DD is right now in the process of accepting an internship with DVC. It lasts from January to June. Wonder what inside scoops she'll get. First dibs on AKL!!!

Good luck to her, and how many trips to visit her are in your plans??

Hope she likes to drive. The young lady who drove my wife and I to Saratoga Springs when we signed up said that she was an intern and that is what most interns do for DVC. Hope it works out better for your DD.

Wonderful! Be sure to try to take advantage of the CM discount of 15% on DVC purchases while she's working there.

is this like a college internship ?
She will get college credit for it, but it is also paid. They call them professional internships. She did the college program last spring into the summer. She is a college student but will be adjusting her semester to accomodate this (the college is encouraging her to take this opportunity).

Congrats to your DD! She must be an amazing kid to get accepted into both internships, you must be so proud.

DD has to take an internship for college, she is going into business sport management, i wonder if she could get something at the golf course or something like dvc, any info you have about the internship please pm me, if you dont mind.

They offer professional internships in many areas. Many however require you do the college program before the Internship. She can get more info at

As to the comment about driving potential DVCers around, most internships offer mentoring, a learning situation, that prepares one for your career. Some Disney internships will actually do that and some are just gopher jobs.

Congratulations to your DD! I've had a few students go through the Disney internship (usually doing things at one of the parks) and each has had a wonderful experience.
I met a CM/student while at Epcot this past November -- it was her 7th time working there through the internship program -- apparently you can repeat the experience there. You can definitely tell that the students enjoy their time there.

Regarding driving around..

On the 2005 Members Cruise we met a wonderful couple who drive DVC vans as their job and they love the job for the people they meet, and in general were quite happy. I wish I could remember their names, but I can picture them, not that it does any good here.

Congratulations to your daughter!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I am not saying there is anything wrong with driving people around if that is your job. To me an intern should be learning how to do sales or other business things, not being a gopher. I was just trying to let the OP know that this is what was told to us. That does not mean it is true or gospel, just trying to be friendly
