DD(11) just opened the last pack in her first box of contacts. Who is inexpensive to order contacts?

I haven't wore contacts in years thanks to eye surgery and her DD just wears glasses after his cataract surgery. When I use to wear contacts I did order from 1-800 contacts but someone (I think my brother in Japan) mentioned another website that was better but I have forgotten the website.

It doesn't have to be on-line, maybe in-store I can get a military discount. :)

Her RX (same for both eyes) is for Biofinity (sphere), BC 8.6 / DIA 14.0 / PWR -2.25

The box we bought from VisionWorks was a box of 6 for $61.00 which would be a three month supply.

We use Vision Direct for DH's contacts.

If you are a new customer, there's usually a code for a nice discount, plus free shipping.

If you are a member, Costco has really good prices on contacts.

Thanks, I just ordered her a year supply for $94.96. Less than $24 a box when the first box through the VisionWorks store was $61 a box. :crazy2: I don't expect her vision to change within 12 months, but we will now have enough supply until we do a new eye exam next summer.

Are you near to a Walmart? Their prices are pretty reasonable.

I hate going into Walmart. I just really hate it. LoL. I am 5 days post-op from having a hysterectomy so the trip to Target (just to get out and walk) was exhausting this morning. Too hot in Florida to walk in my neighborhood right now so did a little retail therapy with DH just to pick up a couple items.

Look up day soft lenses. You order them online and they are like generic contact lenses. You tell them the brand you currently use and your prescription and they send you daily disposable lenses for a very reasonable cost. I used them for a couple of years until I stopped using contacts all together.

We're coming up on a time of year when alot of contacts have rebates available - look for that.

Coopervision (the maker of Biofinity) has a $25 rebate on 4 boxes (1 year's supply) for current contact lens wearers but the contacts have to be ordered from the doctor that did the eye exam or from a place associated with the doctor. The offer isn't good for places like 1-800-contacts.

I've used http://www.discountcontactlenses.com/ for a few years now. Very reliable with fast shipping. Simple to order from just need to a email a copy of your prescription or they can call and verify with your doctor.

If you use ebates, they qualify for cash back. I have sensitive eyes and have to wear the daily lenses which are super expensive. I've saved a bunch through DCL.

Contact wearers should have yearly eye exams. When the company contacts the dr to verify the prescription, they may deny it.

Not sure why you think it would be denied. She just got the contact eye exam in July. First box of contacts only had 6 in it so that was a 3 month supply. She just opened her last set and told me she needed me to buy another box. She has the same RX for both eyes.

Like I said, wouldn't expect her prescription to change in 12 months. We do annual eye exams so her next eye exam will be next summer.

I ordered 4 boxes which is a 12-month supply. Now like I said she is 11 so I am sure she will rip, tear, drop, loose one here or there so 4 boxes should last her until her next exam.

Even if you don't use a DR's office for contacts, you still have to provide the prescription from the Dr, which are only good for a year.

Also try Sam's Club in the future. My contacts were quoted at $70 at the DR, and only $45 at Sam's.
