DDA Chapter 11

I wish, however you may send it over here if you like.
Everyone says we had a few hot days, but I don't remember them, so I am thinking they couldn't have been too hot.

Does anyone else find it unseasonably warm this year??? I know I'm Heating for 2, but this is ridiculous! It got up to 100 degrees here today. I just felt like lounging on the couch all day! Ick!

Ooh, now that I really like.

Good luck, Jen! I hope you have a good day, and hear some extra good news also! :goodvibes:

Good Morning DDA!

Leighanna doesn't like riding the bus, (big surprise;) ), so I guess I will be dropping her off and picking her up now.

She didn't get off the bus at home yesterday until almost 4. She gets out of school at 3. I think an hour on a bus is a bit too much for a first grader.

Have a great day all! Off to school I go!

Good morning, DDA! Just a quick catch up before I'm off to another morning. Have a good one!

That was my point as well -- he's in a good school so it doesn't matter if the rest of DISD goes down the drain...:rotfl: Just kidding -- pre-AP classes are very impressive. It sounds like he will do well. Especially without Thug.

I'm glad he has good friends in his class. Andrew seemed to have a good day as well. It turns out that most of the boys do wear pants instead of shorts -- whew -- I'm so glad we guessed correctly. Andrew's first elective is PE, which he excels in, so that's good. He's not so great in art, but he thinks he is. ;)

So we're off to Day 2!
I hope Andrew settles into the middle school routine without any trouble! :wizard:
I guess DS liked wearing shorts because he is wearing shorts today, too. I hope some of the teachers send home some info today. He didn't get much yesterday. The reading teacher sent a supply list. I have a news flash for her. I am not sending anything other than Kleenex and paper towels to school. DS will have all of the supplies he needs FOR HIMSELF. He will bring them to class each day. He will not show up Sept. 2 with 10 pens, 10 pencils, and 2 packs of notebook paper.

Aw love the picture! hope you feel better

Robyn, Emma looks so cute!! I hope you are feeling better today! :wizard:

Im headed to bed too--I have orientation from 8-3 tomorrow...if i find out I got the job sometime during the day, ill post as soon as i get home! Goodnight everyone

Good luck today, Jen!

well darn about the Job. Continued good thoughts.

Thanks for the input about the birth Certificate. I think I might just go ahead and get a copy of it just in case. On another thread someone said they are very strict about BC on SW.

Tia - Remember the things that irritated you and see if you can turn them into questions for your next interview. Even if you can't work them into the contract you might be able to get a feel for how likely the next family is to do the same things.

Jennifer - Can't hurt to have a copy of the birth certificate.

Thanks Vicki.

Truth be told never thought about her feeling needed. She raised us to be very independent and to not need someone.
Of course I have heard her say more then once she thinks she raised us to be to independent. :confused3

My cousin and I have decided our moms much prefer our worthless sisters because our sisters still require hands-on parenting. Moms like to be useful.

Princess and I have no plans for today. She is in a lull where she doesn't have any activities this week. I guess we'll just see what we feel like doing!

I wouldn't want to be on the bus for an hour after school, either! I hope the rest of first grade is going well so far!

Have a good day! PM if you want my input on anything! ;)

I agree. That's why we will be bringing our kids to school this year. An hour bus ride is ridiculous. This morning as we were driving the boys to school we saw kids waiting for the bus...the bus that had been by 45 minutes earlier :headache: The bus used to travel the same road in both directions, picking up kids on one side then picking up the other side on the way back. Since they changed the route and didn't send out a letter I'm sure those kids had no idea that they would now have to catch the bus 50 minutes earlier and ride it 20 miles to go the couple of miles to school :sad2: Of course the school didn't update the website with the new routes, nor did they put them in the paper

So we're off to Day 2!

Agree with the idea that some Mom's prefer the helpless (worthless) children. Chris' mother is a prime example. We are very self sufficient and don't need her for things like money, shelter, food, etc. His sister and her children and grandchildren can't keep a job or a place to live, get knocked up just for the welfare checks, but she loves to give give give to them. She also choses boyfriends that are alcoholics or other abusers as she can be their enabler. She must be an enabler to have self worth, but then complains constantly about them :sad2: I can see it, but I can't understand it.

The boys are off to school. Nick has one good friend in his advisory so that is good. Of course he didn't need me to walk him to class. Hunter let me walk him, but left me at the classroom door. Colby was ready to get rid of us at the school's front door, but we insisted that we walk him to class. Actually Chris walked him and I walked Hunter, but I went to the classroom a bit later. He was already settled in and doing puzzles. He let me snap a picture then was gone again. Oddly there was no tears for him or us so I guess that's good.

Here's a few pictures

Now for pictures of Colby's room today. I like it much better now. I think a couple of pictures on the wall and a rug will complete it for now.

I love how the blue ribbon helped to unify the look. It ties in well with the comforter and bureau and makes the curtains blend better with the walls. In my opinion of course ;)

Robyn cute picture of Emma, hope you are feeling better :wizard:

Heidi thanks for sharing the link, brought a tear to my eye :goodvibes
