DDA Chapter 11

Plans for dinner were changed, Gary had to work overtime. He just called & is on his way home. So after he showers we will go somewhere, I am thinking Mexican with a nice margarita ::yes::

Does anyone else find it unseasonably warm this year??? I know I'm Heating for 2, but this is ridiculous! It got up to 100 degrees here today. I just felt like lounging on the couch all day! Ick!

Elizabeth - Sounds like your DS is off to a good start!

We had PE in college too, but it was more flexible. I took Line Dancing and Bob took golf. :teeth:

I had to take 4 semesters in college too. I took golf, ballet, archery and volleyball. Loved all 4 of them, but archery was the only one that I was not already doing. :rotfl2:

In college, i just had to take a health and wellness course--i was happy i didnt actually have to take a PE and have to do something haha

does anyone know what kind of ID I should take for Virginia? When we flew in 06 I did not have ID for Olivia but she was old enough she could tell them her name if she chose to. I checked the TSA sight but did not see anything on their.

Jennifer - Children under the age of 18, traveling with a parent, do not need an ID.

A margarita sounds good to me too! But I am not into making one for just myself. Maybe a black and tan again tonight. Theresa... mind your Ps and Qs.... :lmao:

Chanon - I did answer your email. I was already at work when you sent it, hopefully it is not too late!

Debbie I think you can relate to this thread :rolleyes1

I can definitely relate, and we had Mexican for dinner that night. :lmao:

Hey Deb,
I took the liberty of painting Colby's walls yellow, if you don't like it feel free to say so.

Marci - I guess our school can't be THAT bad because we followed a lot of private school families over there. The superintendent sends his kids to the high school (but he is a bonehead so that doesn't count). The high school ranked I think 537 in the nation in that Newsweek (or whoever it is that ranks them) thing for public high schools.

DS just called and his day was good!
He has all pre-AP classes except for Reading, which I am assuming has no pre-AP level OR they just couldn't get him in a pre-AP class with the rest of his schedule. He is in advanced band. He has 7 different teachers this year because his language arts and reading teachers are different people (last year it was the same lady). PE is 3rd period so that should be fairly disasterous. His friend from last year is in 6 of his classes, and the boy who hosted the pool party last week is in 4 of his classes. His ex-friend is in a few classes (he couldn't remember how many), but Thug isn't in any of the same classes so maybe ex-friend will behave. His other really good friend isn't in any of the same classes, but they have the same lunch. I hope it's going to be a good year!!

That was my point as well -- he's in a good school so it doesn't matter if the rest of DISD goes down the drain...:rotfl: Just kidding -- pre-AP classes are very impressive. It sounds like he will do well. Especially without Thug.

I'm glad he has good friends in his class. Andrew seemed to have a good day as well. It turns out that most of the boys do wear pants instead of shorts -- whew -- I'm so glad we guessed correctly. Andrew's first elective is PE, which he excels in, so that's good. He's not so great in art, but he thinks he is. ;)

Bowling, for me. And then 3 years of tap dance. Much nicer than typical PE.

Bowling for me, too, plus ballroom dance!

Janet -- I hope you had a nice dinner!

My kids never travel with ID.

No, we've had a very mild summer. Usually it is sweltering here in August but the humidity has been considerably lower.

I took bowling and folk/square dance. Can't remember what else.
