Jen 22 kids sounds like a lot to me, good luck I know you will do well!

Elizabeth glad ds made it through the 1st week :teacher:

To all I have missed :wizard: &

I think I will have enough material left after shortening the curtains to recover our dining chairs. Do you think that would be too much of that one material?

E
22 kids :scared: Our school system doesn't think our straight K teacher can handle 22 kids at all. They ended up splitting the class into a morning and afternoon session. The teacher has 16 kids in the morning and 6 in the afternoon :confused3 Of course that reduced the day for each class by 15 minutes per day initially and erased any hope of extending the school day after February vacation which is what has happened in the past :sad2:

22 is about right around here for a LARGE class and I have no doubt Miss Jennifer can do it....but what would have the class size been WITHOUT that grant??

Im definitely nervous, but I had 22 kids in my prek class, even though there was another teacher iwth me, i feel pretty confident. Everything is pretty much done, but i have a bit more to do this weekend. On tuesday, ill figure out lesson plans for the first week, which are normally nothing major i was told..im so scared but so excited!

So where is everyone? It seems to be a slow night. Then again most people are probably in bed.

Today was the third anniversary of Katrina, there are way to many to look at them all but the local paper has put together some before and after photos.

Wow. It amazes me how some of those building looked so substantial, like they would withstand anything, yet Katrina completed destroyed them. It is hard for someone living in an area where hurricanes just don't happen to understand the depth of the devastaion. The worst that happens here is flooding in low lying areas or houses/barns collapsing from the weight of snow.

If you stay home will the kids leave you alone, or will they pester you?

Oh, they would have pestered me.

Sorry I dropped off the computer! Leslie and Mary vanished without telling anyone where they were going, so we had a panicked search of the neighborhood, and then Alan convinced me to go with him. It actually wasn't too bad. It was a pleasant evening, and I just sat and read my book. Not too shabby!

I thought you were going to drop him off and go to the bookstore and finish that book you started reading last week.

That was my plan, but then we found out the game was going to be played at an out of the way high school. The nearest book store was 45 minutes away from the game. Not much point of that! So, I just took one of the books I'm reading here from the house. Got a lot read, too!

My thoughts exactly. I have never heard of Palin :confused3

I've been working on the house most of the day. The curtain rods are up as well as the coat racks in the hall. The curtains are hung and I've changed out the tie backs from the matching print to a solid color. I like them better now. I still need to shorten all of the curtains, but I want to make sure that I am happy with them before I do so. I took pictures along the way. Hopefully I'll get them loaded in a few minutes. We're watching Shrek the third right now. We had these Red Box dvd distribution vending machines pop up. You can rent dvds for $1 per day. You can return them to any red box location. I think we will like the inexpensive cost and fairly close locations :thumbsup2

We love Red Box! There aren't any close to us, but Alan can pick up a DVD on his way home from work, and then return it on the way to work after we've watched it. We've loved the convenience!

I think I will have enough material left after shortening the curtains to recover our dining chairs. Do you think that would be too much of that one material?

Personally, I like the material, so I wouldn't mind it. I guess if it would bug Chris and the boys to sit on the flowers I wouldn't do it.

And now, since it looks like I'm the only one here, I'll say good night and head to bed.

Alan and I are picking up the paint tomorrow morning, and hope to get the boys room painted tomorrow! Once that's done, Alan will put together the crib and changing table, and I can really get down and done with the nursery! I found a darling crib sheet of Classic Pooh at Target that I bought, so I'm beginning to pull it together.

I probably won't be on much tomorrow. Of course, I'll have to take lots of breaks, so maybe you'll see me!

I was at a football game too...but the band moms ended up chatting...I had even brought a book!!:thumbsup2

I had emailed the band director and asked him if he wanted me to bring paper products for the lock in. Yes, please. Then in the 3rd period he came up and asked if some of us wanted to go get food for it. :rotfl: I asked Cassidy last night who was getting the snack food..guess it was me:rotfl: I think he finally realized what a deal he was getting with me....he gave me just over $200 for pop, chips and fruit for 75 or so kids. When I gave him a little less than half back he made sure I had gotten enough...silly boy!!:goodvibes 16 12-packs of pop and 20+ bags of chips, fruit and ice should be enough.

Welcome home Bernadette!!

We are on a hunt this weekend for a new bed for Cassidy....so far we haven't found anything. Our Brunswick is also having bowling parties for MDA...for $1 a piece we are going to bowl for 2 hours on Sunday!!:cool1:

I like the new curtains, Deb. I also prefer the matching tiebacks. Very nice upgrade to your living room! :)
