DD wants an electronic Sudoku.....do they work?

Is one brand or type better than another? I'm kinda surprised that this is what she wants.....but I guess it's better than a $200 fake pony!

Yes they work. I got one for my son last summer to take to camp. His was about between $15 and $20 from Wal Mart, so nothing fancy.

One thing I don't like about it, is that it's kind of cumbersome to use. When you're using a pencil/paper, you just go right to the square you want, about as quickly as you see it. With the electronic one, you have to scroll all the way over there, and it's sometimes hard to find the "cursor".

I'd have her play with one a time or two (most of the electronic stores have floor models) to see if she really enjoys using it.

I bought one also. I love it. I have one that looks like a palm pilot so you can use the pen instead of tabbing over to find the number. I have listed the link below. I got it from Toys R Us for 14.99

That's exactly what I don't like about mine. I rarely use it. I much prefer to use a book or the computer. It takes me about 20 minutes to do an easy level on the handheld, where it would only take about 5 with paper. Also you can't make notations (at least on mine) which is necessary for the harder games. The one with the stylus might be better.

This looks like a nice one. My DD loves this game and I think would love a handheld version of it.

I have the same one as JeffM and I really like it. No scrolling involved and there are 4 levels!

I don't care for the one I bought. If your DD has a Nintendo DS handheld game, I'd recommend the game, Brainage, which has some great sudoko puzzles that use the stylus.
