DDA Chapter 15

Believe me, I shook... and SHOOK! No good. To top it all off, I went into work early planning to get my studio all decorated. I think I am jinxed this year. :confused3 Every lighted garland that I put up around the doorways worked on the floor.... BUT NOT ON THE DOORS AND WINDOWS!! And my little slimline tree in the back room of my studio is only lit from the middle down. I finally gave up at 9:00. :sad2:

I had the same trouble. Everything worked until I hung it, then it didn't. It was so frustrating. I even stripped the lights of a bunch of garland and used new lights because I am not patient when it comes to finding the problem. Our house did look nice when I drove home tonight. I am debating over whether or not I want to take the time to hang the lights around the roof. I think it will come down to the weather on Sunday when Chris is around to help.

Glynis I'm glad to hear that things are going well. I cannot imagine having a newborn in the house again. I'm already tired all the time as it is. There is really nothing new with us. We seem to work, shop, decorate, repeat pattern. Sometime I need to decorate the inside and maybe wrap some presents. Nick received his ornaments today. He loved the playing cards and candy as well as the ornament. I see he has already put it on our new Disney tree. We now have 2 trees in our livingroom, one is all Disney and the other has everything else. I will try to post some pictures sometime.

Welcome home, Glynis! We have missed you a LOT!

Deb - you got a lot done today. Wish you had the original 20 at your party tonight.

Chanon, Anne Marie and Janet - HAVE A BALL!!

Elizabeth - Happy planning. . . ;)

Theresa - I hope you are not needed often back at your old job.

party: party: Happy Birthday to Nicholas! party: party:

AND today I have a teenager in my house! Andrew turned 13 today. :upsidedow

I'm going to get another cortisone shot in my shoulder today, meet my boss's daughter at a lab so she can have blood drawn, pick up the boys and then head home for the family celebration for Andrew. My SIL is making his favorite foods -- hamburgers and pound cake.

Have a great day DDA!

Happy Birthday Andrew

Huh. At least you got an answer. Yes, impersonal and tacky, but it saves you from wondering if they got your application!

SO...
If we were going to take a stab at Universal how should we approach it? Taxi, Mears shuttle, or rental car? Any other advice?

Honestly, if it were me I would stay at one of the Universal resorts for a few nights of the days you plan on going to US. You would only have to deal with I-4 twice. Once there and back. You would get front of the line passes and you could use the resort boats or walk to get to the parks depending where you stay. If you rented a car you would park at the resort and not at the large garage. You could probably use another transportation as well. This option would be less stressful if you plan on going to the parks more then one day.

The parking garage at Universal is huge. Several stories, multiple escalators. You have moving walkways to hop on to get closer to the the parks. As it is pretty far from Citywalk. You cross over a multi-lane road. After you leave the garage you enter Citywalk. After that you get to the parks.

I have only ever done Universal with a car since IOA and the large garage was there. Although one time we stayed close enough that we walked. I can not recall where we stayed. It was not a US property.

I used to go to Citywalk all the time, as parking used to be free after 6pm and we would go to the movies or other places as they had special deals for college students. The parking garage is not that bad. Although it probably is if you get there first thing in the morning or are leaving at the same time as everyone else.

The other transportation options might drop you off closer to the park then you would be parking a rental car in the garage. The one time I took a bus there was before IOA and the entrance change was complete.

If you are leaving soon have a good and safe trip. I am quite jealous.

It was icy tonight on my way home. It got cold really quick.

I have to get up early tomorrow. I am soo thrilled.

I hope everyone is doing well.:grouphug: :wizard:

Elizabeth, I'm still gonna tell you to do a one night (or a tour). The money spent is worth every penny. And you can also split the room cost with the uncles...

I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!! (and I'm still packing... :teeth: )

Anne Marie, Chanon and Janet . . . HAVE A MAGICAL, STRESS-FREE TRIP!! Tell Tammi and her clan :wave2: from us!

Well I am packed except for what I need in the morning.

I still feel very unorganized for some reason :confused3 But I have gone over my packing list, so I don't think I am forgetting anything.

If you had packed 12 days ago you wouldn't feel that way. :rolleyes1 Just kidding. I always have the feeling I have forgotten something.

Janet, Chanon, Anne Marie, HAVE A WONDERFUL TRIP!!!!!! :dance3: :cheer2: :grouphug: :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay:

HAVE FUN!!! :cool1:

The only way we could split the room cost with the Uncles is if we didn't actually stay in the room. We can split cab fare with them, though. Booking a tour or staying at US/IOA just cranks the price up way too high. By the time we pay the change fee on the plane tickets and pay the checked bag fees we are already at $415. Adding another $600 to that for park passes and hotel is too much.

Glynis - I am glad you and Timothy are doing well!! :goodvibes Can't wait to see pics!
