to say that I was less than pleased.... I don't share well. :confused3 On the other hand she wanted to make a goodbye scrapbook by herself for the 4th grade teacher who is leaving. (of course, we just found out about it and her last day is oh, tomorrow). So I'm impressed that she's doing it herself.. (although, now that I think about it, she must have also raided the pile of pictures I was going to use for her teacher's book!) I have to say, it's pretty cute. (of course, it should be since she's using all "my" stuff! :) ) maggie

How sweet of her to take on that challenge--and sweet of you to "share"! ;)

I do have to say that since I've got my own place to scrap (little corner upstairs), I've noticed DD lurking about, hanging over me while I'm working. She's been working on her summer trip '04, and I bet she's just peeping into my stuff to see what looks good that she might "need". To be totally honest though, she's the one who helped me set up my little "scrap corner"-----cleared off the desk and emptied the junk out of the drawers. I probably owe her a few of my "goodies" for helping me with that. I just hope she doesn't get too attached to my work area and I find my scissors gone!

I bought my DDs (all four of them!) their OWN scrapping stuff!! I LOVE them dearly and I share EVERYTHING else in my life with them, but my scrapbooking stuff is MINE, MINE, MINE!!! They know my scrapbooking area is off limits to them! Sounds mean, huh?!?!?

I do let them (and their friends) use all the Sizzix and punches (while I'm around :rolleyes1 ). I gave them all the "funky scissors" since I don't use them anymore. They have their own stash of stickers and paper so I guess I'm not THAT mean!!! I'm just VERY possesive of my "stash"!!! :confused3

Oh how sweet of her to do this! I just love that our DDs are scrapping with us :goodvibes! Just today, my DD used quite a bit of my stuff as well. They brought home this bunny yesterday that they have to care for completely for the next week. We made her clothes last night and tonight we made her a house. We used a shoebox and added lots of stickers and scrapping things to decorate the inside of the box. We even made the cutest bathroom with a bubble filled tub and all. DDs favorite thing though is the rug we made with my oval cutter. I even fringed the edges for her! After the house I cut up cardstock and she used the binding machine to make bunny her own baby book complete with stickers (everywhere, mind you - lol) and then all kinds of detail about baby bunny. It's really cute and she's so proud! DD has lots of her own stuff, but often gets into my stash as well. MOST of the time she will ask before thank goodness.

My DD scraps too and she was always into my stuff. I don't share well either. So I came up with a plan. I bought a couple of the plastic envelopes for my stickers, paper and die cuts. I went through them and sorted into piles of what I would share and "Don't you dare touch this or you'll lose a finger!". DD KNOWS what envelope she can take stuff out of now without asking.

She also has her own stash too. We have different tastes so my paper is pretty safe, but I do occasssionally steal from her.

I wish my DDs were into scrapping! My 17 year old does a little bit of it, but loses interest quickly. She was recently making a really cute scrapbook of a trip that we took to WDW this past summer. We had let her bring her two best friends with us on the trip, and they had a blast. Unfortunately, the girls all had a major falling out last month and they aren't speaking to each other (after over 3 years of wonderful friendship), so now she refuses to work on it anymore. Ugh!!!

My 20 year old has never really been into scrapping, but she announced to me yesterday that she thinks she wants to do one. A year or two ago, my CM consultant showed me a little scrapbook that she had made about the relationship with the guy that she is about to marry. It was one of those 8x8 red albums with the heart on the front. It was a really cute scrapbook that chronicled how they met and cute little things about them. I asked her to order me two of those albums, and when they came in, I told my girls that I was putting them away until the time that they thought they had found the guy that's "the one". They both kind of rolled their eyes, but then last night my oldest told me that she thinks she wants to do a scrapbook. I immediately knew what she meant.

By the way, I woke up this morning to find that the heat in the downstairs part of my house was out. It's about 60 degrees down there. I guess that means I will have to stay upstairs (where it's warm) and scrap all day long!

sorry Maggie - I know how you HATE to share
but I know the teacher will love it and it is soooo sweet of Kate! :)

Poor Kate! Here she was doing a nice thing for someone, & mom didn't like to share :)!! Maggie, she did learn scrapping from the best though!

Maggie, without looking at the scrapbook and just looking at your scrap stuff what exactly did she take? I know you don't have that much stuff to begin with :rotfl2: so you are probably going to miss it. :rotfl: Tell Kate I am so very proud of her for getting that done for her teacher!

well she tried (notice that the key word here is "tried") to use my bazzill... um no. I did let her have the 6x6 pages from some random k and co book though. Let her have some school stickers, ribbon... and some other random stuff. She did a good job. :) maggie

NOT YOUR SCISSORS!!!!!!

I HATE when my really nice crafting scissors disappear and then I find them in various parts of the house. This irritates me to no end... :sad1:
