DD7 has always been a lightweight. When she hit 39 pounds several months ago, I jokingly said that we'd need to celebrate when she hit 40 pounds. Well, then she got sick and dropped to 37 pounds. Today, we weighed and she is 41 pounds! Yippee!

I think a hot fudge sundae is in order. How would you celebrate?

I know! Take her to Beaches N Cream and get her "the kitchen sink!"

I have a lightweight, too, so I know what you mean.!:D

I was so happy when my 4 year old hit 30 pounds...she got sick and was back into the 20's last month! She is really small for her age plus she has a late birthday so on top of being small she is one of the youngest in her class so they all are much bigger than she is. WHen the class walks down the hall I can't even see my daughter because she is down below them all!

Great! Our DD always picked our Japanese steak house for her celebrations. She loves the "show"!

I understand the weight thing. Our 10 1/2 year old son is still only 58 pounds. DD has finally started picking up weight (probably because she's getting taller!) She's nearly 12 and weighs about 80 pounds now at 5 feet 1 inch.

Oh I hear you on this one! My son is eight years old and just hit 40 pounds. He eats when he's hungry but I still worry about him. It's hard not to compare - his brother who is 12 is the total opposite of the scale - big and SOLID. I guess as long as he meets his milestones I need not worry to much ...

They always laugh at the doctors office when I whoop and holler over DS10's weight! "What???? You gained three pounds? Yippee!!" He just laughs and says "Oh mom...."
We make a very big deal over weight gain, so I fully understand.
His last visit he actually topped the 60 pound mark! I almost fainted!
And I think maybe a double scoop fudge sundae with whipped cream and cherries on top is in order for your daughter.

Thanks everyone! I knew there would be folks on the DIS that would understand. :D

Congrats to your DD. As another lightweight, I know how hard it is to put on weight and keep it on. I love your tag. My DH loves banana and mayo sandwiches. Sometimes, he puts fritos on his.

I kid my daughter and tell her that she may be in a car seat until she is 18 LOL...since they stay in car seats until they are 100 pounds she may never get out of one!
