DD didn't know a thing. We came over the last bridge on 528 where you can see the ships and DH told her that we were not going to a doctor's appointment, "Happy birthday, we're going on a cruise!!". The look on her face was priceless. She had a great time.

We got rained out in Nasau but we were done shopping anyways. Good thing before I spent to much money. CC was also wonderful. DD went swimming, we thought it was to cold for us. Then we went and ate lunch and the wind seemed to pick up so we went back to the boat and swam in the pools for a bit. But all in all we had a great time.

Our servers were great, especially Dee, our Asst. Server. We saw her almost everywhere we went to eat throughout our cruise and she was great with the kids. We were unhappy with out State Room Host. We saw her twice, once when she introduced herself on the first day and then this morning when she came knocking at the door at 7:40 to see if she could clean the room. I thought we had until 8:00 to be out of our room. And a word of warning, be carefull what you leave laying around on the dressers, it may get thrown away. We came back from Nassau where I had purchased a small diamond ring. My paperwork and some flyers from Nassau were in my stroller and I took them out and put them on the dresser so I could fold the stroller up and put it in the closet. Well when we came back later that evening, the pile of papers were gone. I assume they were thrown away because I tore the stateroom apart looking for them. So be careful what you leave laying around, it may not be there when you get back.

Does anyone find the last night stressful? I had to pack everything up, fill out the luggage tags, imigration papers, DCL survery. I felt very stressed last night. I think I need to go back again to unwind :earsboy:

My pillowcase turned out wonderful. I dropped 2 off and a photo mat, It took the CM 3 trips back to the back to find everything but they looked great. Signed by all the usual characters and the princesses.

Well, I think thats it. We are all sad to be back home. DS kept saying "more boat" as we were leaving. He is very sad to be home. And I brought back a terrible momento.......a COLD!!!! Guess there were some people that didn't wash their hands like they were supposed to. Oh well, I am thankful that I didn't come down with bad symtoms while I was on the boat.

I thought last night was stressful also! Took me forever to pack and our stateroom host didn't seem to happy with me that I kept putting out suitcases after 11:00. Guess I should have packed some along the way...but there was too much to do! Luckily it all came together and the kids were passed out anyway! :)

I found it more stressful on the 3 night cruise as opposed to the 4 night. Probably because we had spent the entire day on Castaway Cay and I was exhausted. I didn't even go to the show that night and considered skipping dinner.

What a wonderful surprise for your DD.

Ha, I had you guys beat - mine went out at 11:30PM.

I figured what the heck, they can be annoyed in the morning if they want me to carry them off.

And I agree, packing, imm papers, survey, dinner, tips envelopes - WAY TOO MUCH!!

Sorry to hear you got a cold.

Was anyone else annoyed at the schedule of things? We had early dinner and then went to the show. I felt like we couldn't see anything else.

The last night was extremely stressful. It falls on me to both do the packing and unpacking. I had hubby take the kids up on deck after Castaway Cay. I spent the time back in the room packing up!

Our schedule was crazy! After 1st seating my DSs had to go to bingo since they won 2 games the 1st night! Lucky! They were addicted! I told them to stop when they were ahead! Of course, they didn't win again! Then we were off to the show where they fell asleep!

before our 2nd disney cruise i had gotten a tip on these boards to start packing before the last night and then it wouldn't be so much to do on the last night. I thought it was a GREAT tip, too bad i didn't remember to do it. I got so busy having fun all week that i remembered it on the last night as i'm rushing around and packing.

The last day is stressful...get the kids back & dressed for rehersal at 4, dress for dinner, go to the show at 5, pick them up in the mob of parents, rush to dinner, final show, shutters for final pictures, farewell show. Whew! I did pack all of our dirty clothes in one of the bags on Tuesday afternoon since the pamper was over flowing and Thursday afternoon while the kids were at the pool with DH I packed up everything but 2 outfits for dinner, our CC clothes, & going home clothes so that freed up more space. By Friday after dinner I just had to pop the rest of it in a suitcase & it was done. I am going to figure out a way to make it easier the next time. :)

Glad that your DD was surprised though & had a great cruise!

I agree w/ the LP. It drove me crazy trying to get all our things together, trying not to forget anything, etc. I think either the boat needs to slow down and bump up the arrival time to disembark or add another day at sea just to pack. I felt like I didn't really get to enjoy the last day b/c of all the "work" I had to do. Just a note, we are a family of five. My 4,3,and 2 yr olds wouldn't have been much help.

LOL - so dandb, your boys were the "BINGO BOYS!" that the caller kept referring to? LOL so funny.

regarading packing, we are at WDW for 5 nights, then the 3 night cruise, I am going to pack just once suitecase for the cruise, the rest will not be ALLOWED TO BE OPENED!!! I hope this works! My dd age 12, found out about the trip, so she has now become my helper, we will onlyhave to surprise my 5 year old, and he will be clueless as to how I pack the suitecases!

I found the last night stressful as well, but I stress about everything! :teeth: Since it was my first cruise, I stressed about filling out my immigration forms correctly, making the disembarkation seminar, getting my luggage out in the hall on time, you name it, I stressed about it. Speaking of the disembarkation seminar on the last evening of the cruise, I was kind of sorry I wasted my time going to that when the seminar was replayed endlessly all night long on the stateroom television. I guess next time I'll skip it and watch it on television as I pack.

BowlingAriel: So how is the alley doing? No, unfortunately those "bingo boys" were not mine. Those boys had won a pretty large pot one of the other sessions. Mine won one each at the early session on Pirate night. I guess you were also there trying for that big $1,900 pot on the last night, huh? :wave2:

Pidge: I was glad that I had read on a previous post before the cruise about the "speech" being broadcast on the television all night. My DH was telling me that we had to go, etc. and I told him about the t.v...... :goodvibes

Even after 5 cruises, the last day/night is a bit stressful, plus a little depressing cause you have to leave the ship the next morning. We've done 4 7 night trips and the last day is CC and you want to spend time there, but you know the packing is waiting. We've now tried to get a lot of packing done throuhg the day on Thursday and finish up on Friday. After the second debarkation, I relaxed about the forms, the customs form is so much less a big deal than I thought at first. We have also started bringing pre-printed name/address lables for the luggage tags. Just saves a few minutes.

On this last cruise (1/15) we couldn't dock at CC. This was disappointing, and more so for those folks who've never been there. However, on the positive side, the day was a lot more relaxing and we finished packing on and off during the day, so by dinner (2nd seating) I was able to leave our luggage out. I kind of wish CC was earlier in the week anyway and the last day could be a sea day (on the 7 night cruises). It really does make the last day/night a little less stessful.

I managed to pack in the morning while we were docking at CC. I did such a splended job that I packed our flight info, the parking ticket for the airport. I finished packing what I bought and room decorations just in time for the 1100 cutoff. My stress elevated when we got to the airport. It was nuts there and the Delta folks were not helpful at all.

Glad your DD was surprised. I for one am done with surprises. It was so stressful with the bad weather and trying to get everything and everyone where they needed to be. My recommendation, fly in the day before. You were lucky to be able to drive.

We carry our luggage out with us in the morning instead of putting it out in the hall the night before. We usually just have one bag (on wheels) and a carry-on most of the time (3-day cruisers, no need to overpack). Easier to do it like that than having to figure out what you need to keep in your room etc. Next morning, we roll on out past everyone looking for their luggaeg. :earsgirl:

We're major overpackers. Especially when it's all five of us, yikes! Do you remeber Mr. and Mrs. Howell from Gilligan's Island, that's us. They were the only ones who packed enough clothes for a 3 hour tour, to have changes for 7 years!

WOW! With the four of us on a 7 day cruise there is no way that we could make due with that little. We always keep $15 tucked away to tip the porter who helps us gather our bags & take them to the car. They always put them in the back while we buckle up the kids. I pack all the clothes by outfits in ziplocks so it really makes it easy to take a couple outfits for each person off their shelf.

I thought that I had packed alot but it ended up that I was very happy with what I had brought. DSs easily went through the extra shirts and underwear that I had brought them. The power strip and the over the door hangers were great! I think that next time I will give DSs each a section of the over door hanger and tell them to keep all of their stuff in there. I was forever checking everywhere and every drawer for their things! :magnify:

You could always just get another one & let them use it on the other bathroom door. :)
