Thanks Elin, might look into getting one once they are a bit easier to find.

John said its still impossible to find just the Wiis.

I have seen lots of Wiis in my quest for a Wii fit. I am still looking for the Wii fit. I have also seen tons of Guitar Heroes.

I have to tell you that we definitely noticed a shift at WDW this trip. English speaking people were clearly the minority. There were huge tour groups from Brazil, Argentina and even Mexico. I was also suprised that so many of the family units were not speaking english. I'm not even sure which language was most prevailent since I don't understand any of it, except for a little french and that wasn't it :confused3

I think we are going to be seeing more and more foreign tourists as the exchange rate of other countries is very favorable to come to the United States. Plus people from the US are not traveling as much.

So here's a question from a small town girl. Around here the only language spoken is English. You rarely here another language, but if you do it is usually French or more likely Canadian French. All of our signs, etc are in English, no other translations. Is this only a Northeast thing?

Depending where I am in my daily travels I do see signs in Spanish and even some in Asian characters. I live near an area that has a quickly expanding Hispanic population.

I hear Spanish, PA Dutch, Vietnamese, Korean, French the most in addition to English. Since I am all over it varies greatly depending what area I am in.

Tammi - My best thoughts are headed your way. Was this your baseline mammo? Or do they have something to go on for this evaluation? I hope it is nothing. Mine always was "cystic" breasts.

I adore that first pose. Still, and as cute as I think Avery is, this shot just didn't quite have the same peaceful thing going :rolleyes1

Jennifer- Great pictures of those cute girls.:goodvibes :lovestruc

Paula- Hope everything works out with you superstar(s).:thumbsup2

Kristine- Hope you airline issues are totally resolved.

Tammi- :wizard: :wizard: that it is nothing.

Glynis- Hi, hope you are doing well!

When you adopt a new country, you should adopt the language. I don't want them to lose their language or their customs. As a matter of fact, I love learning about those from others. However, the United States is an English speaking country and needs to remain so. I feel that without a common language, we weaken our country.

::yes:: And Bob's parents still speak Czech, Slav and Polish. But they also speak fine English. The addition of all those traditions and customs is what makes this country what it is. But a unified language is vital. I agree with you 100% there, Vicki!

You have not overstepped your bounds. Hopefully, we are all past that by now. We all realize that we may have different opinions and that is ok. We only learn when we are willing to hear others sides (or the same as this is for me).

And you know what? That is why we are on Chapter 10. All of us... we are all still here!

My parents bought a Wii today! Now I know what to get them for Christmas. Too bad they didn't get this 2 days ago. Bday shopping for my dad would have been easier!

What did you end up getting him?

because we are in a migrant state a LOT of the other language spoken is spanish. Though one of the elementary schools had, a few years back, 80 languages spoken by the families. Abi's middle school has about 12 different languages and the kids are working on english as their second language. The parents are the hard ones.

We have a lot of Sudanese fleeing from the war and many other african countries. We seem to be the melting pot state. If there is a second language on a sign it is more than likely spanish.

If I could have some prayers/pd/good thoughts/or whatever you've got. I got a call today from the imaging center that did my mammo. I have to go back Wed. AM for a diagnostic mammo with and ultrasound, as they found an area that they are concerned about. I really don't have time for any issues. :sad2:

absolutely....but I have heard more often than not, espescially with the first mammo there are false positive dark areas.

her dream was funnier!!:thumbsup2

love all of the pics!!

I hit walmart today. Notebooks for 5 cents!!! I bought 80 notebooks! I've got to go to Staples tomorrow and see what I can find, not to mention the others. It's really frustrating, though, since we don't know who our kids teacher's are, so we don't know what school supplies we need. So, I'm trying to just stock up on the basics; notebooks, pencils, crayons, markers, etc.

I am taking a different approach this year. I am NOT going to go out and buy a bunch of stuff. We have 2 bags FULL of stuff that we never used last year that was "required". I also sent the bags of supplies back to school with DS and every bit of it disappeared, never to be seen again. I am not sending ANY supplies unless I am POSITIVE DS needs it, I am not sending duplicates of anything, and I am going to buy far less that I have in past years. Since DS likes to carry every last bit of his stuff around with him in that blasted backpack I am not going to allow any extra junk.

My kids start on August 18! That is so early! However, we have a full week off for Spring Break, and we are out for a long time at Christmas, too. Our last day of school is May 29th.

We go back August 25. We have a week for Spring Break but not that long at Christmas. We also have the whole week of Thanksgiving off. Last day is June 3.

Ours go back the 22nd and get out the 22nd of May, I think....guess I better figure that one out!!:rotfl2:

If I think about it I will check out the sales this week...I just didn't want to get too much without Cassidy here to give me the yuck or yup.

Tammi, good thoughts for you. :wizard:

Thanks everyone. Yes, this was my baseline. I just went through this back in the late winter when a spot showed up on my yearly chest x-ray. I ended up going to a pulmonary specialist, having a CT scan, and it was nothing. So here we go again, with hopefully the same results.

What did you end up getting him?
Movie gift certificates. Thanks for the idea! I just couldn't justify sending another shirt or something else useless just because I'm obligated to buy something for him.

Beth's family is so cute....but they are tired from their trip. Hopefully with a few days in the same place they will all be better. We enjoyed our time with their family...on the way home we went to our new favorite restaurant, Cheeburger Cheeburger and stopped to get bee/wasp insecticide(we tried the "organic" stuff and they decided it made a great nest:rotfl2: ) and then went and picked out a bowling ball for me using my birthday gift certificate. As soon as he saw my hand he said...."no kidding you had a hard time finding a house ball":rotfl: Not only am I a left hander but I also have preschoolers shaped fingers:lmao:

I like to stock up on the notebooks, not really for school, but because my kids like to "write stories." They could fill a book a week at times. At 5 cents, I like to encourage that! I like to get the crayons cheaply, because they love to color.

I will send in only what is asked for, and then I usually get the teacher a gift card so she can get tissues, paper towels or whatever she needs. We live in a community that's pretty affluent (unfortunately), so I don't worry about sending in extras. I do like to have some on hand for when my kids run out.

I think I'm a little like Meg Ryan's character in "You've Got Mail" when she says she loves the smell of number 2 pencils in the Fall! That's me exactly!

Hooray for having your own ball!!! I need to have my holes re-drilled since I lost all the weight.

Did you get a nice one?
