DDA Chapter 12

Oh good idea ::yes::

They come around once in a blue moon!

Don't I know it! It's good in a scary way! I figure all this exhaustion is my body reminding me what it will be like with a newborn. I haven't had to deal with that for 6 years!

Sorry about the homework drama. Katie gets that way with math a lot. I emailed her teacher about it, and lately it's been better. Apparently, he works with her (and the class) until he's sure they understand it. The last couple of days, she's been able to complete the math at school. It makes for a happier Katie (not to mention mommy). We still get the drama though. It just manifests differently if math is not the impetus. We've still got piano practicing, violin practicing, the why does this girl hate me thing. It's never ending!

It's comforting to know that we're not alone in this battle of wills!!

Sounds like Alan. He just doesn't think people need something he hasn't thought of. My kids know not to ask him for stuff like that. They simply get it themselves. Of course, then he gives them stink eye!

Definitely stupid!!!! Men!

I guarantee that he'd get just as ticked if they would have gotten up to get it themselves.

Well, I'm all caught up. Guess I have to go make dinner. We're having tuna pizza tonight. Very easy, and my kids will eat it without a fuss (no butter, either, Robyn).

After dinner, I get to fold laundry, do dishes, and then I get to relax! Maybe I'll make the kids do the dishes!!!

Sounds intriguing, would you mind sharing the recipe, please

Thank you Jennifer!!!

Adorable!

OK, 7th grade is NOT GOOD. DS came home and said he had no homework. Which is true if you spin it the right way. DS has like 5 different things due Friday, and none of them are finished. :scared: Two of them were just assigned today, 2 of them are things that are due every Friday (reading log and summaries of 2 TV news stories), and one is a HUGE project that isn't due until next month but the directions are very confusing. :headache: He has to make a brochure (like the one from last year, but without directions!). The stupid brochure counts as a project grade in ALL OF HIS CORE CLASSES! He can work with a partner, but DS isn't clear on whether or not they can work on it at school. He also hasn't firmed up WHO his partner will be, but the 2 he named are good choices. The directions say something about 4 pages. OK, so, like a whole 8x11 page? That's not a brochure where I come from. And DS has no clue, because that's how he rolls.
Is it June yet? I really need it to be June now.

I hope you can get it all figured out.

Just saying hi--just got home from back to school night--13 hours at school today--ugh!

How sweet of Katie to be such a good helper!

I had back and leg issues with Emma too. I was worried that it would linger after birth for a long while but I'm happy to say it went away right away. She was always sitting on my bladder too and I was worried that I'd never be dry again after I had her but that problem went away too.:thumbsup2

Thanks, Bernadette.

Sounds like a plan to me, Glynis! Terra was put into service today on several occassions as well. She was actually going to have one more big job, but fell asleep on the way to get Phil and now it's dark. Guess she'll get to pick up sticks tomorrow. :teeth: Gotta find a way to make that list shorter.

Luckily, her help today crossed off one of the big items so that was good. One more load to wash, 2 to dry and 3 to fold and laundry is done all around too. I've declared a moratorium on laundry after the next load hits the washer. Everyone has been given warning that the load goes in first thing in the morning and after that they are on their own!

Way to go Terra!! :cheer2:

Does anyone want a husband? I am sure you don't but thought I'd ask anyway! Every thing he is doing is just aggravating me to pieces but tonight at dinner I'd thought I'd have to choke him. Over what, you ask? Mashed potatoes and butter. Eric cooked dinner- meatloaf, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Emma or Molly asked for butter and his response was "There's no need for it do without" UGH, why is it a big deal. Go get the butter and put it on their potatoes and even broccoli if they wanted. For crying out loud who eats plain mashed potatoes! Stupid, huh?!?

Robyn - he seriously needs to just give them butter!

Thanks to everyone for the many welcomes! For those of you who asked, I am 33 yrs old (turning 34 during my upcoming DW trip), married to a great husband (Robyn's kindergarten boyfriend I might add), and have 2 DD - Sydney, 5 yrs :cheer2: and Katelyn 2 yrs princess: . I'm a elementary math resource teacher, which basically means I travel to about 12 schools in my county helping teachers be better math teachers! :teacher: It is a thankless job right now, as we've just adopted a new math program and everyone's struggling. I taught 4th grade for several years and miss it but this job gives me lots of flexibility, a great boss, and good experience should I decide to use my hard-earned master's degree and go into adminstration.

As for Disney, we typically go to DW every other year in the blistering hot days of July or August, since that's when I'm off work. This year, I've managed to convince DH to go at Christmas. So, we're leaving on Black Friday and driving to DW, unless airfare prices go down. We're staying at CBR. We stayed there in 2007 and loved it so we decided to go there again. As Robyn said, my 5 year old doesn't know about the trip yet. I'm trying to find a good way to tell her but without a holiday or birthday coming, I'm stumped. I'll take suggestions!!! I told the 2 year old but only because I couldn't stand keeping it a secret any longer and, since she can't really tell her sister, the secret is still safe.

I think that about covers it. Again, thanks to everyone for the welcome. I'll try to keep up but I'm already overwhelmed at the number of posts here.

I swear he has PMS!!

You had to go there!! ;)

Don't worry about keeping up, someone always is willing to give a recap. But now that you're here (or sucked in as Eric says) you won't be able to leave.

Yes - I did!!! Who can resist sharing that kind of info???

Ok, I know I probably missed this but I don't have time to go back and catch up right now. What does everyone think about the DVC announcement of the two resorts? Surprise, surprise! NOT!!!! :lmao: Those of us with DVC are going to have to pool points and rent one of the Treehouse Villas sometime!!!!

umm Tuna Pizza?

stop the stupid merry go round I want to get off. :headache: :sad1:

I am tired of still having to rob Peter to pay Paul and still not paying everything, telling the girls "no" to nearly everything. I am tired of hating my job, tired of being unhappy. I am tired of crying, I am tired of putting on a happy face.

In essence I am just tired. Thank goodness the trip is already paid for and is nonrefundable or I would have been tempted, for a second, to cancel it

I had to get that off my chest...don't feel better yet but maybe I will later.
:grouphug: I'm sorry Theresa. But I'm glad that you feel comfortable enough to come here and relieve some stress. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Just got rid of one, don't need another. Unless he has lots of insurance and one foot in the grave. I would never eat either mashed potatos or broccoli without butter. Next time he wants salad, give it to him without any dressing. ;)

Interesting ;) :rotfl:

We went during Christmas for the 1st time last year & I loved it!

Let me guess....Everyday Math, or whatever it's called. This is our second year with it, and I'm having a hard time accepting it.

Eric took 2/3rds of the girls over to his parents after dinner for a bit and came home with some news. Apparently his mom had went to the eye doctor a few weeks back and was diagnosed with cataracts. She went today for a 2nd opinion and found out that the blood vessels in her bad eye are burst or severed. Basically it means that she is blind in that eye. From what I got out of Eric there is little they can do. She has had numerous little accidents/incidences and I guess it all seems to make sense now. She works from the mid afternoon to late evening and I imagine that she will no longer be driving at night if at all.

I guess in the grand scheme of things butter seems insignificant!

We like the looks of the BLV, but the amount of points required seem steep. The treehouse villas look wonderful and if initial speculation is correct they should be priced around the point value of a 2 bedroom which means we might be able to stay there :thumbsup2
