DD broke her foot when she fell off of a rock wall yesterday :headache:We leave for Disney in less than 3 weeks :scared1:

This happened 3 years ago when we went too. Im gonna have to get her a bubble :goodvibes

Oh no. If I could put DD11 and myself in bubble wrap I would, we are clutz's. Just the craziest stuff happens. And I am often a injury repeater. I have broken the same toe twice. I have a knee that has been injured twice.

How does the broken foot get covered? I mean like an air cast, etc? Hope she feels better.

She is in a temp cast now and we go to the orthopedic tomorrow, so I will find out exactly how they will cover it. I am going to request a waterproof cast

I'm sorry to hear about your DD. I hope she has a quick recovery.

And, ugh, this happened before your last WDW trip too?

I worry so much about someone getting sick or hurting themselves before our WDW trips. I remember back in 2005 (our Disney 'off' year) my DH broke his arm in a bicycling accident and it required surgery. This happened in September and we usually go to WDW in October. I remember saying to DH at one point "I'm glad we don't have a trip to Disney planned for next month". I'm such a bad wife! :scared:

Bummer! We are living parallel lives. DD broke her arm yesterday, and had broken the other arm last year!

In addition, you might want to talk to the person who will be removing the cast. Have a line drawn on the cast where it will be cut for removal. Then bring along some "Sharpies" and have the characters autograph the cast, asking them to make sure their signature does not directly cross the line.

Once the cast is removed and fully dried out, you will then have a very unusual souvenir of the trip.

We did this when DD17 broke her wrist the day before we left for Disney. Of course, it attracted a lot of attention in WDW so she has a lot of neat signatures.

OP, resign yourself to the fact that you're going to need a wheelchair. There is no way your child will be able to haul themselves around on crutches or even go in a walking cast--just too much walking. Her foot will be the size of Montana. You can get away with a regular folding w/c. Check with insurance and see if they will cover it. If not, then just find someplace to rent one and take it with you. She might not need it all the time, but when she does nothing else will do.:thumbsup2

Thanks all!! We are planning on some type of chair.

How did she fall of the wall? Was she bouldering or top roping? I ask because my doctor is insisting to me that it is ok to continue top roping while pregnant. But if your daughter can fall and break her foot, than obviously accidents can happen.

We were at a party and there were no ropes or harnesses. One of the "rocks" was not secure and when DD grabbed it it spun, she lost her grip and fell. I do not know about any type of rock climbing!! Sorry
