DDA Chapter 10

I hope I said thank you to everyone..I had a huge post & the dis ate it...started again & half the quotes were missing...:confused3

I finally heard from my girlfriend, the one who left her DD's party early. Come to find out Dana was having chest pains and went to the hospital where they admitted her for the night. They ruled out a heart attack, which I am very thankful for as I've already had one friend in her 30's who had one. Apparently her heart is racing uncontrollably and they can't determine the cause. She is on blood pressure medicine and they have switched that so hopefully that will do the trick.

Would you mind sending her some pixie dust her way?

Oh, my! Good thoughts for her!! :wizard:

Marci - DH is working a route in Crandall? The warehouse is in Lancaster. This is a route with like 20 convenience stores where he did 10 or so yesterday and the remaining ones today. Which means he is on his own finding the locations today! :scared: No telling what time we'll see him tonight!

Anne Marie - Your trip sounds so close, but that means the END of my trip is close, too! :guilty:

It's my day off. We have speech this morning then we'll head to the pool for a few hours. I have things to do around here, but I lack motivation. I do need to hit the stores tonight though. We are running out of things.

We are also thinking of changing our cellular phone company. Our contract is up so we can shop freely now. We are actually thinking of getting a better plan and giving up our land line. I can't think of any reason why we couldn't just use cell phones as long as they work well in our house. :confused3 We frequently have static on our house phone anyway and we've had them come several times to fix it, but it always seems to come back :confused3 Does anyone have a reason why we NEED to have a land line? I know you guys will play the devils advocate for me. I "think" that we can keep our home number on one of the cell phones

I can think of only one reason... And this is only what I have read, cannot definitively confirm. 911 calls are linked to your home phone. They cannot triangulate a cell phone because of satellite use. It is why we have our land line still.

Thank you!

Thanks! It's me Anne Marie!!! Dana doesn't even know Theresa...Theresa is there something you need to tell me?:lmao: :rotfl: Thanks Terry!

Since it's my birthday I got to rip off the mickey head on our countdown...17 more days til Disney!

lol....Terry must have had me on the brain!!

Yeah for so close to Disney!!:cool1:

Deb - 3 reasons we still have a land line:
The burglar alarm is routed though it, we want it for 911 access, and we need it to "buzz" visitors in the entry gate. We had them switch the gate to ring on my cell phone, but when I would push "9" to open the gate it didn't work.
We just have a plain land line with caller ID. We bought a phone with a digital answering machine so we cancelled voice mail. We also got rid of our long distance on the land line because we use the cell phones for that.

That is the only thing I thought of as well

I switched my land line to Vonage Deb...which my be a cheap alternative for you...it has 911 access etc....

however...I have toyed with the idea of getting rid of that and just doing cells...I programmed the police station number in all of our cell phones under speed dial 1...so it is very easy..I even called and tested it....I would think that most local police stations still have a local emergency number...

but I would agree if you have a burglar alarm or have to buzz someone it...it would be an issue

didn't someone recently say that 40 is the new 30 Anne Marie?? I am still trying to buy into that one :rotfl2:

I'm leary about doing this, mostly just afraid of the 'what ifs'. Like if your electricity is out for an extended period of time (I know, rarely happens, but....) and you can't charge your phone. But then if you have a car kit you could go drive around and let it charge. Or what if a cell tower goes out and you have an emergency. Or what if the satellite falls out of the sky. Like I said, I 'what if' things to death. Bob has a land line, but he canceled his long distance.

Yes, another good point.

Absoultely!

I hope she is feeling better. PD sent! And don't say you are boring us with cake pictures -- I love seeing your original creations!

Not at all! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: How very scary. I'm glad she didn't ignore the pain and went to get herself checked out!

Absolutely! I hope it was just the old medication, and that it's an easy fix!

Holy cannoli!! :scared1:

She's got the pixie dust coming!!

Thanks everyone!! You all are great. :goodvibes
