We just got back from our trip and DD (10) just realized she didn't have her autograph book. She has been collecting them since she was three, and we even have a pencil rub of her picture in Epcot's leave a legacy. I called lost and found for the parks and POFQ and both say if it is found they will mail it to us. We are not sure where she lost it, but she did have it our last day in the parks.

DD is devastated:sad1: . What are her chances of getting it back? Has this happened to anyone before?

BTW we did have her name, address, and e-mail number in the book. Hopefully someone will turn it in.

Thanks for listening.

Cindy

If you had your name & address in it, and a CM finds it, WDW will send it back to you. Disney takes returning lost possessions very seriously.

When I bought my dd's, the CM told me to make sure our name & address was written in the cover because WDW **will** return it if found!

Good luck!! ::yes::

I'm not a CM but if I found your book I'd send it back to you in a heartbeat *but NOT before signing it myself* :p

I think your chances are fair to medium on seeing your book again. Good luck! I'd love to know if it returns.....please keep us posted! :teeth:

If her name is in it you probably have a great chance of getting it back..

When we were at MNSSHP last year, I took off my clown wig, and glasses, and DD Jessies Hat, and put it under the flap of the rental stroller and forgot all about it, tilll we got home and Halloween was about 1 week away..I called Lost and Found and they sent it back and I got it 3 days before Halloween.. And they even paied for the shipping!!!

2 years ago, my friend and husband were with us for our January trip and they left their Camera in Africa in AK. It had their name and info on it and CM found it and returned it. So if they are willing to return a camera I am sure they will send back an autograph book. CM told us they take that very seriously and return anything that they can identify.

Here's some pixie dust - hoping you get it back.

We have had DD favorite blanket mailed back to us and our friends stuffed dog mailed to them. We have had hats and a camera turned into lost and found as well.

Please let us know if you find it.

Is there a chance that the book was left somewhere other than Disney?

I lost my autograph book once and reported it. I never did get it back though. Instead I was sent a new one with about 40 autographs from various characters in it. Most of them were addressed to me and Mickey himself had but my name and adress in the front and signed the first page.

I have no idea what CM went through all the trouble to get those autographs then send it to me to replace my lost book but it was absolutly fantastic of them. That book is in a prominent spot on my WDW shelf.

Thanks everyone for at least keeping my hopes up.:) It was most likely lost at Disney. We had it our last day at Epcot at the Ice cream Social. I thought I put it in a pocket in DD's backpack. When we got home I looked everywhere and it wasn't there. DD said she had it the night before we left.

I hope we get it back, my DD's favorite thing to do at the parks are get autographs. We even had a few hard to get ones. We would take it out and try to remember where we got each one. My DD is trying not to get upset about it. She says she will just have to start a new book, but I can tell it really bothers her. :(

I'll keep trying lost and found and hopefully it will show up. If anyone has any other advice, I would love to hear it.

Thanks for listening:)

I think it is quite likely...my daughter lost her wallet at the Space Mountain arcade last week - it contained 20.00 from her grandfather and her resort ID with charging privileges. All was turned in to Lost and Found.

Thanks for the thought keddy, but we were no where near the Contempory this trip.:) Although it would be great if it was hers. I will be calling lost and found again today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

My younger sister lost her autograph book some years ago. She was about 8 or 9 at the time and simply devastated. She HAD put her name and address inside, and much to our joy, it was mailed to our house by a cast member a few weeks after we got home. And get this...

It had WAY more autographs in it then when she lost it!

No experience to share, but I hope someone sends it back to you. Even if a CM doesn't find it, I hope a nice, honest person does, that will see a little girl's name and address and know how special it is to her.

Let us know if it's returned!

Steph

You have already received many responses but I thought I'd let you know that my DD also lost her autograph book a couple of years ago. We had written her name and address in the front. She was heartbroken. Well, within 2 weeks of our return, what should happen to show up in the mail.....yep, her autograph book!!! She was SO happy.

This is a good reason why it is so important to put the name and address in the front of the book. I'd say you have a pretty good chance that it might be forwarded to you if it was lost on Disney property somewhere.

I just want to give you an update. I have good news and bad news. The good news is they found my DD's autograph book and it was mailed out Wednesday. The bad news is it was mailed to our old address. We moved two years ago, so it won't be forwarded either. I thought I put our new address in it when we moved, but I guess I didn't.:(

The CM I spoke to said it should be returned to them, but it sometimes takes a month to get back. They will then mail it to our correct address.

Now my biggest worry is it will get lost in the mail!

Thank you for all the positive stories, they kept my hopes up.:)

cindy21494,
Any chance you could contact the post office in the town where your book is being sent?
If you explain the situation they may be able to forward it to you. It might be a long shot but it's certainly worth a try.

I would try and contact the postoffice where the book is being sent. Talk to the Postmaster and explain the situation. Give him(her) your old address and your new address and they might work with you on forwarding it to you.

My mom used to be a postmaster, but she was in a small office and she would do anything she could to help her customers out, to the point that she would go in for a short time on Christmas day to see if there were any packages that had arrived that she could tell might be Christmas presents and contact the customers to come pick them up. :D

It can't hurt to try. The only thing they can say is no, and you will have to wait. But you never know until you try.

I hope things work out.

Thank you for the suggestions! I would never thought of that (didn't know they could do that). I called our old post office, and they said they will keep an eye out for it and if they catch it they will forward it to me postage due. The CM at Disney said that they mailed it out Wednesday, so hopefully we will have it back by the end of next week.

I didn't think I would be this upset about an autograph book! I actually had a dream about it last night, and I woke up this morning at 5:00am and couldn't get back to sleep becasue I couldn't stop thinking about it.

My DD told me yesterday how she wished she hadn't lost it. Maybe that is why I had the dream.:scratchin

Thank again everyone!!

Cindy,

If there weren't able to find it... I would have been more than willing to get a new autograph book and get some signatures for your daughter. I'm very happy they found it though! :)
