stop the stupid merry go round I want to get off. :headache: :sad1:

I am tired of still having to rob Peter to pay Paul and still not paying everything, telling the girls "no" to nearly everything. I am tired of hating my job, tired of being unhappy. I am tired of crying, I am tired of putting on a happy face.

In essence I am just tired. Thank goodness the trip is already paid for and is nonrefundable or I would have been tempted, for a second, to cancel it

I had to get that off my chest...don't feel better yet but maybe I will later.

I'm sorry, Theresa. I wish things would take an upward swing for you! :wizard: Obviously we are here for you, and you can vent here whenever you need to!

I'm new to the this board, as a friend just directed me here. I'm looking forward to chatting about all things Disney. We're super exciting to be going to DW in November 29-December 6. This will be our first holiday visit!

Can't wait to chat with everyone!

welcome
I am Jennifer mommy to 2 Princess Olivia age 5 and Virginia age 10 months. I am a RN full time. we are leaving in 4 days for WDW.

Glynis glad to hear you are feeling better, sorry that your back is giving you problems.

I found a new recipe that was a hit for the whole family. :thumbsup2

STIR-FRIED BEEF TERIYAKI

1 lb. boneless lean beef (chuck, round or flank)
3 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. honey
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. minced fresh ginger root or 1/8 tsp. powdered ginger
1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
2 tbsp. salad oil

1. With sharp knife, cut meat across grain into 1/8 inch thick slices.
2. Mix soy sauce, honey, sherry, ginger and garlic in bowl. Add beef and mix to coat pieces well. Let stand 15 minutes. Drain but reserve liquid.
3. Heat oil in wok or wide frying pan over high heat. When hot, add half the meat and stir fry about 2-3 minutes until browned. Repeat for the second batch of meat.
4. Transfer to serving dish. Add reserved marinade to pan. Heat to boiling. Stir then pour over meat.

I served this over rice and also sauted some onions, carrots, and sugar snap peas to mix with the beef. Yum!

My plans are:

Fri - most likely Epcot for F&WF. Will hit the booths at WS rope drop. Dinner at Whispering Canyon then DTD. (If for some reason I can hit enough booths during the preview on Thurs, we may do MK this day, but I don't know.)

Sat - Magic Kingdom, Family Magic Tour in the morning, dinner at 1900 Park Fare, Spectro and Wishes.

Sun - Depart early morning for our flight

I believe that Jennifer's plans overlap ours on both of those days, but I don't know what her Sun plans are. I'd love the chance to meet up with you if we overlap anywhere!!!

sunday I think MGM is the park. We have ADR at 6pm at Boatrights for our Anniversary. Fri we are at Epcot, Sat MK we leave early on Mon the 29th.

I know Kristine has my cell phone number because we have talked back and forth on our cells before. Jennifer... do you have my number? And will you have your cell phone with you? If so, does it end in **48. Is that one still the right one?

yes I will have mine and yes it ends in 48 not sure if I have yours. I will check the DDA list when I get home.

My throat is hurting again. Darn post nasal drip. I need to head to bed, but I know that Everything is going to move into my throat and I won't be able to sleep anyway. I so wish that I could find a med that would dry me up without wiring me. I want Nyquil for the abnormal I guess :confused3

I had hoped to read you were feeling better today. :wizard:

He LOVES your e-mails! ;) Planning is FUN!

Sure he does!!

Good luck with that. Our homework issues have started already too.

Thanks, it wasn't much better tonight. She has been given the ultimatum of getting it done in a reasonable amount of time with out the drama or the violin goes back.

I woke up in the middle of the night with my finger in my ear scratching. I have no idea how far in there it was, but now it's plugged up! I hate this feeling!

How are you feeling now?

Laura + homework = drama many nights (still!). The boys just do theirs.

That is NOT what I wanted to hear!!! :goodvibes

Good Morning DDA!

We finally have power again! Whew! Who knew I would miss it so much! I am definitely not a pioneer! We lost power on early on Sunday afternoon, and it just came back on around 2:00 a.m. last night.
There was a little excitement involved in it though. The firetrucks were next door.
A transformer caught the neighbor's tree on fire.
After lots of sawing and more mess for her to clean up, the power was restored in our block.
Thankfully the temps were down, so our natural a/c was sufficient!

We had wind gusts of over 80 mph here! Barely a drop of rain! :confused3
I have never seen so much destruction around this town. Lots of trees uprooted, power poles down, siding off of houses and businesses, leaves and general debris everywhere!
Still over half the town is without power.
At least we are safe and our house and roof are still intact.
No school yesterday or today. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

I just kind of skimmed over the last 20 pages, so forgive me if I don't respond.

I am glad you got your power back and are all safe.

We have those issues with Rachel and math. It's not that it's really that hard, it's just that Mom and I didn't learn these "ways" of doing it or some of the steps they teach. Then, the book is mostly a workbook with very few examples and no "teaching" of the material. I have to try to decipher things from the one or two examples. Luckily, they are taking notes more now so Rachel has a few things written down too so I can usually come up with it. I just don't get how we're supposed to help with homework without the actual info to do so. I hope the timer works. I know it helps Terra focus on cleaning up just by knowing there is a limit to how long she'll be working (even if she actually has to finish the job regardless).

The stuff she had tonight was something I could handle, thank goodness. But I think they need to send home cheat sheets for the parents.

Robyn -- be sure you leave well before dark. It can be very scary at night. Also, it's been my experience that it's hard to find parking inside the fair grounds if you go in the afternoon, but maybe you'll get lucky. What do you think Elizabeth?

I can try to do that. Lunch/dinner would work better, as both boys have soccer games in different cities at 10:30. We usually do Komen as well, but I might have to scoot back to Kaufman right after it. We'll see how things shape up, but I do have it on the calendar.

Soccer was so pleasant last night -- we're having great weather after the storm. We're going to watch my nephew play football tonight and should have great weather for that as well.

Thanks for the info, I'm passing it all onto Joe! We'll definitely have to coordinate with you for a time that will work. I'm excited.

Good Morning all!!

The band stinks....sorry had to get that off my chest. For being as far ahead as they were 2 weeks ago they seemed to have decided to scrap almost everything and start over. :confused3 But I am having oh so much fun really getting to know the other band parents.

Because I had one more person ask to sign up I am going to save the name pulling until after supper tonight!!

I am officially Auntie once more to Caleb born this morning.

Hi Dana!! and Welcome!! I am Theresa, an overworked, overstressed mess. :rotfl: Seriously, I am 37 and mom to 2 beautiful girls, Cassidy, 16 and Abi, 12. I work as an office manager at a church right now. We don't get to go to Disney often but we are already planning Cassidy's graduation extravaganza. My mom lives near Robyn.

Hugs and Prayers for all!!

I am glad that you are enjoying your time with the band, my mom always had a fun time with the other parents. Welcome Caleb!!

Theresa :wizard:

well Virginia is not vomiting and not having watery stools but she is not eating very well.

I feel like I'm getting another sinus/ear infection. I don't have time for this! I took some allergy meds this morning in the hopes of breaking things up before they get too bad but it makes me feel lousy.:scared:

I hope you can avoid a full blown mess. :wizard:

I was so focused on getting Alyssa to school on time, that I didn't bother to check if the school was open. I assumed (silly me!) that since most of our area's power had been restored, we were good to go. This year, I also take another little girl to and from school, and her grandmother had to tell me there was no school.

So, we spent the morning picking up leaves and twigs. Hopefully that will please my injured husband. His first PT appointment was cancelled yesterday...boo!

Tom, thanks for checking in! I haven't heard from Jen today. I found out another friend is still without power, too. I feel so blessed that my household was spared that headache.

I'm very excited for all of you who have trips coming up so quickly! Also, I hope anyone not feeling 100%, feels better soon! :wizard:

Hope you all are having a good day! :wave2:

Sorry you had to rush around for nothing. I know it's not a fun task at all.
I hope things return to normal soon.

Welcome Dana! :goodvibes

I'm Amy (age 36), a very sleep-deprived mother of three (Alyssa, age 4; Matthew aka Matty, age 2; and Noah, 2 1/2 months). I've been a SAHM for four years, and I hold a degree in secondary communications education (I taught high school for nine years before Alyssa came along). I'm married to Kevin (age 37) who recently tore a calf muscle coaching Alyssa's soccer team. He's employed as a county prosecutor and he's also president of our city council. We live 15 miles north of Cincinnati.

I wish I knew Robyn in real life, too! She and I could go into the cake-making business! :teeth:

Even if we didn't sell anything we'd have fun!!!!

Thanks, everyone, for your concern. I actually slept really well last night. I only had to get up once to go to the bathroom!!!

The biggest problem now is the constantly aching back! Nothing helps, so I'm just trying to find ways to deal with it.

Other than that, things are going really well. Katie is being a huge help, fixing dinner for me, as I recline on the couch and tell her what to do. She's been a bit of a pill lately, so it's nice to see the soft side of her again. She's going out of town with Alan this weekend for some one on one time. Hopefully that will sweeten her disposition even more.

:cheer2: Way to go Katie!! I am sorry this is so tiring for you. Peanut will be here before you know it though!!

I'm sorry, Theresa. I wish things would take an upward swing for you! :wizard: Obviously we are here for you, and you can vent here whenever you need to!

Ditto.'s and :wizard:

:cool1: :cool1: Some trips are coming up so quickly. I'm very jealous. To make matters worse Colby keeps asking when we are going back :sad2: He wants us to go back for 4 weeks next time :goodvibes We also asked him if he'd like to do something special with just Mom and Dad like we did for Hunter. He does and where do you think he'd like to go....Hawaii :lmao: :lmao:

So far so good here with homework. They boys have been trained to get their homework done as soon as they get home from school or no video games. They also get earlier bedtimes if I have to keep reminding them. They've done great. Of course my kids hate to go to bed so that is always a useful threat as is video game losses. I also follow through on all threats and they know it :thumbsup2 I guess you just need to hit em where it hurts for motivation. Good luck finding yours.

Does anyone want a husband? I am sure you don't but thought I'd ask anyway! Every thing he is doing is just aggravating me to pieces but tonight at dinner I'd thought I'd have to choke him. Over what, you ask? Mashed potatoes and butter. Eric cooked dinner- meatloaf, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Emma or Molly asked for butter and his response was "There's no need for it do without" UGH, why is it a big deal. Go get the butter and put it on their potatoes and even broccoli if they wanted. For crying out loud who eats plain mashed potatoes! Stupid, huh?!?

Sounds like she is getting better. :wizard:
