DDA Chapter 13

Non-conformist!

I love my hats! I buy solid white ones at Target every year, and I have 2 WDW hats. I bought a bunch of Adidas baseball caps at Marshall's but they fit funny so I don't wear them. I have one from Starbucks and one from an online healthcare company that I like, too. I am picky about baseball caps because the tops of my ears get really sore if the hat touches them, so the hats have to be cut a certain way.

This isn't a great time of year for baseball caps. Definitely look in the Spring! (Or make somebody bring one back from WDW for you. :rolleyes1 )

I have my tie dye hat. It was originally white but one of the counselors tie dyed it at camp for me. I wear it kayaking and at Disney. I love that hat.

So did all off you with an AP receive the email with a pin code for Nov. dates for $49 a night at the values? Also being able to shop early at World of Disney & buying some merchandise at 35% off on select dates.

To bad I can't take advantage of it :sad2:

No, I didn't get that.

Kristine - DH is not sure what to think of his fabulous custom socks. Tsk, tsk. He should be grateful. ;)

Amy - Wow! That was quite a crash. I am so glad that Barbie's injuries aren't more serious. DS said "At least she's not paralyzed." Kid logic. Around here the drunk drivers usually walk away with a few scratches and the people they hit are the fatalities. :headache:

When is your birthday? We have to go for F&WF next year or for a DDA meet. There are places that Chuck doesn't want to go without having a group of us. He keeps commenting on how much fun we had with our DDA buddies.
I want to go too!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very scary, indeed!

This guy was 44-years-old. Two people called 911 (before he hit Barbie) to report he was swerving and ran a red light. The guy behind him was honking at him. The car right in front of Barbie managed to swerve out of his path, but then he hit Barbie.

Here's a picture. His Rodeo is on the left...Barbie's Escalade on right.

Wow. That was a horrific crash. Did you say that the drunk driver died in the crash? If that is true it is definitely for the best as I'm sure he would continue to drink and drive.

Yes, yes, and yes.

Your dinner sounded lovely. Hope you had a relaxing evening reading.

They all turned out great!

Yep, I think it's about the only thing I can handle. Too bad my MIL forgot her German or she could have translated them for you.

Amy, I hope you were able to sleep uninterrupted last night and wake up feeling a bit better today. More :wizard: for your friend.

Thanks, Steffy!! Can I come for your birthday trip, too? Mine is 2 days later we could just celebrate the whole time!!:goodvibes

Chanon your hair looks fine in all of those pictures. If you're aren't please you could always say you were running a bit late because it was your honeymoon ;) EEEEeeewwwwww:lmao: :lmao:

I would love to go, but then Chris would just have to go since I couldn't possibly go to WDW without him:love: That time of year never works out well for us. Next week or the week of Thanksgiving are when we can usually dig out time for something.

Robyn and Emma I hope you have a wonderful Mother Daughter trip. It sounds like it will be busy for sure.

Thanks for all the good wishes on our trip. Only 1 1/2 more sleeps until we leave :cool1:

nothing like a "special delivery" :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

it only gets kinky if I make him wear the official USPS socks ONLY
:lmao: :lmao:

anyone have any thoughts about how incredibly crowded WDW is over Thanksgiving week? I am pondering it for next year. Jackie being is high school is really going to cramp my style
The week after Thanksgiving is probably the best week of the year.

Very scary, indeed!

This budget is killing me. I worked 11.5 hours yesterday. I went to Disney with the knowledge that I would have to finish when I got back. It wasn't that far off when I left. I figured, piece of cake. Well no.

I HAVE to have this finished by Monday. Which just might make me have to work this weekend. Which effectively dilutes my vacation.

I remember when Bernadette gave her reason for not traveling this time of year. I have a meeting with the finance committee on Wednesday; meetings Monday and Tuesday. Everything must be on my Exec. Dir's desk on Monday.

I don't think I can go this time again. Not October, not September. So no birthday trip. :sad2: :sad2:

Nick's appointment went well. He has a couple of topical lotions to use. One for morning and one for evening. She also recommended the Neutrogena acne wash for daily cleansing morning and night. Hopefully it will work. He won't start the prescription meds until after vacation.

I got my hair trimmed and my brows waxed. I picke up the last minute stuff. Tomorrow is just at home stuff so hopefully everything will go well.

Stephanie there are other times of year to enjoy Disney. If this budget thing makes fall not work then you will find a better time. It really isn't worth taking a vacation then working extra hours to make up the work

My birthday is November 16. We'll just go for mine! As long as there is a DDA meet!!!! :lovestruc

So where is everyone? I'm trying to keep my mind occupied, but there is no one here :confused3

Yep, I think it's about the only thing I can handle. Too bad my MIL forgot her German or she could have translated them for you.
I know you can do it. I haven't tried a t-shirt dress yet.

I was looking at the 4th - 9th.
Cool!! Maybe thinking of WDW in May will keep you warm.

our town is already talking about a salt shortage....should make for a very interesting winter
Ummmm....wouldn't any salt savings be less than the extra emergency services used to respond to all the accidents?

I FINALLY got my Dream Reward Dollars for our DVC purchase! Those will come in handy.
That's nice!

it's definitely not the cold but the light....

lite boxes are the most effective....but not cheap. my vote is for this one....goLITEBlu..........it seems to have very positive reviews....but there is some controversy surrounding these lights

I would probably get a sun burn with one.

The weather isn't looking too bad. Possible showers everyday, but we've learned to expect that anytime we head south. The temps should be in the 80s everyday which is a huge improvement from the 40s and 50s here.
Hope you have great weather!

I don't either....but I've got a mondo big head so no hat fits!!
I have a huge head too. I find baseball caps with velcro work best for me. I can't really wear the ones with a metal clasp.

for you Elizabeth....

:rotfl2:

I am ready to go and just waiting on my dad to get here in a bit. He is taking us to the airport. He did offer to let Eric take us and him sit with the kids. I swear retirement is making him crazy. It's nap time so they are all asleep but heaven forbid if one of them woke up:scared1: , he certainly wouldn't know what to do. Our flight is out at 4pm and we arrive in Dallas at 8pm tonight.

Thanks everyone for the safe travel pixie dust. I am taking my laptop so I'm sure I'll check in at some point.

I hope I can keep a straight face if I get to meet Elizabeth's DH. :rolleyes1
I'm sure you'll have a blast!!!!

I need to ask prayers for our friend Dylan (I've posted pictures of him here...he's our long haired friend who is the same age as Abi)

Dylan broke his collar bone the same week that Abi broke her arm back in 1st grade. Well.....he broke it again this week only worse. He may need to have surgery to pin it and he has probably also seperated his shoulder in the accident. Dixie (his mom) is a paranoid parent...not helicopter just paranoid and is now more scared to send him to school. I love Dixie but I did have to tell her I know she is paranoid and I've known for a long time.
Hope Dylan heals quickly and his mom settles down.:wizard:

Well we don't have date's but I have started booking ADR's late February. Any recomendations?

I got Cinderalla's royal table and I'm hoping there's a Princess/Pirate Party.
I LOVE your signature photos!!!

We also love the 8:00am breakfast at Crystal Palace. I actually enjoy any meal there but walking up an nearly empty Main St is magical-be sure to book it on an non EMH morning day.

I like Chef Mickey's better for breakast than dinner.

I like Tusker House breakfast. I like the food at Cape May breakfast but have some little issues with service the last 2 breakfast meals there. My DS said the dinner with DDA friends there last Aug was the best meal of his life.

My kids all love the Sci Fi Dinner at MGM.

I wanna go!!!!!! I need a vacation after this year's budget. I guess I'll have to wait until late January.

I just got off the phone with my friend Barbie. Her surgery went well and now she has a rod fusing her femur back together. She also has broken ribs, a torn ligament in her ankle, burns on her face from the air bag, etc. Luckily, the other driver was insured. It is also very fortunate that she had her ten-year-old in the back with the two-year-old, because the paramedics told her a front seat passenger would most likely not have survived the crash.
The poor thing. How scary the whole thing is. Imagine if she wasn't in an Escalade.:sad2:

:wizard: Good Luck!!!!! I've been in meetings all last week and this week. I had a meeting from 12-1:30 yesterday that really got out at 4pm. How am I supposed to get work done???? I have one last meeting tomorrow but have to implement all the budget changes now, print all new reports, AND do the 3rd Quarter forecast for the meeting Tuesday with the President. It is SOOOOOO rushed this year (the CFO took a few days off so we couldn't do meetings those days.:headache: ). Don't feel too bad....I didnt' take any vacation during the budget and I'll probably be in the office this weekend.

My birthday is November 16. We'll just go for mine! As long as there is a DDA meet!!!! :lovestruc
Now that would work for me!:thumbsup2

I'm watching Grey's.

Kristine - Might as well make him the boxers because he won't have a reason to take them off anytime soon!

Last night DS dropped marinara on his shorts so DH washed them. Fine. Then DH dropped sauce on his own shirt, so he washed another load of laundry. He NEVER washes anything other than towels. Remember that for a minute.

Today DS got his PE uniform. An ADULT medium! It is HUGE. The shorts are so big DH can wear them. The coach said to wash them and they will shrink. Um, no, a 50/50 shirt will NOT shrink, and neither will nylon shorts. They will melt before they will shrink. But I washed them anyway.
I opened the dryer to put the NOT shrunken PE uniform in there and what did I find? One of my new Ralph Lauren shirts that CAN'T GO IN THE DRYER. :headache:  The ONE TIME DH washes a load of laundry he gets MY shirt and ruins it. :sad2:

DS's PE uniform is still gigantic. The coach gave him permission to keep wearing his own shorts. Apparently they didn't bother to order anything smaller than adult mediums, which is just stupid. DS probably can't even wear youth large shorts. The shorts he has been wearing for PE are children's 7/8! The shirt is halfway to his knees.

I did not. :confused3
