DDA Chapter 10

I am knocking on wood as I type this....but it appears my UAL travel woes have been resolved. Final cost round trip for Bill & I in September is $378.

50 phone calls later, the $200 credit for overcharging me has shown up on my CC statement...I am soooooo happy that I do not have to call back!!!!

Tough call, but I'd probably go with A. I have several teeth that need to be dealt with, but I've been putting it off the same as you. The last dentist made me cry so I've refused to go back to any dentist. Brilliant, eh?

that was me too.

I am actually leaning toward c (there were other options they were unreasonable in the amount of time and money and possibility of still needing more work). With c there is less time in the chair and he said I can always get a bridge at a later date...he wasn't even sure he could save the one tooth with the root canal.

Like I've said I've gotten until Wednesday to change my mind 16 million times.

I'm sorry to hear this!

I would suggest A. I had a bridge done and have another scheduled (at 24 years old... ridiculous :sad2: ). I agree with Kristine, that the more teeth you can keep the better. Also, the various teeth I've had pulled have caused more problems (with dry socket after, etc) than any root canal or bridgework!

I've had a ton of teeth pulled and have never dealt with a dry socket...ICKY!!!
As I told the dentist this morning....I've never had a full mouth of teeth. I also told him I was odd...he went over everything I was allergic to and he got TMI....(he's the one who asked how we figured out I was allergic to latex:rotfl: )

my luck keeps running...to bad it's bad.

I have 3 choices:

a.) keep the tooth with a root canal, pull 3 other (that really need to come out) and do bridges
b.)do nothing
c) pull the tooth and the 3 others and partially denture my mouth.

a & c will cost me, even with insurance, $1200 to $5000. I've got until Wednesday to decide.

Oh and I've got a raging infection in my mouth that I had no clue I had!! So on antibiotics I go!!

NONE of those sound like fun! Good luck! :wizard:

I am glad it looks like it it finally taken care of! :thumbsup2

Jennifer - Hope Elise gets over her cold soon!

Well, sending e-mails to IPO posing as DH has come back to bite me in the butt. A lady called to tell DH they can't get the cake like Kristine's any smaller than 10". I sort of expected that, because a lot of people said that on the cake thread. Well, DH got all flustered, and she told him to call Boardwalk and sort it out with them! :headache: So he got mad at ME! I told him to call AKL IPO back and tell them a larger cake is fine. Well, we couldn't ever get a human so we gave up. He didn't want to leave a message because he didn't want them to call when he is working. DH called back the number the lady called from and got somebody at the Contemporary? She transferred him to Boardwalk, they bounced him from bakery to private dining and back again, and he finally spoke to a lady who SAID she will get the cake done. But it will be 10" so we will be working on it all week. The good news is that it is only supposed to cost $45. I will be utterly SHOCKED if we actually end up with a cake.

why can't you get the smaller one like I had? You need to call that bakery person I mentioned to you

I can't remember her name. Was it chef Kelly? Really, for $45 I don't care if it is a huge cake. We'll take it back to the room, wrap it, stick it in the fridge, and have cake for breakfast & snacks. If we throw half of it out it's not a big deal. If we get NO cake I'll pick another night and try again!

The Uncles got a cake for me 2 years ago. Had it delievered to our room at AKL at 6 AM on my actual birthday. It was small - 6 inches I guess. It sat in the fridge all week because we had DDP and we were never hungry! I ate a slice on the last day because I couldn't bear to throw out an entire cake. It was goooood. :yay:

Popping in to say :wave2: real fast and then I'm heading to bed!

Today, we spent an utterly exhausting day at Kings Island and the adjoining waterpark, Boomerang Bay. Of course, since I'm not allowed to swim yet, and I'm Noah's only source of nutritrion, I did a lot of sitting around, people-watching. I really should have brought a book. :rotfl:

I didn't realize so many of us have anniversaries all in the same week! :goodvibes July 24th marked 9 years for us.

Glynis, congratulations!!! :cloud9: Please take care of yourself, too!

Robyn, your Rocket cake is awesome! Want to make a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake for Matty's big party? ;)

Theresa, sending you lots of  I'm sorry about your dental woes, too.

Jen, lots of :wizard: that you're offered the perfect job between these two interviews!

Other Jen :teeth: I hope Elise is feeling better and time with :headache: (you know, your MIL ;) ) is minimal this weekend.

Great pictures, Elin!

I'm sorry...my brain is fried. I thought we had perfected a great nighttime routine for Noah, but after two weeks, he decided he has this intense desire to suck and now he's waking up every 2-3 hours. He has no patience for his own fingers or fists, and he's rejected six brands of pacifiers, so that pretty much leaves me (he likes the obvious and my thumb). I'm one sleepy Mama!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend! Take care, DDA! :grouphug:

Happy belated anniversary, Amy and Kevin!

Poor Mama... I remember being so excited when my girls found their thumbs and loved them!

Wow, slow night in DDA land.

My kids are home and they spent hours talking and telling me about their trip. They had a good time overall, but Nicholas did say that they have a better time when they go with me. He probably just said it because he knows it's what I want to hear. They didn't ride Toy Story Mania because the first day they didn't go to it until after dinner and the stand by line was too long and they were going to Fantasmic, and the second day they again didn't go until late in the day and the FPs were gone. DUH! It's a new attraction for crying out loud. What did he expect. Oh and Nicholas mentioned that it cost his dad $90 for the week for parking expenses. I guess I could have told him that with the kids' APs he could have parked for free.

ooops!! I bet it just slipped your mind.

Glad the kids are home and had fun (and I bet Nicholas isn't just saying it because that's what you want to hear):goodvibes

Hi Theresa. Have you come to any decision regarding your tooth? It all sounds horrible, no matter which you go with. But in the long run, I bet you will be happy.

We went to a very lame carnival at a Chick-Fil-A for customer appreciation. Since we were over there anyway;) we checked another JcPenney out. Better selection!! Got a jacket and shell for myself for $2. :cool1: Also got a few other things.....getting undergarments for your youngest is a whole lot more heartwrenching than it was for the first. :sad2:

We will have to return one of the t-shirts from last night....it doesn't fit Abi right:headache: See, Elizabeth I told you DS and Abi were alike!!:rotfl:

I am still leaning toward partial dentures....but I will talk to the dentist a bit more on Wednesday at my next appt.

I read the warning on my antibiotic:scared1: that is some scary stuff I've got coursing through my body. Both the infection and the stuff to get rid of it.
