DDA Chapter 10

I am glad you were able to get a place to stay Elin. It is just a shame you are having to spend more money due to an airline's poor handling from their end.

Thanks, Terry. In the long run we will probably come out about even. I canceled our Park 'n' Fly for Friday night and we will park in the economy parking area, paying $7 a day or less than $40. Our room at All Star Sports is about $93 so that comes to $133. Our Park 'n' Fly was a tad over $145, so not so bad in the long run. I guess the only better thing would have been if we could have gotten that additional night at the Poly for $93. ;)

Still have not found the masks. I hope they are not galavanting with Elin's Xmas tree. I gotta get packing, but that is waiting until tomorrow. Stuff is being gathered.

I hope all of you are doing well.

I hope so too, Becky! You will never find them!! Keep packing; they might turn up in the last place you look. ;)

The Mole is who I suspected for several weeks. That is all.;) :upsidedow

And, being the primetime TV maven that I am NOT, you were appropriately obtuse and I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about! :rotfl:

I'm around and reading along, but haven't posted much because life is in the way. The girls seem to be feeling significantly better, so hopefully we're getting over all this crap. We have a huge financial issue we just found out about, which has me in a terrible funk. I literally had a mild anxiety attack a few days ago, which is a first for me. Please say a quick prayer if you can, for .... I don't know, faith I guess. Kyle is starting to prepare for his final licensing exam, too, and really needs to be ready for it. Fortunately for him (but not for our family!) he has until the end of September to take it. At that point, assuming all goes well, he can moonlight on his slow months and we'll be ok, but it's happening much later than we anticipated -- and the unexpected issues we didn't plan for have things completely out of control. :guilty:

Ah, those unplanned-for financial surprises. You will get through it, but it is nerve-racking.

I just got home from an hour interview....it went very well I think!!

Fingers crossed!

Jen -- I hope you are feeling better!

Robyn -- I hope Mo is still doing great.

Jen -- hope the twins are still feeling better.

We ended up getting a little rain yesterday -- not enough to make a big difference as it's all dried up -- no puddles, but every little bit counts. And my phone was fixed around 6:30. Now to deal with Orkin, the plumber (still have a running toilet but the upstairs bathtub fixtures now work) and my ice machine.

I better get back to work before leaving for my MRI. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning! Too cold for the beach or the pool today!

Hmmm what I am going to do with the kiddies today???

Good Morning, DDA!!

We are finally out of the record breaking heat and by the first parade this Saturday we should be only in the 70's:cool1: .

Jen-I am glad to hear the girls are feeling better, I am sorry for the un-planned financial "stuff". You are in my prayers...I will be praying specifically for calm in the money storm.

Jennifer- :wizard: for your finances. I am glad to hear the girls are getting a bit better.

Marci- I'm sorry you all didn't get much relief from the rain.

Theresa- Keeping my fingers crossed!!

Elin- :yay: for an extra night at Disney.

Becky- I hope your masks turn up. I also thought he was the Mole too. The clues they provide are insanely crazy. I wouldn't have gotten any of them.

Jen- Sounds like a fun night.

I just got off the phone with my girlfriend, she is an assistant at Mo's preschool. She wanted to know if I had my 4 year degree, which I don't, as they are looking for a new teacher. Anyway, I asked if they are looking for any assistants. She wasn't sure so she called the director and the director said she'll be calling me sometime today or tomorrow. It may not be much but it may be a start. I'd just have to work something out with my aunt to watch Lucy and Mo for the few hours.

Tomorrow night I am going to an inventory company that is hiring for an interview. When I worked in retail we used the company all the time for our inventories so I am a bit familiar with the job. They have a weekday or weekend schedule option of either 6pm or 9:30pm til about 2:30am (the shift ends when the inventory ends).

I think a combo of these would give me what I need to stop watching the boys. So if you've a bit of good thoughts to spare I'd appreciate them. :goodvibes

I wish you all the luck in the world, but I hope I misunderstand the hours! Pre-school aide during the day at inventory at night? When would you sleep??

The aide would only be 2 or 3 days a week and only half a day so about 4 hours each day. The inventory thing has weeknights or weekend openings so I would prefer the weekend. I'll know more tomorrow evening for sure.

Hello all

I was another cool morning here. The kids got their swimming in with no rain and only a few shivers :goodvibes My mother invited us to her work for lunch as a local pizza place delivered 5 pizzas to "try out" for the school year. This is a different place then they have used in the past, but the pizza was good. The deciding factor will be the cost between the two pizza places.

The kids are now loading the trailer with wood for the Men to pile tonight. I have so many projects that need to be started, but I think in the end I will be cleaning the house. It's a bit messy and Nick's friend is coming to pick him up for a play date.

I wish you the best. I so understand the trying to balance the need for money with the need to be home for the kids. That is a balancing act that I do daily. It can be so frustrating trying to find the right mix.
