DDA Chapter 13

I packed a ton into today, my last regular day before the boys come back.:sad1: But it shouldn't be too bad as Emma and I leave Thursday for Dallas. So it'll be a short week. I also don't think our bank account could handle me being able to run all day/everyday! Eric is afraid he's broke and he's probably close to it!

After dropping Emma off at school this morning we came back and put Lucy down for a nap. Mo and I then went to Gail's to help her with a few things on the computer. Came home and the 3 of played for a bit before lunch. Then Lucy and I dropped Mo off at school at noon. From there we drove to the "big mall" where we shopped at Children's Place, Stride Rite Outlet(the reason we went there, Lucy needed new shoes) and the Disney Store. They had a bunch of stuff on sale and then an additional 40% off. From there we left, filled up the van and hit the library, it's right next to Mo's school and we had a half hour to waste. Picked Mo up and then I got my hair cut and then we stopped at CVS before picking Emma up.

My mom called me and told me that my Uncle Buck was being taken to the hospital with pnuemonia. He's been in the same nursing home as my grandmother for the past few months. He is 96 years old (his wife was my Aunt Elsie that died back in Feb) and I don't think he'll be coming out.

I hope Uncle Buck is doing better. Both my boys have soccer games at 10:30 on Saturday. I should be able to join you guys around 12:45. Just let me know if that means Arboretum or somewhere to eat. I can't wait to meet you in person!

Prayers needed for Chuck's mom. She was put in the hospital on Wednesday night. They gave her some meds and that took care of the immediate issue (which I still don't know what it is exactly). She is still in the hospital as they are monitoring her. Chuck headed over there today and I'll head over tomorrow. I didn't want to go today because I'm still not 100% after the sore throat.

I'm glad she's already home. PD for her!

You do have to cancel existing reservations before the system will allow you to make a new one for the same dates. I had the most awesome CM this afternoon. "Caldwell" took care of all the cancellations, rebookings and refunds and deposits. I plan to write an email because he was patient and understanding and took 90 minutes to take care of all of it! We have adjoining rooms, courtyard view requested at POFQ for the trip. I am fine with it now that all is said and done.

I'm glad you got everything re-arranged. It sounds like a terrific trip.

Hey strangers. Been lurking lately and hope all is well with y'all. Have some exciting news however. Mya got a call last week from Make A Wish and they will be coming TOMORROW to talk to her about her wish.

Right now it's to have Hannah Montanah introduce her to all the Princess at DisneyWorld, but I think we might remove the Hannah part and settle for a some personal time with Ariel. We will see what she say's tomorrow.

It sounds like the visit went well. I hope you get good news soon. The pics of the kids in your sig are so cute!

Miss Tammi called a little while ago and she was on the way to the doctor. She is not feeling well at all. :(

Tammi -- I hope you are feeling better!

We had a great time. Never made it to Hollywood Studios. Almost didn't make it to MK!!!!! It rained everyday for at least 20 minutes. On our Illuiminations night it rained for hours. We still had a great time.

One day, no parks at all. It was all we could do to make it to our ADRs. :goodvibes

But we recharged. And are eagerly awaiting our next trip.:goodvibes

That's what it's all about isn't it??

Sounds like a terrific trip!

So i just realized that i am not sure if i told you about my cousin yesterday! My cousin (one of the ones in colorado) had a baby boy yesterday!! Connor James is the newest addition to our family--cannot wait to meet him in 3 weeks!!

Congrats!

I decided that I felt bad enough to go to an Immediate Care Center this morning. I am now home with a Z pack, albutural and Tussinex. The doctor said that I have developed a wheeze and that he can hear crap in my lungs, but it has not developed into pneumonia :thumbsup2 I've taken the first dose of the Z pack, now I'm using the inhaler and heading to bed for a while. I have plenty to do this afternoon, but I need rest now. The doctor said that it won't go away overnight, but I should be feeling much better by our flight on Saturday:worship: I certainly hope so.

I'm hoping you are feeling much better!

I also made a trip to Urgent Care today to get a Z pack. I'm too worn out to try to let this sinus infection go away without help.

Matty had another poop incident today at naptime. Luckily he had thrown out most of his stuffed friends before he pooped...the diaper also came off before he pooped, because it was in pristine condition. Have I mentioned he's on an antibiotic for his ear infection/pink eye? Gross!!!!

It's an absolutely gorgeous 80 degree day, but I haven't enjoyed it much.

And that's my pity party. ;)

P.S. At least we have leftover cake from the soccer celebration. :teeth:

P.P.S Phooey! I missed my post 4567.

Ditto -- I hope you are feeling better too. WTG Kevin on helping out today!

Marci - When you guys go to Great Wolf do you usually have a discount code? I am looking at that for DS's birthday. I signed up for their e-mails, but is there another way to get codes? AAA or Sam's Club travel or anything that you know of? THANKS! :thumbsup2

Yes -- I do have some codes. When is DS's birthday? What I have are only good through 12/18.

Good Morning All!

Abi is home sick...I usually let the girls decide whether they stay home or not but she let it slip that the longer she was upright the worse she felt so home she is.

So I decided to stay home with her....she is sleeping now. I may go back to bed (Glynis that Seance book was so the wrong book to start reading last night:scared1: ) and then more resumes and dishes done.

Cassidy has regionals this evening....pass some pixie dust this way that they even advance. That is how bad their scores have been this year.

I hope she is feeling better!

Hi friends!!

We went house hunting in NC this weekend. Looked at the suburbs of Raleigh & were very happy with what we saw. So at least I feel more settled about that. We found 2 homes we liked alot but we have alot to digest as we saw 20 homes in 2 days in 2 towns (Cary & Chapel Hill).

We were in CH the day of the Tarheals/Notre Dame game so that was fun to see all the college spirit & sea of light blue shirts.

So things are moving along & I am not stressing (AS MUCH!:rotfl: )

We had a B%$#@ of a trip home on I 95. I got a ticket in VA for passing a slow car. :sad1: I had been the speed limit & passed this car was going under the speed limit & bang I got nailed! I think I was over the speed limit for 20 seconds....:sad2:

Then some jerk in a little sports car who was going too fast lost control of his car & had a huge spin out in the middle lane almost hitting us..I slammed on the breaks to keep away from him but we were about a foot away from each other when he spun around.

The traffic to get back into NY was CRAZY!!!!!!!!!! I laughed when our realtor told us they had alot of traffic in CH due to the football game...Hey you don't know traffic until you cross a bridge back into NYC!!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Well anyway it was a very productive trip.

Hope everyone is doing good.

I'm glad you found a couple of houses. Sorry about the ticket.

and i decided next time in dalllas (because there WILL be a next time) i am staying longer to meet you ladies, if that is okay with you :)

Yes -- I'd love to meet you!

Elizabeth and/or Marci - Have either of you heard from Lindsay lately?

No -- I pm'd her a week ago and haven't heard back.

Sorry I haven't been around. Life has been busier than usual. I did manage to beg a plumber to fix our problem on Friday, and it was only $125. We had a great time with our friends this weekend, and the UT/OU game was terrific!

We cooked out that night and it went well too. Yesterday we spent at the Fair with my family, then picking up Andrew and Jake's friends. Today I went back to the Fair. I'm exhausted! I need to get off of here to get packed, as I have a conference in Ft. Worth and that is too far to drive three days, with meetings early and until later at night.

the band should be playing right now...they got 3rd from last performance because of their regional score last year....it's COLD here today but it is home field so that should help too. I can't wait to hear their score in an hour.

Here is hoping that they get a great score tonight! :thumbsup2

Elin - where did you book your carriage ride? I made our reservation at FtW but all they had was 8PM. I was hoping for something earlier, since our Park Fare ADR is 4:30. Plus I want to get to get the kids to bed at a decent hour. I'll keep checking to see if something earlier opens.

We are doing the carriage ride at POR/POFQ. It is only $35 and goes through both resorts.

Oh yes, I remember you saying that now. Maybe I will try to make our Park Fare for later. I'm thinking of adding a breakfast to our last day. My dad loves big breakfasts, but me not so much. My tummy needs about 4 hours before it can eat anything. And it cuts into park opening time. So if I make an 8AM ADR at Cape May, we could take a cab from OKW, and then walk over to Epcot. Or Ohana's and we could take the monorail. I'm thinking Cape May. Thoughts?

Marci - Yay for getting the shower fixed, relatively inexpensively. I'm glad you had a nice weekend with friends.

It's back to reality (work and school) tomorrow so I guess I should get to bed. Goodnight!

No -- I pm'd her a week ago and haven't heard back.

I just emailed her to make sure all is OK.

I am glad the plumbing fix was fairly inexpensive and that you all had a good weekend! :)

I have heard some not-so-good things about the 'Ohana breakfast in the past couple of weeks. I would go to Cape May!

Marci - I think we are looking at Feb. 6 for DS at Great Wolf. I did stumble across the page on the website where they have codes listed, and as of now there is nothing past December. I will keep watching. DS is starting to warm up to the idea, but now I am not sure which room category we need. If I have to share a room with up to 6 boys and DH then I want more than one toilet, and there are only 2 rooms that offer that! :rotfl:

I will try to phone Lindsay tomorrow.

We had a horrible time at Ohana in August. Just sayin'. :rolleyes1

Kevin's boss saved my sanity today by closing down the office at noon (the courts were already closed for Columbus Day).

I was confident that I could handle portraits by myself, because I packed popcorn and a movie. I figured we could get a few shots of all three kiddos and then I could set Alyssa and Matty up with the movie and focus on Noah. The only problem...the TV was broken!

Kevin wins the "husband of the day" award for deciding to join us for this expedition without my having to call him. After Kevin viewed the proofs, he took Alyssa and Matty home.

I should be able to share the pictures with you by the end of the week. We also saw the big wall portrait of the DDA celebrities, Avery and Elise. :goodvibes

Oh, and I wasn't the only one panicked about a broken TV...you should have seen the poor photographer. She was already in a frenzy because yesterday, a co-worker's appendix burst and this morning, another co-worker was in a car accident. Thank goodness corporate promised her a new TV shipped within 24 hours!

Can't wait to see the pics. Yay for Kevin saving the day!!

Karen is in Houston which is about 5 hours from here (I think).
I am not sure exactly where Jennifer's town is, so not sure how long that drive is.

That would be great! :thumbsup2

DS has just been telling us more about his little adventure on Saturday night. It turns out they were LEAVING DOLLAR TREE at 8:30 PM!
They used DS's phone to call the dad and let him know they were headed back to the house. It was COMPLETELY DARK by then! And they hadn't had dinner yet! OK, no more sleepovers at that kid's house. Nice kid, obviously clueless parents who are also disorganized.

I love how all the info continues to come in a bit here and there.

UGH football vent ahead! I just found out that dallas' quarterback, tony romo, is out for 4 weeks !! i dont remember seeing the backup play--he ahsnt started since 2006--it may be interesting next week!

I read that earlier and thought about you!

We were short handed at work tonight. Thankfully it wasn't extremely busy, but it was busy enough. I really shouldn't have gone in as it only took minutes before I was simply exhausted with a bad back ache. I made it until the end, but it sucked. I have tomorrow night off. I should be feeling much better before my shift on Wednesday night.

Once I got home from work I gathered us all together and we made little snack bags for our flight. Reese's peices, M&Ms, chocolate covered pretzels, peanuts, chex mix. Everyone put only what they wanted in their bags so everyone should be happy :thumbsup2 We'll grab some drinks at the airport. Our flight is almost 5 hours as we have a stop in Philadelphia that I didn't notice when I booked :sad2:

:wizard: for your shoulder. I sure hope your feeling better before you leave.

guess not! :rotfl:

Nope, not even close :goodvibes

We had a very nice day.

Bob and Bethany came over and after breakfast we were off and running. First we took both of my kids for haircuts, then off to the mall. Alyssa got a few new outfits and I got my eyebrows done. They were slowly turning into a unibrow. I got some things returned/exchanged and then we stopped for a game of putt-putt. Bob sucks at putt-putt.
3.gif
Which makes me looks REALLY good! He took us all out to dinner at Smokey Bones. Alyssa had ballet tonight and Nicholas' football practices have been changed from Tues/Thurs to Mon/Thurs. I felt so much better today, until I spent 2 hours out in the damp, cool air at football. Now I'm coughing again. It was nice to get out of the house for awhile.

Sounds like a great day!! Sorry the cough has returned. :wizard:

I have not. I guess we need to call her and see if she is available to see Robyn this weekend.

Robyn -What day & time is your flight home?

We leave Sunday at 1pm.

the band should be playing right now...they got 3rd from last performance because of their regional score last year....it's COLD here today but it is home field so that should help too. I can't wait to hear their score in an hour.

:wizard: for a good score!!

Since I stayed home with Abi I actually got a little bit done...I also remember why I would love/hate to be a stay at home mom. It was nice to make sure Cassidy had a good meal before she went off to play but I also know I wasn't meant to stay at home and do just housework.

After last week I know I couldn't stay home without doing daycare, our checking account can't handle it! But it's nice to have those moments when you can. I sure enjoyed just being able to eat breakfast and lunch with the girls in peace.

I hope Uncle Buck is doing better. Both my boys have soccer games at 10:30 on Saturday. I should be able to join you guys around 12:45. Just let me know if that means Arboretum or somewhere to eat. I can't wait to meet you in person!

So far Uncle Buck is holding his own. His grandkids saw him before they came to the family reunion on Saturday and said he's looked better than he had in a long time. :confused3 The sad thing is his mind is as sharp as a tack, it's just his body that is failing.

So glad the plumbing fix wasn't too expensive. Try and get some rest, your weekend was jammed packed as always.

Uncle Julio's at 12:30 on Saturday followed by the Arboretum. We'll save ya a seat!! I am so excited.

Julio's on Saturday at 12:30. It's a date! This is going to be such a fun weekend!

I just got an e-mail back from DS's language arts teacher. She said he didn't turn in his 6 weeks test until after the grades had been turned in so he got a score of 50! :scared1: NO WONDER his grade for the marking period took a nose dive of nearly 10%. He is so lucky he is in bed right now. He would have had an "A" for the marking period if he had just turned the test in ON TIME. She said when she asked him why he didn't turn it in on time he said he forgot. Great. :sad2:

Robyn - Good thoughts for Uncle Buck.
The nannies who end up staying home with their kids are usually not very happy because they don't have money to go do anything. When your family loses one income it isn't like you can go traipsing around with the kids like you could with your charges.
My friend went to the Fair last week and her boss paid the $25 valet parking fee. The bosses pay the nanny's admission into the zoo, museums, whatever places we take our charges. It is expensive to do all that stuff! If DS is with me I don't ask to be reimbursed for parking, and I always pay 100% of DS's expenses. Things that I do just with Princess I charge to my bosses. I like to have time off but I think after a few weeks of no money and being stuck in the house because of no money I would be ready to work some more! :rotfl2:

Robyn-I am glad that your Uncle is holding his own...I have volunteers who are slowly breaking down body wise and one who is mentally breaking down...I think I would rather the body.

So I just checked the scores....unless a LOT more bands in the last 3 regions score lower this Saturday will be the end of band season. :guilty:

I was waiting up to hear how they did, Theresa. I am sorry the scores are not better. :(

And now it is time for bed! see you all in the morning. :)
