8 preteen girls screaming and giggling in the family room. I am hiding upstairs. I hope they don't kill each other. ;)

I bet they're talking about which boys they think are cute! :scared1:

I thought they were plotting to take over the world, but you are probably right. I heard some boys' names bandied around while I was dishing out the pizza.

Remember those days????? :cloud9:

aaaahhhh! i hope DD doesn't want to do that again for her birthday this year! all i can say is GOOD LUCK! lol

OMG, i remember sleepovers like that (it was only about 10 years ago).

This year, somehow, I got sucked into helping with my cousins sleepover party. 18 twelve year old girls hyped up on sugar, sugar and more sugar:scared1:

I did not think I was going to survive that night

I have been suckered into doing this for my daughter's birthday this year. She is turning 10 so she wants it to be the best. She is already trying to plan things and it's not until October :lmao:

I asked her the other day how many girls she wanted to invite to sleep over and I was totally surprised when she asked if she could have 3 girls over. WOO HOO Sure, I said, that sounds about right. Little does she know I would have been ok with up to 5. May she never find that out LOL

I am still trying to figure out why they call them SLEEPOVERS...I picked my daughter up from one Sunday at noon and they had not gone to sleep until 730am and then were up at 10am...not much sleep going on there. The one before that I picked her up at 10am and they had not even gone to sleep at all....the day after a sleepover usually involves my daughter sitting catatonic on her bed the entire day and a nice early bedtime that night LOL.

Fun age. Enjoy!

Now, what's for breakfast?

Chocolate chip pancakes. Just made them and the girls loved them. I wanted to take them to IHOP for breakfast, but I was anticipating 5 girls and wound up with 9. Couldn't fit them all in my minivan.

I've started limiting sleepovers for DD (soon to be 11) to no more than 2 other girls at a time.

Last year for her birthday party, we had 10 (most from her newly-formed softball team), and the DRAMA!!! The problem was really that the girls didn't know each other particularly well.

All night long it was she likes her, but is bugging them. Three groups of 3-4, and then they'd blow up and switch groups. Never, never again. DH was out of town and I truly thought I wouldn't make it.

Yes. I hid. With a glass of wine. And I'm proud to say I'd do it again in a heartbeat. When I got up in morning, 2 were in her room, 5 were upstairs in the living room, 4 were in the basement. Apparently there was a division of those who wanted to sleep and those who wanted to stay awake all night.

They say time heals all wounds. Not this one. Never, never again. And I'm the "fun" mom.

Hope you survived!

I survived. In fact, the girls were just great. We just came back from Baskin Robins where they each got an ice cream cone (I paid). One girl was picked up right after breakfast and the rest are still here. They should all be picked up between 12 and 1 except for the one girl I am taking home. Overall, a good time was had by all. Oh, except DH who had trouble falling asleep over the laughter and had to get up by 6 am. He called me from the office saying he's exhausted.

The last time my kids were allowed a big sleepover was when my oldest was eleven... :rotfl:

They busted the screens out of our basement windows and were running from one window to the other, climbing in and out. Not to mention, someone got locked in a closet. And there was an incident with stolen underwear.

Now my kids can only have ONE friend at a time for sleepovers, and parties are always kept to 3 hours. Based on their dad's reaction to having to replace four screens, I don't see that changing any time soon. :rotfl2:

Wow, busted out screens! :scared1:

No the worst I had to deal with were soda spills all over my carpeting. I figure I can just rent a carpet cleaner and take care of that. No, nothing horrendous happened, thank goodness.

I did a sleepover with eight 11 y/o boys last week. I think I got off easy now. They were loud, but not destructive (thank the wii and the nintendo ds) and they were even all asleep by 2 am! They sure ate a lot. I don't think I'd live through a girl sleepover.
