DDA Chapter 14

I wonder if we have a new DDA baby yet?

Nope!!! I came home quickly to switch over vans. I took the good one and Eric needs it for school drop off. Surely I thought she'd been done by now.

Sara and I have been up all night and when I left she was at 4cm. I am on my way back out the door.

BTW - I saw Candy Cane Creme Oreo Cookies on the store shelf today...and now they are on top of my fridge...well, a few are next to me with a tall glass of milk too.

I bought some too, but remarkably haven't opened them! :rotfl: Did yours come in an adorable "classic" package?

My kids got their school pictures back today. Pay no attention to Alyssa's horrible chapped lips. She has this bizarre need to lick her lips all the way down to her chin. They get cherry red in the winter because of the cold. I put neosporin on them at night and give her chapstick for the day, but I don't think she applies it very often. I'm not real sure I'm thrilled with the casual-type pose they did this year either.

Oh I think they are wonderful! The pose is nice, something ever so subtly different, which is good for school pics IMO!

Theresa,

Robyn,
:wizard: for Sara.

Tammi,
Nice pictures. Daniel does that too with his lips.

Nicholas was supposed to go to George Washington's Mt. Vernon home today on a field trip, but it's been postponed due to the weather, and rescheduled for Tuesday. Mt. Vernon is just a few miles from where I work so I had cleared my schedule for several hours so I could meet them there. I think Tuesday's schedule is going to be impossible to clear. :(

Aww, bummer!

You get to choose where your electricity comes from?!?!?

Yep. We have been Green Mountain customers for about 5 years. We chose 100% wind power, but it was over $.18 per kWh. At the mall yesterday I saw a thing where TXU (the old "monopoly" electric co.) now offers 100% wind for $.14 per kWh, but you have to lock in for an 18 month term. I had also looked at Reliant Energy's wind plan. So I called Green Mountain and switched over to the combo wind & hydro for just over $.13 per kWh. I am not thrilled about not having 100% wind anymore, but for a savings of $500 per year I think I can handle it. I can always switch again since I didn't have to lock into a contract.

Theresa - lots of PD is headed your way. You have had a crummy few weeks. And, for what it is worth, I would call the temp agancy back and find out what they have available and then turn in my resignation.

Robyn - I hope Sara's delivery goes well.

Tammi - the kids' pictures are great! I kind of like that casual pose.

Theresa - I had a dream that we went to Target. I hope you found what you were looking for! ;)

Tammi - DS licks his lips. It drives me nuts! Aquaphor heals them very nicely, but it is kind of messy. He carries Soft Lips in his backpack to use at school. I also read on the Family board about giving kids magnesium supplements to reduce "tics" and when DS takes it regularly he licks his lips less. That may just be coincidence, but I figured the magnesium won't hurt him.

That's disappointing! :guilty:

Good morning. :)

Today is So Happy It's Thursday day!

Yes, it is! :rotfl: I am going to have a wild afternoon/evening. Princess has ballet until 5:30. They changed DH's schedule for today and DS MIGHT have band practice. Getting DS picked up, Princess back home, and making it to my extra babysitting job by 6:30 is going to be very tricky if DH doesn't finish work in time to help me! :scared: If DS doesn't have band after school then everything will be peachy!

Yikes! That is one slow labor! When I was induced with DS it took about 13 hours from start to finish. They started my pitocin at 6 AM and he was born at 7:10 PM. I hope the pace picks up! :wizard:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MYA!

so instead of somebody coming in...I got called in to the big man's office and got reamed for some things. I will own up to one of them as bad judgement but the rest are stupid little things that I get to be brought up in front of SPRC for:headache:  I need to decide if I just hand them my resignation at that time or wait until I've got a job.

I also decided to tell the girls about the divorce tonight...I figured might as well get it ALL out. I am a glutton for punishment.

Theresa I am sorry things seem so out of whack right now. :wizard: & for you all.

Nice pictures Tammi!

Riley use to do that with his lips when he was younger, except he would have a bright red ring around his mouth :headache:

:(

Kristin and I bought annual passes there this summer and were thinking of going up for the Christmas Festivities. If you can't go and want to try to coordinate with us next month let me know!

Good morning. :)

Today is So Happy It's Thursday day!

I for one am happy it is Thursday! My Wednesdays are from Hades and I look forward to Thursdays every single week! Sorry yours is nasty.

I'm so sorry Theresa. :grouphug:

I pray that all goes well for mother and baby.

Nick conference went well although we did not like the style of it. It is student run so basically Nick showed us some of his papers/tests and explained what is was on. His advisor was there, but really didn't participate. No teachers were there so the issues we discussed will probably never be heard unless I go in and talk directly to them  Nick was super disappointed as he got all A's except one B+. We are proud of him, but he is disappointed in himself. A writing sample was turned in for Language Arts and he got a B on it. There are absolutely no comments on any of the writing so he's not sure where he went wrong or what he can improve on. The advisor said that he needs to learn to take the iniative to ask for clarification. He is getting As on everything in math so we think that he needs to be more challenged, but again they want him to talk to the teacher. Nick is my shy reserved child and he isn't comfortable going to his teachers so his goal for this quarter is to work on that. He has already said that he doesn't want to go to school on Monday since there is an awards ceremony in the morning. :headache:

That is a rather strange conference. Andrew has to attend his, but it's mostly teachers talking, and he can give input, though he's so shy he barely says anything. We have his today at 1:30. We got his report card yesterday, and he made 2 100s, 2 99s, a 97 and a 94. I'm going to politely tell the teachers that although I appreciated them backing off the homework for a while, it's gone back up significantly and is too overwhelming. I think they forget that dyslexia isn't Andrew's only learning difference.

I hope you can get everything cleared up and that Nick becomes more comfortable talking to his teachers. Andrew has called several of us in the last six weeks with questions, and they never return his call. I guess I'll ask about that today as well.

Hi all...

The meeting went well except for the fact that our old leader refused to acknowledge our presence. What ever! Everyone was extremely nice and I am excited to get us up and running.

I am on my way to the hospital after I get into some comfy clothes. I hope to be home early in the morning.

Theresa- I am sending you a ton of :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:'s and :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for everything you are dealing with.

To everyone else :wizard: and 's

I'm glad the GS meeting went well. Sending PD and prayers for the birth today!

What a disappointment. I hope you are able to move things around so you can go. I loved your kids' school pictures. Very cute!

Thanks for the advice for my friend everyone! I told her I took an informal poll because I love almost everything Disney and wanted advice from friends, and we all agreed they should try the party. She's excited, and seems to have done her homework on most everything.

Randy's company finished the project yesterday! He went home and took a well-deserved nap. I hope he can find out more about his new job today or tomorrow. He is dropping Jake off with SIL since Jake can't attend his conference, and bringing Andrew to my office until we go to his. I also have an appt. with my pretty boy dermatologist to get tortured again today.

Have a good day everyone! :)

I saw this! It doesn't affect our trip, but we did miss the "free" 2nd bag by about 2 days :sad2:

I missed the free second bag, though. I still think that packing the two 3-foot Christmas trees and ornaments in a second bag and paying $25 for that will be cheaper than shipping them to the resort.

Alyssa looks so much older in that photo.

I'd post my kids school photos, but I don't buy them :rolleyes1 We've never had a good one taken through the school so I gave up

I don't either.

Tammi-the kiddos are so grownup.

Cool about your electricity.

I had a dream I went to Target last night too...with somebody I couldn't see!!:lmao:

Sounds like a fun day...not!!

Tammi-sorry about the schedule change.
