DD turns 13 at end of Aug this year whilst we are in Orlando.

Does anybody have an ideas of something really special that we could do for her (either in one of the many parks or outside)?

For birthday ideas when in Disney follow this linkhttp://disneyworld.disney.go.com/celebrations/

In previous years its been DS(11) birthday and each visit upon arrival at the resort he was given a badge saying Happy Birthday, and a space to write his name in.He would then get cast members coming up to him wishing him a happy birthday. When we ate table service restaurants throughout the parks and resorts, at the end of the meal he would get a small cupcake with a candle in it and we would all sing happy birthday to him.Whilst waiting in line at the monorail station once a CM sang it to him Opera style:)
If your not staying onsite i think you can still get a badge at any Guest Relations in the parks:thumbsup2

Afternoon tea at grand Floridian?

Pick a pearl and choose a necklace setting in Japan at Epcot?

Both awesome ideas!!

Does she like EPCOT? The round the world Segway tour looks awesome.

Or maybe Discovery Cove?

The new spa at the GF looks great if she'd like to be pampered like a grown up. :)

What about a mother & daughter spa package or just a spa treatment for your DD? :thumbsup2

I believe this tour has been discontinued, however the OP's daughter would be too young for a Segway tour anyway - you have to be 16.

Without really knowing what your daughter likes or is into, it's hard to know what to suggest. Maybe you could just do something as simple as letting her plan/choose what she does for the hole day. We did this with my DD's 14th Birthday - she chose to start with breakfast at Crystal Palace, spend the monring at MK, afternoon at DTD and dinner at Planet Hollywood.

How about a 'behind the scenes tour' of some kind. Or book an Illuminations or Wishes cruise.

To be honest, how could a Birthday spent in the most magical place on Earth not be special anyway ;)

my niece will turn 13 when we're there at Easter. We've allowed her to pick the day ... she wants to go to play mini golf at Winter Summerland, picked Rainforest Cafe or Planet Hollywood for lunch (we're going with RFC) and then DTD for shopping ... it's her day :)

Discovery Cove. Don't tell her till the morning. I did this for my kids one Christmas Day on a Disney holiday. Best surprise ever.

Dolphins in Depth at Epcot.

Speak to a MK cast member earlier and see if you can be family of the day opening the parks at MK.

Early morning surfing lesson at Typhoon Lagoon.

Water sports day at the Contemporary. Parasailing and that thing where you get pulled behind a boat in a Dinghy. That looks fun!

Money to clothes shop 'till she deops at a Mall.

A basket full of Disney goodies delivered to her hotel room.

Fireworks Cruise.

Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom.

Ooops! So other than the fact the tour doesn't exist, and you have to be over 16, this was a great suggestion! :lmao:

Sorry OP - show's how out of touch I am!

My eldest DD turns 13 when we are at WDW, at the end of August too.

She has already told us that she wants to ride TOT, 13 times that day :faint:

Last year when my other DD was turning 11 we booked a Wishes Cruise, we were on holiday with our friends and were going to share the cost. Unfortunately the cruise was cancelled due to lightening but I think it would have been really good.
Earlier in the day we went to Blizzard Beach and ordered the Sand Pail Ice Cream (smaller version of the Kitchen Sink) to share, both of my DDs loved this and still talk about it now.
