:wave2: Hi, Vicki! Seems like forever since I have seen you on here!

I have figured out what I want to be when I grow up. I want to be either an architect or a travel agent who plans WDW trips!

It has been some time. In the last 3 or 4 weeks, I have only had time to stop by for an hour or two every 4 or 5 days.

I don't have time to figure out what I want to be. Plus, I am the one that needs to have insurance coverage so that Chuck can run his own business. In the U.P., that means my options are very limited. My job is fine for now.

I haven't had time to really start training for the half marathon. That is what I need to be doing for myself. I have been focusing too much on work.

Remember, no matter what else is going on in your life, that YOU are the most important thing! Without you healthy, the other things are totally unimportant. Tale care of yourself, please. :goodvibes

Its so nice to see people chatting tonight---with frankie here, i havent been able to get on and i missed cmoing here!

I am quite excited. Although there are no better discounts than the AAA one we have for the Polynesian when Bob and I go there next month, I was able to snag an AP discount for AKL CL for our dates in December! CRO was crazy busy this morning, but after 45 minutes on hold I had a great CM who help ed me save almost $400.

hope you are having fun!

Im being lazy tonight and I love it..we had a graet time with him and im so sad that he is gone, but its nice to kick back and relax tonight.
It was perfect timing he was here though becuase he kept my mind off everything that was happening..and now ican come back to the dda ;)

Congrats on saving money!!!

Congrats on saving money!!!

I haven't looked into it too closely yet, due to lack of time, but I think we came close to paying for our Dining part of the package. Although the last few nights are not discounted, the first two nights had a substantial discount! It has been forever since we have had a decent discount at Christmas!

That is a great savings...I wouldnt have thought discounts during Christmas, but thats great--i bet you guys were thrilled!

bingo thanks Tia. I kept thinking it had a B in it. No wonder I could not find it.

I was doing that too! Must have been the biz part throwing us both.

I had the root canal done and my mouth really hurts. Hal did make the best Eggplant Lasagne ever. I tried to eat, but after a few bites, I had to stop. Thank goodness for Gin and Tonics!!!! :lmao:

I even called Stephanie and whined a bit!!! :lmao:

Ouchie! I hope that you are doing good today, Terry.

So I guess I am going. I gotta finish shoving stuff in bags. If I do not have it I will have to do without. My Mom and Dad are still at the hospital waiting for test results. We could not twist my Mom's arm enough to get her to go. I know she is going to worry about me in my gimpy state. Afterall I am still on crutches and am taking a wheelchair.

I gotta find stuff that was packed in my parents luggage that we need. Let's just say today has been crazy.

I gotta go. I hope you all have great weeks. I should be able to post from the hotel.

Ai Yi Yi. What a stressful last few hours for you all. I'm so glad that you and your brother are going. I know that you'll have an absolutely wonderful time. Loads of prayers and :wizard: for your dad. :grouphug:

so out of the scores of resumes I've sent out...I've had a handful of interviews and just received my 2nd thanks, but no thanks. This time I think it was I was going to be to expensive for them.

on top of all that I've had run-ins with 2 people I work with now and Jim called me twice in less than 5 minutes with asinine questions. The second time I told him to put on his big boy pants and figure it out and he continued on so I told him I've had a crappy day (before the thanks but, no thanks) and he wasn't helping and hung up on him.

I spent my lunch hour trying not to cry and I come in to find the rejection e-mail. I just want to go home and hide under the covers. :guilty:

I'm so sorry. I've had similar days lately and know just where you are coming from. :grouphug:

Im finally back from the doctors! He said it is pretty swollen but nothing appears tobe broken...he felt my face and said he could see some of the bones on the CT scan from the ER. He said that a combination from the fall and the surgery is making it so that i am swollen, cant eat, and cant open my mouth..so i have to go back in 3 weeks!

Next news..i got mail that i was offered a long term substitute position!! I have to call tomorrow to find out the details but all i know is that it is from Oct 20-March 6!

I'm so glad it doesn't look broken. The assignment sounds great! You'll be there the majority of the year and get some good exposure to the school. Good luck!

Deb, I did not become a lifeguard/water safety instructor until I was 40. It is never too late. It definitely sounds like it is the type of thing you should be pursuing. Pursuing it doesn't tie you to it if it doesn't work out to be enough money or flexible enough or ...

I figure when I'm 60 or 70, I may figure out what I want to be when I grow up.

What she said, Deb! Vicki, you nailed it I think.

The camping week-end & picnic were fantastic. Lots of good food, great people, and laughs. I did a lot of cooking but it was actually very relaxing for me. Everyone had a great time (at least they said they did over & over & over).

Glad that it went so well. Sounds like a load of fun for all!!

Hi all! Just a quick catch up and hello. My dad is still working on recovering the desktop so I plugged my laptop in for Rachel tonight. It's just too slow to get some things done. I really need to erase it and start from scratch. The backup has been done, I just haven't reset it to factory settings.

Things are about the same here. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to explore new jobs yet, but will do so this weekend for sure. My goal is to be ready to start somewhere new when we return from our trip. I'm sure it will be a tough goal to make, but it's what I need to focus on for my own sanity I think.

Wowzers! How about those races tonight! I tried to watch men's all around last night and it about killed me. There's no way I can even attempt the women's tonight. Guess I'll head to bed before they start tempting me.

Hope that everyone is doing well! :wizard: and :grouphug: all around!

So I am on the verge of a breakdown. We might not be going. My Dad is feeling worse and does not think he wants to go at all. My Mom refuses to go if my Dad does not go. My Dad is telling us to go without him. My Dad says knowing all of us will stay home makes him feel worse. They keep going back and forth. Who knows what will happen.

Just keep my whole family in your prayers. Especially that my Dad feels better. I really want to go on the trip. But perhaps it is just not meant to be.

I still have to pack. So I guess I am off to shower and pack and prepare for the trip I may or may not be going on.

I hope you all have a great day.

Wow, This is not what you needed today. I hope that you can make your decision, whatever is best for you and your family.

:wizard:  Those rejection letters are exactly why I hesitate to search out a new career. I've been out of college and out of the mainstream workforce for so long now the application process is so intimidating

Here's our place cards! (Or at least the start of them! Once we figure out the seating chart, I'll add "table X" to each one...)
Red is beef....beige is chicken... :teeth:

Those are so cute :thumbsup2

I'm not sure I'll ever know what I want to be when I grow up :confused3 We are so alike.

I'm glad that everything worked out for you :goodvibes I hope you can make time for yourself soon.

I am watching them now. I did not watch the all around last night did we manage to get a medal?
ETA never mind I found it nope.

yeah for saving money that just means more wine.

So I decided to take the first step in the job hunt. I found a number for the new aquatic center. They have hired a director for the facility, but there will be more management postions opening up. It is going to be quite the facility with a competition pool, recreation pool, waterslide, lazy river and fitness center. I am so excited to have the facility so close to home and we will definitely have a family membership whether I work there or not. I was given the phone number for the director and talked to him briefly. He wants me to email him my resume, but was concerned that I am not certified at anything :rotfl: The pool will not be opening until January so I do have time to get some of the needed certifications. I need to work on my resume as I haven't needed one in 7 years. I also called various places to find out about upcoming classes that I would need. I think that I will take the courses no matter what as they could be useful in the future in ways that I haven't even began to think of. So who can I list as a personal reference on my resume? Any takers :rotfl2:

Here is a link to the Aquatic Center

Tomorrow ends my 2 weeks of chaos. The swimming lessons will be done so I will have my mornings back to accomplish things here. Of course we have lots of things to do next week, but I won't be gone from 9 - 1 each day. I am also working 5 nights a week now so that has contributed to the chaos. I suspect that my work schedule will continue to be busy until after foliage here as several of our waitstaff have gone back to college or started "real" jobs during the week.

Chanon,
did you hear anything about the rumors that the resort photoshoots are increasing in price?
