so for the 2 days of the yard sale i made $40. Total between my mom, me and my cousin and GM. $200

Good morning, DDA!

Stephanie - I hope you feel better soon!

Vicki - Good luck making a decision on the new job!

Tammi - YAY for 3 weeks until the trip! It would be great if you guys could come to WDW next August!

Robyn - Yay for finishing the painting! I hope things settle down so you can sleep! :wizard:

Janet - Folks on the DVC board seem to really like Turf Club. We haven't ever been there. Good luck with your ADRs!

Jennifer - That's a cool toy! I bet Virginia would love it! :thumbsup2

DS thinks he might want the Wii Music game. So far he has just seen the commercial, I don't think he has played with a demo one anywhere.

I need to go buy some groceries. We have been out of bread for 3 days. :rolleyes1

Jeff asked me what I wanted for Christmas last night. I really can't seem to think of anything to tell him.

I never get manage to add up what we spent on DxDDP vs. what we WOULD have paid OOP with the DDE card, but I looked at one day and I am pretty sure this is how it went all week.

For one signature dinner and one buffet breakfast we would have paid $75 each that day. Add in 2 snacks at maybe $5 total, and our OOP cost would have been $80. We would have saved $10 over the cost of the plan for that day. BUT we had to tip!

So a $33 tip at dinner, and a $12 tip at breakfast adds $45 for the day. Subtract our $30 saving from our $45 tip and we are $15 in the hole for that day. And that represents a best case scenario. We lost 2 meal credits completely because they expired, burned 2 on sandwiches at the Poly, and ate 3 CS meals for dinner the night I was sick. That doesn't even begin to take into consideration that DS would have ordered from the kids menu at a lot of the restaurants if we were paying OOP because he prefers the small portions. :sad2:

So right off the top we lost a bare minimum of $105, but in reality we lost a LOT more because we didn't do signature dinner and buffet breakfast all 7 nights. :sad2:

I know why I'm not sleeping and I fear that it's only going to get worse before it gets better. There is a situation that has presented itself in the past week that I am having a hard time internalizing and dealing with. I hate to be so cryptic with everyone as I wish I could share more but I just can't.

Maybe I need to drive to Ohio for gas :teeth:

Hmm.... counterproductive, perhaps! :teeth: ;)

Cool!

We did not care for the Captain's Grille...food was mediocre and the service was abysmal. It's off our list

I need to make ADR's soon & I want to try a couple of new places out. Gary wants to eat at Ohana & the Beirgarten again. I told him about Cape May for dinner & Tusker House for breakfast & he wants to try those as well.

Has anyone eaten at the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club or at the Turf Club at SSR? These both look like good places to eat a nice dinner. I was thinking the Turf Club would be easy to get to beings we are staying at POR, wonder if we can take a boat there or if we need to go to DTD 1st?

I looked at Jiko's, Citrico's, Artist Point, & a few other places, but these two seemed to have a menu we would both like. We will not be on the dining plan, I will use my DDE card.

Thoughts, opinions?

I'm glad you're getting paid appropriately, while getting to try it out -- that's really nice! All companies should be so forward thinking!

I hope you're able to be at peace instead of stressing out too early. You'll know whether it's right or not, but I can totally relate to the mixed feelings about the change!

Jennifer said it so well, I'm just going to have to say "what she said", Vicki. I think it's great you get to "try" the job before accepting and love that you are appropriately paid. Good luck with your decision!

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

It is a gorgeous fall day here and I will spend it in front of this window! :)

What a perfect day for your event. Enjoy!

I hope that whatever it is works itself out for you soon. Lots of  and :wizard:!

Those are so cute! Sorry that the garage sale didn't go so well yesterday. :(

Jeff asked me what I wanted for Christmas last night. I really can't seem to think of anything to tell him.

I am having a big problem with this too! No idea what I want, plus I've got to come up with things enough for the inlaws too since we'll actually be there.

Good morning/afternoon, DDA. So my question of the day since Jennifer mentioned it and I'm struggling with it too...

What are some of the top things on your wish list?

And with that, I've got to go get the kitchen cleaned up before everyone gets home from chuch. Catch you all later!

That looks like a lot of fun. I think she will like it. If I'm not mistaken there are other active type products that are also interactive. I'm sure I've seen them on tv with kids running and jumping in place, but I don't remeber what they were called :confused3

Thanks Deb...after my unsuccessful attempt at Walmart, I did go ahead and order this. I couldn't face more rejection, so I didn't even attempt to go to Best Buy.

Jackie's laptop is on the fritz...this will either be the loaner or her temporary new one.

I'm glad you were able to get one :thumbsup2

I know that it would never be worth it for us. I don't even think we'd do the DDP again at all. Maybe the counter service or DDP for part of the trip.

I am going to give FIL a cute frame I found clearance at target. it is 3 frames so it will have a pic of each girl and a family pic. not sure what else. My dad is getting a couple of shirts. My mom not sure. Jeff wants a new camcorder. SO if I find a good deal on Black friday that is what he will get plus the extras. I have a couple of ideas for other things for him that are inexpensive. Plus I had to give ideas for him to my mom.

true but most of the ones I have seen are for 3-5. this one is actually 12 months to 3 years.

I am not sure I want to do the DDP again I felt we wasted to much time waiting to be seated. Of course we did mostly character meals last time.

Elin- Your hair color will fade. Red is the hardest dyed color to maintain. Years ago this was not the case, but the ingredient they put into it to keep the color, they found caused cancer. So they do not put that ingredient in the dye anymore.

I have had my hair basically every normal shade but black. In a week it will be less bright with normal care. I would not wash it with dish soap. Lots of people at my job of varying ages have hair similar in color to yours. Including me.

I am also still contemplating going in March for the half marathon and 5k. If I do not get to meet Jennifer and Kyle and the girls then. It better happen in 2010 on the Magic.

I am jealous of all of you with gas under $2.00 around here it is still almost $2.50. I was out of my normal travel area and paid $2.27 on Friday and then yesterday paid $2.09. I knew I was going into cheaper areas, but needed gas to get there.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Janet from POR, you have to take the boat to DTD and then take the boat to SSR or take a leisurely, enjoyable walk over to Turf Club. We ate there during our December trip and it was nice but I'm not sure it would be worth going out of your way like that for it.

We love TS meals so they are definitely worth it for us. I just don't want to pay MORE on the plan for the exact same thing we could get for less OOP! Since DS waffles on how much he eats it would make much more sense to just let him order according to how hungry he is each time. I am happy to let him order from adult or kid menu, as much or as little as he wants, I don't care. There is no way he needed appetizer - entree - dessert from the adult menu at every dinner, though. At Cali Grill & Coral Reef he ordered from the kids' menu and it was just right for him. He did have some sushi at Cali Grill in addition to his entree.
