DD6 woke up this morning, with an upset stomach......next thing I know she's in the bathroom, yelling that her belly hurts...I run in, she's on the toilet, with explosive diahrea, and at the same time is throwing up in the trash can......She wasn't technically throwing up, however she was dry heaving.

She sat in there for 45 minutes, must have flushed the toilet 35 times, and ran through a full roll of toilet paper.

I took her temp- 98.6 no temp YEAH..asked about her head...no headache YEAH....asked bout her body- sore? hurt? tired? NADA...just an upset belly...I'm thinking something she must have eaten isn't agreeing with her.

I know she's sick when she tells me "I know my holiday party is today at school, but my belly REALLY hurts...I want to stay home"....

I've never been excited when she's sick, but I can't help but be happy it's not showing any signs of the flu!

There is a stomach bug going around, both DS 6 and DD 9 have been off school 2 days this week because of it. I also had it yesterday. Its not fun and the stomach cramps are hideous-however no temp or aches and pains. DS went to school today feeling fine.

We've had the same thing at our house. 2 of my kids and myself. It took me nearly a week to be able to eat normally again. The virus itself didn't last long and my kids bounced back quickly, but it took me a little longer to recover. Just one of the many illnesses going on right now. My dd's friend just got over the flu, my ds's friend has pneumonia, we had the stomach virus. I find myself holding my breath when anyone comes near me in the stores!!:o

Had to run out and get pedialyte, because DD did not like the orange kind I had on hand
We made it to the store, 1/2 mile...she felt sick, dry heaved in the parking lot...went in grabbed it, along with some ice pops for her...we're in line..she's gotta do it again...we run outside..same story.

We've been home now for 1/2 hour, she's still sitting on the toilet..not doing anything..she's sipping on the grape pedialyte, and reading a nickelodeon magazine I let her get...

She's still not complaining of anything but an upset belly, temp still down...oh I've NEVER been so happy for her to have just a "bug"!!!

I've emailed the principal to have DD7 bring home anything for DD6, as she wont be in school tomorrow either...nothing better than days home

I found the best thing for us was to not try to eat or drink anything at all for several hours and just let our stomachs settle down. If she is still heaving, she probably won't be able to keep the pedialyte down.:(

I'll join in on this party! ;)

Got a second grader home today (he threw up in school this morning). The fifth grader had it on Monday. No fever, no diarrhea.

Hopefully Hunter's will only be the 24 variety like his brother's.

Barb, watch out for delayed diarrhea! It hit my dd and I more than a day after we stopped vomiting!:o

Say it ain't so!!!! ;)

I'm just hoping that "mom" doesn't get it just in time for Christmas.

Your DD is probably feeling better now but I wondering if she had food poisoning. Many times people think that they have the flu when in fact they have food poisoning. Esp. since she doesn't have a fever and was so violently ill.

Hope she feels better.

DD is home with DH today....she's still a it ashen looking, and I figured no reason to send her to school.

She's showing no other signs of illness....ate light supper last night, and had breakfast this morning...must have been a 24 hour BUG..

:( My DS5 had it last week. Poor thing vomited from 9am to 3pm every half hour. DD8 had a fever Sunday, vomited Monday and was fine for school Tuesday. She woke up last night and got sick all over her bed and the bathroom. I hate it when they miss the toilet! Yuck  . She seems to have had a relapse of sorts.

I hope everyone's children feel better soon. Nothing breaks your heart more than a sick little one.

I had to stay home on Monday with my puky little girl. No fever... no diarrhea... just vomiting... no temperature.

The stomach cramps lasted the better part of the day and luckily the vomiting stopped at 11:00 a.m. She felt great on Tuesday.

Her teacher said that it's going around the school.

I had stomach cramps on Sunday night and DH had them last night. So far, DS is the only one who hasn't had it... and now that I've said that, he'll probably get it, too. :(

DH had this yesterday but he's feeling better today. He started taking Immodium AD yesterday afternoon and that helped him a lot, came home last night and crashed, woke up feeling 100% better. Now I'm going to kick his butt if he gave it to me or the kids. ;)
