night is a quick one!

Elizabeth! This story is all about crazy mail carriers stashing mail instead of doing their job! :teeth:

Great. I wouldn't care if he kept the junk mail. What he likes to keep is stuff we need - like bills. Or personal cards and letters. I guess maybe he thinks the cards might have money in them? And maybe he thinks he couls use or sell our credit card numbers? AT any rate, my complaint never got anywhere and we never got the 2 weeks worth of mail from last year that just flat out disappeared. :confused3

Gosh Tammi-you certainly know how to start a Saturday!!;)

Tia-have fun at the craft fair....I've never heard of a flamingo fundraiser.

Elin-I am sorry about the job at Princeton Review...that just means the perfect job is still out there waiting for her:wizard:

Elizabeth-your day doesn't sound like it sounded much better than Tammi's.

Marci-good luck in your endeavors today!!

I've sent out about 6 resumes this morning.

Great post Theresa, ditto from me!

:wizard: that you get called for more interviews!

If you have been wanting a pair of Mammoth Crocs now is the time to get them! Boscovs online has them 1/2 off as well as some other style of Crocs with free shipping on orders of $50 or more. Their jibbets are 1/2 off as well. I bought 3 pairs of the Mammoths for the boys(Christmas gift)& myself for $60 :thumbsup2

I think this ends tonight, hope some of you are able to take advantage of this!

My Christmas tree and decorations are up. :santa:

What a busy and fun day! I took Nicholas to the bowling alley for his 12:30 party, then Alyssa and I came home and started dragging boxes of stuff up from the basement. She and I got all the Christmasy knick knacks put up in the living room, got the mantle decorated and the tree erected. Bob picked up Nicholas and brought him home. I couldn't stand looking at a naked Christmas tree, so we just HAD to decorate it. I was planning on doing it on Thanksgiving. But alas, it's done! Then with all the Chinese talk last night, we ordered take out before heading out to the Nutcracker. It was beautiful, and what a surprise to bump into Elin. I guess if I would have checked in this afternoon I would have known she was going to be there.

Emma got her first report card with actual grades and it was straight A's!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

way to go Emma

Here you go.

1 cup cinnamon
1 tbsp. ground cloves
1 tbsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. allspice
1 tbsp ginger
3/4 c. applesauce

In medium bowl, combine cinnamon, cloves, allspice,
ginger & nutmeg. Add applesauce, stir to combine.
Work mixture with hands 2 to 3 minutes or until dough
is smooth and ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut dough with cookie cutters.
Using straw or pencil, make small hole in top of ornament.
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 150 degrees for 1 hour
Remove from the cookie sheet and bake on the oven
racks for another hour and a half.

You can mix in decorative glitter to give them sparkles. I sprayed mine with glitter spray for fabrics prior to baking.

Thanks
Kathrin did not get the job at The Princeton Review. :(

That is all I know because she texted me as I was teaching and then she was headed out to dinner with her room mates.
bummer, :wizard: that the perfect job comes soon.
