My dd just spent breakfast telling me how great it was that Santa brought her an American Girl doll...and that because she asked Santa, it saved me $$$ since I didn't have to buy it for her.

Isn't that thoughtful?

Love the innocence....and I also know that she'll be probably be a parent someday with just as generous children----and I'll smile at the memory!

My daughter saved me money too, because she opened up her AG doll and said she only wanted the one she already has!!!

I'll return it and she'll probably forget about it. She got a lot of stuff already!

What a great story!! The pure innocence of children at Christmastime is so magical:wizard:

Last night my cousin told me a similar story:
her friend's son wants two elaborate LEGO gifts and told his mom he put the more expensive one on his Christmas list for Santa and the cheaper one on a list for mommy and daddy.

The Easter Bunny saved me a fortune 2 yrs ago, with a gift trip to WDW! lol:rotfl: My two younger ones still believe in Magic!

That is really sweet.

Reminds of the time I took my little ones (many moons ago) to a movie and lunch for Mothers Day. My young son swept his arm expansively over the table and told me to order whatever I wanted because it was Mothers Day and I should have whatever I wanted. :goodvibes

I love that memory.

That is adorable! Santa brought me an American Girl too! :rotfl: The Ruthie one that I've jokingly asked for for a couple years! Didn't ask for it this year, but it was a fun surprise! :goodvibes

We tell my kids we have to pay Santa for the gifts. That way we can tell them its too expensive and they understand if Santa does not bring it.

So cute!

We have a funny story about Christmas gifts too. Last year, our 2 DDs got laptops for Christmas. Shortly after, we were able to get a used laptop from DH's work place for free and gave that to DS to use. DH and I also have laptops from work that we are able to use at home.

For awhile he told everyone how lucky we were because all 5 of us have free laptops! The girls were from Santa, his was free and ours were free because work paid for them. So cute!

One of those memories that you will really have to record and remember for when she is spending $$$$$ on her little one(s)!!!!!!

DH tells me that he would just blast thru all the presents at warp speed, paper strewn everywhere.....
and then just look up when he didn't see any more and say "Is that all....." :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Now, he didn't mean, like, is that ALL I am getting....
Because, believe me, his mother always went overboard.
It was more like, okay, have I opened them all...
But, still.... :rotfl2:
