DD13 will be 14 when we travel. She is small for her age and still usually orders from the kid's meal section of the menu wherever we go. We had no issue with this at TS restaurants in WDW when she was 11 or 12. We just used our DDP credits for our adult meals and paid OOP for her kid's meal.

Will it be a problem for her to order from the kid's menu and let us pay OOP? at TS restaurants?

It shouldn't be a problem :). You would have to pay the adult price for any buffets or family style/all you can eat places, but other places it should be fine to get a kid's meal.

We're good with using a TS credit for a buffet. I just don't want to plan our meals and then not be able to pay OOP for DD. Thanks!

We have always found Disney to be very accommodating with our oldest who used to be very picky, so I think you will be fine :goodvibes.

We used to do this with my DD when she was younger, until she tried a bite of my adult steak compared to her kids meal steak. The quality difference was amazing. This was at Le Cellier. So we started doing the kids meal only if it was an item that was not offered on the adult menu, not just to get a smaller portion size. The adult meal quality of food was just so much better than the kids meals, she would eat more when she got the adult meal.
